12月23日 平安夜前夕, 終於可以和囡囡試食呢間自助餐, 有open rice coupon, 囡囡好開心, 因為有朱古力噴泉和可以自己整夾餅, 今日 要11點先有得食, 但一樣都好多人, 凍海鮮都好快補充, d蠔睇落都幾新鮮, 甜酸排骨就麻麻地, 但竹同糯米飯ok, 而甜品 d 咖啡慕士幾香和滑, d蛋糕都好好味. service 好ok, 下次都可再試.我和囡囡合共 $222.-

When I was 10: I went to Spice Market for the very first time for my Birthday Dinner. It was a Sunday, the decor looked very much like the "Southeast Asia" section of my geography textbook. The lights were dim and the staff were wearing traditional costumes and grins that touched their eyes. I opened my eyes for the very first time to curries of different colours and flavours enlightened by spices and herbs.
When I turned 14: I revisited the Spice Market, post-renovation this time. The decor was no more authentic than 'just another hotel restaurant" -- Open space, tightly packed tables, giant windows with a view of the bustling traffic outside. The food was forgettable, and looking at the buffet tables now packed with generic foodstuffs. I wondered then, if in a short while I would revisit.
Now, more than 10 years after the experience, upon several struggles from my previous experience at the Spice Market, I decided that it's time to weigh in again, hoping, against all odds, that they ditch the modern and bring back the old-fashioned.

I was impressed, the wooden furnishing were back, with custardy textured walls all around and wooden booths and stations. The air smells fragrantly of satay skewers and spread of various spices, fittingly into the concept of "The Spice Market". The food though, can only be described as generic with more showy factor that actually considered as "satisfying" and "delicious". There are the oysters, shucked in the kitchen and settled on a bed of ice at the buffet table. They were giant in size but failed to slip through the palate with the ocean sweetness most celebrated in raw oysters. The conches were big ones too, we had some tough luck locating the ones that were not overcooked. After a few we gave up. The crab legs aren't that much better. They were not overcooked, they just didn't taste like crab. The evening was off on a bad start, but our hopes were up.

The array of cold salads were fresh and welcoming. The garde manger has done excellent work in making sure that everything were presented nicely and last minute checks were seen moments before the meal started. We could see waiters wiping the clean and counters clean. The potato salad was chunky with a rich mayonnaise lacing through, while Thai seafood salad with vermicelli is strong on the lime juice and lemongrass, with good heat from the chilies. For Christmas celebration's sake, there it was, a roasted turkey, with the skin crisped golden brown, side by side with the prime rib to be served with Brussel sprouts (surprisingly wonderful), roasted chestnuts and sweet potatoes (so-so) and red cabbage (soggy). Around the bend of the buffet area are the 'noodle station', where cooks will make noodles with ingredients of your choice right to order. There are the usual -- fishballs, bok choy, beef slces, and other various choices to choose from. Sharing the same station was a large bamboo steamer, where Steamed scallops with XO Sauce and a miniature 'Glutinous Rice steamed in Bamboo' were made. The scallops are fresh and sweet at the same time, while the rice is mushy and sticky in a pleasant way.

Going further was the curry station -- once famed in "The Spice Market" (wouldn't be a 'spicy' buffet without it). I could remember the naan, pappas, and a selection of houe-made fruit chutneys. The tandoori chicken was textbook-perfect -- dry and spicy on the outside and juicy inside. Curry du jour include a Beef Rendang, which was appropriately dry with moderate heat at the same time, while Vegetable Korma gave out an immense whiff of nutty flavour and thoroughful blending in the taste without cooking the vegetables to a mush. The Wagyu beef/ oyster-pancake station though, was a disappointment. The beef was cubed and flash fried but you have to wait an awful long time for it. By the time the waiter showed up with your order (from station to your table it has already turned cold). The oystera pancake was no better, the oysters were fine alright but the pancake was chewy enough to be on the verge of being called "rubbery".

Desserts, pictured here, are impeccably good. Located on BOTH ENDS of the buffet area. On one end was the ice cream station, where 8 flavours of Haagan-Dazs were in deep freeze. On the other end was another dessert paradise, including the new Chocolate Fountain and a selection of dipping elements like cubed sponge cakes, marshmallows and fruits. The watermelon and papaya are equally refreshing and make a great round out for the evening. The Spice Market has a long standing history of serving Southeast Asian Fare, and their "ethnic" desserts are wonderful as well. Now serving in colourful miniature bowls, Black Glutinous Rice with Mango and Coconut milk, Layered Pandanus Leaf Pudding, Tapioca with coconut and Taro root...etc. All were pleasantly over the top. Don't forget to take a look into the dessert kitchen from the window next to the dessert table. You may be lucky enough to get a hold of their fluffy souffles (vanilla/ chocolate) or even a fantastic Baked chocolate pudding with a cracked top and softly set inside.

A trip to the Spice Market, despite an early unwelcoming start, showed that the restaurant still got his groove. Over the years the uniqueness may have vanished with the popularity of Southeastern Fare in Hong Kong. The novelty factor, while not 'new' enough to excite the palates of Hong Kong-ers anymore, was still kept here as the establishment continues to serve good standard of curries, desserts and creative dishes. They may not catch up with the big joints that show off platters after platters of Japanese hairy crabs or unlimited foie gras to order. I'm just glad that they haven't given up what they have been good at all along. For everything else, I guess this Spice Market will hopefully grow like any markets will do -- with more variations of different things as time goes by...

之前係OPEN RICE 到PRINT 左75折COUPON 因為MAMA生日就去左食啦 ..個次個主題係大閘蟹個個 ... 一去到個到都算幾多野食 .. 不過 .. 唔係樣樣都好味囉 .. EG和牛又唔係話特別好味仲有 .. 個D 大閘蟹又細隻又MU MU 地 .我個屋企人開到係壞既TIM熱野方面 都唔係咁岩我 最岩我地食都係 生蠔 .. 真係最好味 .. 好鮮甜 ..仲有長腳蟹 .. 食左好多呀 ^^仲有就係 D DESSERT .. D CAKE .. 同埋豆腐花都好好味 .. 當然唔小得既就係HA記 ICE-CREAM啦$300 都唔洗一個 .. 都算超值嫁啦

家中有人有呢間自助餐Discount,所以一家人尋日去試。食品種類多,有中,西,印,日等,有剌身,有長腳蟹,有生蠔,仲有和牛鐵板,串燒,火鍋。火鍋一枱有一至兩個鍋,連一份火鍋料,另外counter有肥牛等其他配料,湯底都有3款,我地試左個冬蔭宮,都幾好味。長腳蟹,生蠔,和牛鐵板味道一般。我最鍾意食印度Curry配薄餅,味道好正!以呢個價錢響尖沙咀食自助餐,算幾抵食啦!

之前去過幾次都好食,今次同男朋友去食,恆生咭有八折,不過貴左,而家人168加1,今次係蠔做主題,之前幾次去得生蠔,今次去有熟蠔,:而且仲有長腳蟹食,好大隻,D咖哩都好好食,值得一試,有HAAGEN-DAZS雪糕,不過冇我想食既味,最LIKE食和牛,一個人食左4份魚生都好新鮮,仲有翡翠螺,其實本人覺得好抵食,百幾蚊咁多野食,D服務又好,坐得好舒服.

星期日同左屋企人去食dinne buffet, 不過因為星期五先book位, 就俾安排坐左係個Banquet Room入面, 位置都好近扔野食, 不過坐返係餐廳既感覺會好d今次個主題係泰式火煱, 每兩位就會有一份材料,有蝦, 和牛,肥牛等, 不過好似扔出面既野食比較好。另外每人有一隻大闡蟹送, 都未行過去已經成枱都係食物dinner buffet我推介生蠔, 長腳蟹, 兩樣都好好咪, 另外和牛都好好味, 不過當個waiter扔到過黎果時其實已經凍左, 所以要扣少少分熱盤我覺得果度既咖哩係幾好, 特別係咖哩羊肉再加埋烤包, 好正!!!至於其他熱盤都不過不失, 水準都算幾好甜品最欣賞佢除左有"哈緊大"雪糕之外, 仲有雪芭!!!超好味, 同埋可以自己整pancake, 等d小朋友有得玩下, 另外dessert櫃都有好多甜品,另外可以自己整返杯熱檸水飲下, 因為係自助形式, 所以可以因每個人既口味加多片檸檬, 不錯!!!!4個人用左coupon大概$1000多少少, 都物有所值既!!!

甜品最欣賞佢除左有"哈緊大"雪糕之外, 仲有雪芭!!!超好味, 同埋可以自己整pancake, 等d小朋友有得玩下, 另外dessert櫃都有好多甜品,

另外可以自己整返杯熱檸水飲下, 因為係自助形式, 所以可以因每個人既口味加多片檸檬, 不錯!!!!

4個人用左coupon大概$1000多少少, 都物有所值既!!!

見到openrice有coupon,,就同男朋友走黎食宵夜buffet..10點去到..都幾多人..個theme係和牛..行個圈先..都好似幾多野食咁..首先食生蠔..唔錯喎!!幾good..魚生,,得三文魚..食一轉已經夠..佢有一籠籠既點心擺係度..我地食左燒賣..都幾好...幾特別..試左佢個和牛..唔多得 ..普通野..仲要好似牛柳咁上下既野..個汁就okay..d牛肉就真係幾麻麻..講下甜品先..雪糕..正!!好味!!仲有自助waffle同朱古力噴泉..都幾好玩個waffle機..加埋牛油熱熱地都幾好味!!其他甜品細細份都唔錯!!不過熱食就冇乜..始終都係宵夜..所以唔多..service都幾好..加水同加野食都幾快..總括黎講..都唔錯!!可以一試!!

繼上星期三(29/10)食完Todai後,我星期日(1/11)又去左食呢個「泰和味」火窩自助晚餐!兩者相比之下,好明顯後者抵食又好食過Todai好多~ 環境方面:當日下午才去訂位,發現外面已經full booking了,所以一行四人要坐所謂的VIP房初時也擔心難拿到食物,但後來發現大廚會時常出來補充食物,完全不會有"搶食"的問題酒店餐廳環境有整潔優雅的感覺,而且坐房內反而不似坐外面般吵和人來人往,也不錯 不知是否客滿而我們又是坐在房間內的關係,找個侍應都很難,一有侍應入房,幾乎要每檯停一停,雙手收滿碟先走得,幸好檯夠大,尚有空間放未來得及被收走的碟子,但少不免還是有擠迫的感覺… 食物方面:睇返之前其他食評,發現雖然主題改左做「泰和味」火窩,但其實所提供o既食物同之前無大分別,只係多左個小火鍋比你"烚下烚下",湯底可選冬陰公(辣)或椰子雞(清淡得很)每二人一碟火鍋料,有牛肉、蜆兩隻等等,另外可以自取的火鍋料則只有菜、冬菇、粉絲、豆卜等普通配料... 這個火鍋不吃也罷,倒不如留肚吃其他的!生蠔新鮮大隻,連一向不敢食生蠔的我也忍不住試了幾隻!正!其他尚有凍蟹、青口、長蟹腳等。剌身款式只

環境方面:
當日下午才去訂位,發現外面已經full booking了,所以一行四人要坐所謂的VIP房

酒店餐廳環境有整潔優雅的感覺,而且坐房內反而不似坐外面般吵和人來人往,也不錯

不知是否客滿而我們又是坐在房間內的關係,找個侍應都很難,一有侍應入房,幾乎要每檯停一停,雙手收滿碟先走得,幸好檯夠大,尚有空間放未來得及被收走的碟子,但少不免還是有擠迫的感覺…

食物方面:
睇返之前其他食評,發現雖然主題改左做「泰和味」火窩,但其實所提供o既食物同之前無大分別,只係多左個小火鍋比你"烚下烚下",湯底可選冬陰公(辣)或椰子雞(清淡得很)
每二人一碟火鍋料,有牛肉、蜆兩隻等等,另外可以自取的火鍋料則只有菜、冬菇、粉絲、豆卜等普通配料...

這個火鍋不吃也罷,倒不如留肚吃其他的!
生蠔新鮮大隻,連一向不敢食生蠔的我也忍不住試了幾隻!正!

其他尚有凍蟹、青口、長蟹腳等。
剌身款式只有三數款,三文魚肥美~另有各式壽司
甜品種類多:Cheese Cake、布丁、梳乎里、芒果黑糯米、雪糕、朱古力噴泉、中式糖水
我恨不得生多幾個胃啊!

其實食物種類繁多,有點心、中式美食、印度咖哩、泡菜和牛、椒鹽瀨尿蝦等等…
一晚都未試得晒全部

價錢方面:

有機會會再來食過!

今晚一行四人去香味屋, 整體上的食物都不錯~ 食得好滿足~ 生濠、魚生、長腳蟹好新鮮, 加上有薑茶提供, 食多左生冷野, 不妨可飲一杯薑茶, 肚仔都舒服d, 另有中式點心、多款熟食都好想試, 不過真的太豐富了, 不可以全部食哂~甜品種類頗多, 雪糕有多種口味, 正~加上有七五折, 每人都不用三百元, 都算物超所值, 值得一去~不過, 那個火鍋實在名過其實, 因為火鍋料實在太一般, 完全不吸引~ 整體上算ok啦~

食得好滿足~

不過, 那個火鍋實在名過其實, 因為火鍋料實在太一般,
完全不吸引~

因為openrice有coupon 75折~最後今日~
So,呢晚同honey黎左試宵夜puffet ~
(但當日上黎openrice再睇, 又出左新coupon ,不過就轉左8折~)
遲遲少少先去到~10點10分度啦.
太耐冇去尖咀, 要搵一陣先搵到搵到呢度!
由於我已經訂左位, 被安排坐0係好近拎野食既位置.
隔離就已經係”和牛”檔~ 哈哈~gd~!!
同honey 行左轉, 食物不多, 不過d野都ok.
同埋refill 得真係勁快.
這邊廂大家夾生蠔夾到7 7 8 8 , 另一邊廂已經有廚師拎緊d蠔出黎.

生蠔ok新鮮~連平時唔太食生蠔既我,都食左6,7隻!
刺身好似得2款, 三文魚同”唔知咩魚”~不過都ok.
但我最鍾意既煙三文魚就冇….>__<

印度咖哩都有幾隻, 不過唔係我杯茶!
本來拎咖啡雞, 點知拎左隻蛋番黎..~craxy!
中式點心都有幾款, 蝦餃,燒賣,小籠包.
但坦白講…我覺得似係”公仔點心”!!!佢地只係買穡黎蒸熟佢!
“哈根大” 雪榚任食,不過好多人”不”, 又好難”不”喎.,.
所以同honey都食得不多.
甜品,我拎左一round就冇再拎lu..
不太吸引~味道ok啦…!
生滾粥 , 可以只選配料,
又係揀左料, 俾廚師再放但個牌仔.
攪掂再送俾你的.

差d唔記得左個個主題 “和牛”~
個”和牛”真係幾好味!
每枱有一個牌仔.只要放個牌去和牛檔度.佢整好就會送佢你枱度.
唔洗企起度等的!!!!
不過每枱只有一個牌, 每次一碟,
如果係好多人一張枱就煩d lu.
可能每人想試一舊都要幾轉先得.
我同honey2個人就冇咁既問題啦~
我地total 起碼食左7,8碟~哈哈~
原價 $158 , 75折後 連加一~
埋單$268.6, 一人 $134.3~
Honey同我都覺得ok抵~
仲食得勁飽
不過如果冇coupon 就要唸唸lu..~

p.s 個puffet 食到12點的. 當我地離開時,想去廁所, 點知d staff 話d門已經鎖左, 叫我地去商場果個!但商場廁所12點都閂埋~最後我地入番酒店~
去左地下lobby 個toilet, 又好攪笑, lobby個toilet得一格! 酒店lobby喎!
希望酒店可以改善吓,,等食完puffet既客人,去埋toilet先鎖門都得掛!

見食評這麼好,又有75折所以生日飯設於這裡!冷盤ok,生蠔很新鮮肥美,魚生,青口和蝦普普通通,沙律款式不多但新鮮,但那些凍蟹很有問題,有些竟然是臭的熱盤選擇不多但味道都還好,特別是那個咖哩羊,咖哩味和羊肉味很配合,印度燒雞又滑又有肉汁,現在做泰式火鍋的推廣,選了冬陰功湯底,有海鮮,肥牛和牛肉粒跟上,味道是很濃很香同時亦很口乾;甜品就......,不過有4款H仔雪糕補數,good人手明顯不足,加水收碟要叫才有空做,但全程都很有禮貌!昨天weekday都full house,宵夜又有很多人等,有75折coupon可以用,我覺得是值得推薦的,但如果是原價$308的話,我覺得還有其他更好的可以選擇!
