Went here for a bubble tea. Right near by are 3 other bubble tea places, there may be more that I missed out on. This place is located on a very busy intersection with lots of street foods available (local HK street food, Crumbs (scone and frozen yogurt), Ireland's Potatoe (french fries, etc.) and Bite Bite (hot dogs)).
Food: Ordered the original bubble tea. Comes in one size, $12. I didn't know that they even offered low-sugar option (until I read a few posts here). I have to admit - initially the bubble tea was slightly too sweet! I can smell the very fragrant tea though. Once halfway down, the big crushed ice helped to dilute the over-sweetness. The tapioca pearls were medium sized and good texture and sweetness. I'd definitely recommend people order low-sugar option to spare your cavities and the overall enjoyment.
Sizing it up: Ok, I tried this place rather than the other ones due to the simple fact that this one is busy/packed while the rest were not. Makes sense. But I'm not sure that there is that much of a taste difference between them all. I've tried One More Time, which also has a wait due to the fact its located strategically next to Ireland's Potato. And OMT was good too... Though I would have to admit Gong Cha has a more attractive menu and marketing - comes off more traditional believable Taiwanese style, like they are experts. The wait wasn't that bad though - like 7 ppl in front of me - but I'm sure it could get more crowded on certain times. Remember - LOW SUGAR!
