一班朋友約食飯, 其中友人提議吃沖繩料理. 其實由知道沙田有一家沖繩料理店之後就一直都很想試, 可惜兩年間仍然只得個想字... 友人說他之前有朋友吃過尖沙咀的這一家覺得很不錯, 所以就向他推介, 他就帶了我們一行五人一起來吃一次不一樣的日本料理~是夜菜單:豚肉炒苦瓜其實我除了小時候吃過一次"苦過弟弟"的苦瓜後就碰都不碰了... 不過因為苦瓜的菜色是沖繩料理必食的食材, 所以在覺得"起碼都要吃一口, 試一試"的情況下吃了我這十多年後的苦瓜. 卻給了我很大的驚喜! 沒想過苦瓜可以這麼好吃! 我反而不覺得它很苦, 而是透着濃濃的甘香. 配上清淡口味的雞蛋和豚肉, 是很美味的配搭呢! 想不到的是, 最後是由我清了這一碟的! haha!!海葡萄另一沖繩料理必食菜色. 因為只有沖繩才吃得到海葡萄的. 口感很有趣, 有點像吃一串串的蟹子, 在咀裡邊"卜卜聲"的, 配上那酸酸的醮沖, 好開胃呢!沖繩炒蜆感覺上有點像我們的豉椒炒蜆, 但味道比較清淡, 反而更能顯出蜆的鮮味, 不錯~厚切牛舌好好味! 之前就說過厚切牛舌很少餐廳有供應, 要做得好的話就更少, 但這個真的很好吃! 味道固然

豚肉炒苦瓜

其實我除了小時候吃過一次"苦過弟弟"的苦瓜後就碰都不碰了... 不過因為苦瓜的菜色是沖繩料理必食的食材, 所以在覺得"起碼都要吃一口, 試一試"的情況下吃了我這十多年後的苦瓜. 卻給了我很大的驚喜! 沒想過苦瓜可以這麼好吃! 我反而不覺得它很苦, 而是透着濃濃的甘香. 配上清淡口味的雞蛋和豚肉, 是很美味的配搭呢! 想不到的是, 最後是由我清了這一碟的! haha!!

海葡萄

另一沖繩料理必食菜色. 因為只有沖繩才吃得到海葡萄的. 口感很有趣, 有點像吃一串串的蟹子, 在咀裡邊"卜卜聲"的, 配上那酸酸的醮沖, 好開胃呢!

沖繩炒蜆

感覺上有點像我們的豉椒炒蜆, 但味道比較清淡, 反而更能顯出蜆的鮮味, 不錯~

厚切牛舌

好好味! 之前就說過厚切牛舌很少餐廳有供應, 要做得好的話就更少, 但這個真的很好吃! 味道固然之好, 而且牛舌粒都很嫩很鬆軟, 再加上我第一次吃這樣的做法, 個人是夜最喜歡的一道是也!

沖繩豚肉沙律

配上芝麻醬的沙律, 好吃, 但沒什麼特別, 可以一試.

豚肉墨魚汁麵

又是豚肉? 沒錯, 又是豚肉, 沖繩料理似乎是會經常用上豚肉吧! 味道有點太淡, 就這樣.

串燒併盤

有冬菇, 雞軟骨, 雞肉, 大蔥等多樣串燒, 全部都很不錯, 一大班人的話是必點之選.

蕃茄八爪魚

配搭非常新鮮的一道! 從來沒想過蕃茄可以配上八爪魚, 而且夾出來的效果這麼好!

鹽燒牛舌

這次來個薄燒, 很多地方通常都只會用鹽, 這裡加上了一點點的黑椒, 雖然我自己不太喜歡黑椒, 但也覺得味道不錯.

沖繩腐乳

哈! 哈哈!! 好不好吃呢? 真的是"鹹魚青菜各有喜愛"~ 我是個喜歡吃腐乳的人, 而這一小磚腐乳味道真的很濃烈, 只需吃一小口就已經很足夠.

炒麵

男人們覺得不夠呸而再點的一道, 我沒有吃所以不知道, 不過他們說味道不錯, 而我看上去盲覺得有點像少意粉呢!

很好吃也很得很滿足的一餐, 唯一遺憾是她們沒有同樣是沖繩特產的仙人掌麵, 雖然不知道味道是怎樣, 但好想試呢~

p.s. 菜名應該都店裡的餐牌有出入, 因為這一餐忘了keep單, 所以也忘了那些菜色的名字了...

I haven't been to this place in a few months, but since there's only one review, I felt that I might as well give my two cents! This restaurant is part of the En (宴) group - http://en.com.hk/ - a group of restaurants that brings primarily Okinawan cuisine to our humble home. I've been here multiple times, bringing friends and family, so this review is an amalgamation of the good and bad of those few times.

The first noticeable thing upon entering is the dense smoke and noisy chatter of Japanese - always a good sign for a Japanese restaurant / izakaya. Although it boasts Okinawan far, they also have a some standard Japanese fare, with yakitori, hot pot, and noodles (soba / udon). However, if you come here, I recommend trying some things that are not on the menu of typical Japanese restaurants.

I haven't been here in a while, and cannot remember the Japanese name of the dishes. I've outlined the main ingredient of each dish. But they have English names on the menu, so it should not be a problem.

A few memorable dishes are the stir fried carrots and pork (にんじん焼き), and the stewed pork (らふて). The pork is tender with a sweet / savoury combination that balances nicely, and resembles some Chinese dishes. The stir-fry is a great combination for beer lovers, and feels healthy.

On different occasions, we've tried some noodles, yakitori, even sushi. But the only dish I whole-heartedly recommend - and everyone I've brought here absolutely loves it - is the tuna jaw (まぐろのあご) . It isn't on the regular menu (either on "seasonal specials" or completely off it), so make sure you ask them if they have it! It is grilled with salt and pepper, and aside from the ridiculously pricey belly (とろ), it is the juiciest party of the fish. Although pricey, it should be enough to fill two, and will leave you wanting more. I swear that last time we went, we ordered two portions because one simply was not enough.

Word of Warning: if you go to the restaurant late, or if it isn't in season, they might not have this delectable treat. Be careful if they suggest another fish, most of the time they'll charge a dear price, but it will be nowhere as good or filling as the tuna jaw.

This place is also a great place for Japanese drinks - they have an extensive list of beer (draft and bottled), sake, shochu, and most importantly Okinawan Awamori (泡盛).

The restaurant is a tad pricey, and definitely not for a regular night out. But keeping costs down by just ordering the basics - including the tuna jaw - and some drinks might turn it into a night to remember.

I ended up writing this review on this Linkage because its I think its the more proper and recent one. EN Groups seems to have separated into 2 business models lately - namely the Okinawa food based restaurants, also the Dining and Grilling Group restaurants (with a new shop in Central). There's also a Wagyu Grilled Meat restaurant. IN REALITY, they're all inter-mixed somehow as most shops carry some Okinawa food, whereas in this shop, it also carries normal Izakaya food as well as ALL YOU CAN EAT Hot Pot.
Ordered the following, which was a fair while ago roughly 4 months before.
Please note that I do not know how to re-write these items in Japanese, as the Okinawan language and food names are completely different from the mainland and without much resemblances. Its even more difficult than the Kyoto or Hokkaido food terms somewhat! The most I know about Okinawa is 安室內美惠!

Starter - A Hijiki seaweed salad from the kitchen.

Fermented Red Bean Curd
- Slightly sweet, very similar to 腐腐 and 南乳 in taste but much milder. I have had this before but I was impressed again by this re-visit, really enjoyed it.
海葡萄 - A typical popular dish just like Peanut Tofu (not ordered tonight) when eating Okinawan food, this actually resembles green Tobikko roes a little bit but it was sweetish and refreshing, its a type of seaweed - like 海底椰, its purely Vegetarian. Note that the similarly named 海菠萝 is actually a 'live seafood' in comparison. Came with a vinegary sauce which worked well together.
Pork Shabu Salad - This has a typical Japanese name so not sure if its Okinawan in nature. Very nicely done with a accurately balanced sesame dressing. Everyone loved it despite it being a simple dish, as the pork was sweet and the salad dressing spot on.
Okinawa Squid Ink Noodles - This isn't the normally available off the shelf noodles mixed in with pre-bought squid ink, it was hand-made and rolled in with squid ink then cooked in the respective sauce. The noodle texture was spot-on perfect, its about half way between a Ramen and an Udon in size and texture. Came with Garlic Shoots and Calamari, mixed in with a bit of garlicky sauce and chilli influence. This isn't the first time I've had it but its addictive whenever I eat this version and here, they're got it very spot on perfect. Only gripe = it was slightly too tepid in temperature.
Fried Goya (Bitter Gourd) Chips - Not ordering the more normal stir-fried Goya with eggs and pork dish that night, we wanted to try this as we were going to have a lot of beer and this suited it better, plus Bitter Gourds out of season in March/April would have been too bitter with our Asahi's. This was topped with Bonito. Again, a very simple dish but very expertly executed, it was slightly too oily though but expected. Loved it to death, especially the bitter gourd flavour penetrating through from inside the crispy texture.
Deep Fried Fresh Prawns - These actually looked like non sea-water prawns so it was a bit misleading. Having said that, these prawns had a lot of prawn meat taste and they had a really good, bouncy texture. Again, we were amazed how this was executed perfectly, with just the right amount of batter and seasoning was spot on.

Perhaps coming here without much expectations, everyone on the table felt the food was of a very high quality and worth a come back whenever there's a Okinawa food craving (although I'm not a big fan). Not sure if the other En shops are like this but I personally thought everything that night was perfect and tasted very Japanese authentic somewhat, one of the most authentic and accurate meals I've experienced locally.
Service was top notch as well, the Chinese Waitress, Japanese Waitress and a Japanese Waiter/Manager were ultra friendly yet professional, it was like dining in a high class izakaya in Tokyo. Even the beers were ice-cold and didn't lose any of its original flavours - which you can't take for granted with Draft Beers (nor Soda Machine made Colas). The dining setting was also classical modern Japanese. In fact every other customer on that night were Japanese bar us.
I think normally I wouldn't give such a place such high praise, especially knowing that this is part of a bigger group and also the Okinawa food style isn't exactly rocket science stuff - in normal circumstances I would have given it a '4' at most. However we simply couldn't even find 1 major flaw tonight except the fried Goya being slightly oily or the squid ink noodles being a bit cold. We all left very happy, in fact we contemplated re-ordering more 'repetitive' dishes on that same night. It was certainly better than some Okinawa meals I tried in Tokyo, although I have never been to Okinawa before.

I will stick to marking it a '4' but it probably deserved a mid-'5' that night, due to cooking and seasoning being so spot on alone.
Will be back again for certain, let's see if it performs as before or we were just lucky that night! **Not rating the All You Can Eat Shabu Shabu or other Izakaya dishes though, that will be another story.** LOVELY MEAL THAT I WILL REMEMBER.

五月廿三.熱要交代一些事情,記得這裡平日訂都要等,但周日卻是水盡鵝飛,靠任吃涮涮鍋同Beer Buffet幫補,是夜打些小吃傾下之後安排。同En Grp其他琉球群島餐廳一樣,放滿代表當地泡盛,或見家門前石獅子,甚有民眾特色。是夜全場小貓三幾隻,是夜用寧靜來形容居酒屋的氣氛,似乎有點矛盾,但實情如是。小來一味堅魚牛油果沙律,似乎是芝士酒盜的西日版,堅魚腸鹹鮮帶微微麵豉的甜,切得不夠仔細,要花點牙力處理,牛油果獨立吃是香滑油潤,以滑身材料代替芝士,口感還可以,但味道卻有點格格不入感覺。自家製豆腐經常吃到,鈴木的做得不錯,這裡與太古那霸同樣是花生豆腐,是地方特色,軟身又帶點大豆粗糙質感,只有薄薄的花生香,要靠薑及木魚水稀釋的醬油提味,聽對方說那霸那邊花生味更重,會找個機會試試的。對方提議的琉球群島腐乳,方粒小磚,帶著紅穀米做成色澤,有大豆發酵產生的豆香,味唔算好鹹,比起內地大部分腐乳味道無咁「化學」,如果說配生啤好吃的話,倒不如叫碗白飯,加條燒魚,已經是豐富又美味的一餐了!還有單味的苦瓜炒豚肉,琉球群島產的苦瓜是自己最愛,甘濃爽口配起蛋花及豚肉是不吃不嫌一味,每到這裡風格餐廳,也會叫來吃。埋

開飯之選來到一間居食屋,此店位於金馬倫道, 一壽司隔離, 7-11對面侍應問我想唔想坐他他咪,我就只係想坐普通枱,因為怕腳痺,先叫兩枝asahi(買一送一),有好多野都做緊半價,當然係比較高既價錢減半啦三人食一個大蟹鍋,有菜有蟹腳同多種配料,但係唔覺有咩特別,湯底係無味既水;卷物味道唔錯,壽司飯有日本風味,幾好食要介紹係佢地既燒物,特別係個燒牛舌,一定要食!!環境唔係太嘈,係傾計食飯既一個唔錯既地方

開飯之選來到一間居食屋,此店位於金馬倫道, 一壽司隔離, 7-11對面

侍應問我想唔想坐他他咪,我就只係想坐普通枱,因為怕腳痺,先叫兩枝asahi(買一送一),有好多野都做緊半價,當然係比較高既價錢減半啦


三人食一個大蟹鍋,有菜有蟹腳同多種配料,但係唔覺有咩特別,湯底係無味既水;卷物味道唔錯,壽司飯有日本風味,幾好食

要介紹係佢地既燒物,特別係個燒牛舌,一定要食!!


環境唔係太嘈,係傾計食飯既一個唔錯既地方

古酒家 宴位於金馬倫道一座商業大夏既閣樓, 一點都不起眼, 係因為朋友去我先知有這間餐廳~睇到標題唔好以為只係食串燒,事實上係一間日式居酒屋,客人以日本人居多, 比較多係嚟飲酒傾計.. 而我呢, 當然係嚟品嚐美食啦因為得兩個人關係, 唔可以點太多, 只要了燒冬菇, 和牛, 雞軟骨各兩串, (十蚊一串), 另外再要了關東煮, 墨魚汁炒飯同豬骨拉麵~串燒味道幾好, 特別係個串燒和牛 (廿蚊一串), 肉質好軟熟, 牛肉味香, 有再加多幾串的衝動, 另外燒冬菇都幾好, 唔會硬, 提供了一些黃芥辣點串燒食, 調味唔多, 盡量食原味既感覺~關東煮隻雞蛋幾入味, 串牛腩味道好好, 食到脂肪位更覺牛味香澴, 木薯爽口, 又係好食既一道菜墨魚汁炒飯有驚喜, 黑monk monk既飯食落先覺味道原來好好, 唔會苦, 以為墨汁會苦, 哈哈~ 不過配料唔多, 只係加左隻雞蛋食, 但係味道真係好好~拉麵都好有日本味, 如果食日本野, 呢度都會係我不二之選~

因為得兩個人關係, 唔可以點太多, 只要了燒冬菇, 和牛, 雞軟骨各兩串, (十蚊一串), 另外再要了關東煮, 墨魚汁炒飯同豬骨拉麵~

串燒味道幾好, 特別係個串燒和牛 (廿蚊一串), 肉質好軟熟, 牛肉味香, 有再加多幾串的衝動
, 另外燒冬菇都幾好, 唔會硬, 提供了一些黃芥辣點串燒食, 調味唔多, 盡量食原味既感覺~

關東煮隻雞蛋幾入味, 串牛腩味道好好, 食到脂肪位更覺牛味香澴, 木薯爽口, 又係好食既一道菜


墨魚汁炒飯有驚喜, 黑monk monk既飯食落先覺味道原來好好, 唔會苦, 以為墨汁會苦, 哈哈~ 不過配料唔多, 只係加左隻雞蛋食, 但係味道真係好好~

拉麵都好有日本味, 如果食日本野, 呢度都會係我不二之選~

同妹妹兩個人去食..叫既野唔多..熱道庭烏冬,壽司拚盆,札幌煮,燒魔鬼魚次,一枝啤酒!五百四十蚊!價錢唔平,味道只有合個好似關東煮既札幌煮好一點,壽司拚盆味道ok,但二百蚊六件加六件青瓜卷有點不值!

價錢唔平,味道只有合個好似關東煮既札幌煮好一點,壽司拚盆味道ok,但二百蚊六件加六件青瓜卷有點不值!

是次Order魚生) OK合格, 同普通日本料理質素差唔多(厚牛舌) 細舊, 冇味!(炸魚) 勁腥(燒飯團) 冇料到, 冇味(炒幼麵) 全部最好食係呢樣, 但細碟份量少, 幾貴,(呢d價錢, 其實出面d日本料理可以食到好多o野喇) 服務一般, 只顧招呼日本人, 最差係餐廳d日本人食煙, d waiter又唔理!!!真係想打電話去投訴, 不過唔喇, 我都唔會再有下次!! 呢間o野唯一可取既係有個日本娃娃既waiter, 幾索!!

同朋友o黎食, 一入去見到d著和服既日本藉waitress...入夜越來越多人...但發現全場都係日本人...除左我地...都幾好feel...叫左清酒($150)活魚刺身(好似大概$180) - 好味呀~!壽司拼盤小(好似大概$150) - 有6件小青瓜壽司, 一件帶子, 一件蝦, 兩件白魚, 一件八爪魚, 都唔錯, 蝦超鮮雞皮串燒($3x) - 脆脆地~送酒十分好雞肝串燒($3x) - 都好味呀燒秋刀魚($90) - 好味~good~!埋單好似七百幾...但環境同feel都好好, 味道亦都好
