Love this place to bits - it's a place that you must visit if you're holidaying in Hong Kong island. Prices are higher than the normal Hong Kong styled tea houses (chaa chaan teng) - because this one is the champion of them all. One of the things that make this place unique - is that they have an in house bakery and you can order your standard HK fare (satay beef instant noodles/milk tea/friend egg) WITH a thick-cut butter in a pineapple bun. Most other HK tea houses no longer bake their own breads or out right refuse to serve a pineapple bun with their breakfast meals as an add-on.
I do not have words to describe this place - its amazingly well crafted buttery bread, and balance goodness of satay and noodles. A classic comfort food in Hong Kong. They also have an English menu, if your Chinese isn't up to scratch.
題外話/補充資料:
Open very early and does not do dinner, and be prepared to share a table with a stranger. If you are a 'larger' person, please take note that seats are very tight/small and has very little room for any luggage.
If you find yourself with a HUGE crowd waiting for a seat - suggest getting any pastry as a takeaway. These are also very well made!
Make sure you take the little white paper (with numbers) to the table to pay!
Can be packed during peak hours - recommend either weekdays or very early on weekends.
Like every ole HK eatery - it's sit, eat and leave!! Cash only
