My friend took me here, for it stands out so obvious as an appealing restaurant every time one is on board along Lai Chee Kok Road. Before we literally ordered anything, small buns with brown sugar and carrot flavours were served. Many Italian restaurants won high applaude because of their details on serving buns and pieces of bread as the starter, and this one, could have improved with serving the warm ones. The menu offered choices just up to our expectation. The set one would cost about $150 (
On that particular night we met, we shared the following dish:
The portion was just right for ladies. I was wondering if I had been mistaken at my first bite, for it looked like an Italian dish, while it could be far less comparable to the one we could have in a chain restaurant like Spaghetti House, in term of the price that would be compared. What's wrong? The choice of ingredients not the freshest as it was already dinner time? The time for preparation of sauce not enough, for it seldom served dinner? I couldn't tell, but would expect a more heartfelt treat on the resources it could have offered to us.
If we shall give a chance to the private and stand-alone restaurant, it certainly has to survive up to expectations of the consumers. With price marked relatively high, and the waiter being a bit pushy for requesting us to order more by saying why not try this and that, I felt more conserved about taking another risk at this restaurant. The food was just alright.. not particularly bad, but really not much up to its cost, especially with the services that offered in the more "industrial" than high-profile "commerical" area like that.
The interior was funny. Like it could be an appealing reason to get you in, you would be "watched" how you ate when you sat by the window. The tables were arranged in a manner that only the slender would feel they could be fine with moving around, not saying they would be fine with the privacy they could enjoy.
