對,去年在馬來西亞旅行的時候,久久還記著黃亞細的雞翼,和那些動人無比的叻沙。雖然呢個係一個好悶既國家,但我每一會兒我就會想起那些娘惹美食,思念是一種很玄的東西,就是這種想念,令我特別會留意香港有什麼好吃的娘惹美食。你曾經告訴我,在我們的母校附近有一間娘惹美食新開的,你不下三四次告訴我,你去吃過幾次,而且吃到和老闆很熟稔,你會建議佢派傳單,建議佢做marketing ,全因你喜歡那種味,全因你欣賞老闆兩公婆的簡單風格。於是,在西環這晚飲完杯酒後,突然,思念的情緒油然而生,在openrice裡看看這間店的開放和關門時間,剛剛好,可以來個晚飯,於是,過來一解我的雙重思念。思念有雙重,大概,有感情的你會明白。呢間舖叫娘惹嫁到。店很小,當晚八時坐了五個人已經滿座,幸好,有一枱差不多走了,等了幾分鐘就可以入座,後面的一對情侶,唔好意思了,另外個張枱應該冇咁早走。等位途中,想想吃什麼罷,本想叫娘惹蟹白咖哩麵,但原來要自己攞蟹過黎,冇得食。叻沙是必吃的,除了叻沙,那麼就叫多個老闆不斷說好吃的雞腿飯罷。甲必丹咖哩雞腿飯,看樣子也知道對辦。老闆不斷同隔離枱稱讚其雞腿有幾好吃,我就知道冇選錯。雞腿的肉軟綠綿

店很小,當晚八時坐了五個人已經滿座,幸好,有一枱差不多走了,等了幾分鐘就可以入座,後面的一對情侶,唔好意思了,另外個張枱應該冇咁早走。

叻沙是必吃的,除了叻沙,那麼就叫多個老闆不斷說好吃的雞腿飯罷。

甲必丹咖哩雞腿飯,看樣子也知道對辦。老闆不斷同隔離枱稱讚其雞腿有幾好吃,我就知道冇選錯。雞腿的肉軟綠綿綿,輕輕用筷子夾一下已將骨肉分離,令我想起上水的林德記雞翼河那些銷魂雞翼,一樣軟得連冇牙都可以吃。

那個咖哩深深地註入雞肉裡,美味無限。加上每碟飯有半隻烚蛋,香草飯和青瓜,香草飯粒粒有米氣,煙韌之餘沾上咖哩自然是更美味,青瓜清爽juicy又新鮮,消取了只有雞腿的肉感,健康清新一點。

唯一不好處係太細碟,好吃得我一粒飯也沒有剩,不過,正常,就算馬來西亞的地道碟頭飯,也是這樣䄂珍的。

吃鮮蝦叻沙,是我最期待的一刻,因為你說這是最好吃的。雖然沒有螄蛤,但其樣子已告訴你沒有螄蛤佢還可以是一碗好的叻沙。

最出色的不是其鮮蝦,佢只係有較普通的表現,它只是普通的蝦肉,最出色的應該係其馬來西亞深海魚蛋。

魚蛋來自馬來西亞,肉質極度爽口,有彈性,每一啖都充滿魚味,每粒魚蛋裡面其組織都係充滿滿載而歸的鮮魚肉味,有著從前香港魚蛋粉全盛時期全是大地魚為主的魚蛋那個年代的氣息。

不是本身吃了點東西,我想叫一碗剩魚蛋來吃,不過,夜晚流流,唔夠膽食太多才作罷。

講番碗叻沙,除了魚蛋出色外,其他配菜都非常合作,豆卜,芽菜,油麵,烚蛋都做了個很好的綠葉,全因其湯底係十分出色的靈魂,每樣索左其叻沙湯底後都令人開胃得很,特別係其油麵,沒有用馬來西亞本身的麵種,反而用上中國的油麵,是十分聰明的選擇,因為油麵能把所有精華都發揮得淋漓盡致。

飲一口湯,濃濃的叻沙充滿奶味又香又惹味。

吃到大半,後面那對小情侶也等不及了,因為好多食物已告沽清。

其實我來的時候八點多,很多食物都已經沒有了,如果你看完文章專程過來,請你打電話過來,免得像他們一樣,我幸好吃到最後一隻雞腿。

不過,其實我都唔係幾好彩,想叫野飲,什麼吸引力無窮的斑蘭特飲,香茅特飲,全部都明天請早。

本身還點了個咖央多,不過可能人手不夠,本身想係餐前小吃,卻係吃完飯和叻沙後才來。

我吃過新加坡的阿坤,也吃過香港的,的確味道好不好見人見致,我是喜歡的,在這裡見到的咖央多還加上斑蘭,係一大驚喜。

麵包鬆脆得很,自製斑蘭咖央多士味道新奇且不錯,斑蘭多士一拿起,就斑蘭醬汁瀉到手上,很喜歡那斑蘭的幽香,令我想起新加坡的那個出名的斑蘭蛋糕,不知何時,再有機會吃呢。

這刻,我在想,除了叻沙外,不知你喜不喜歡這個多士,多想打個電話給你,或者那刻就告訴老闆,因為你的推薦,我今晚特登過來,不過,太突兀了,就讓思念放在心吧。

幾個小時後,我send了張相給你,告訴你我去了這裡,不過,你好像不怎樣雀躍,或者,是我想太多吧,我以為你因為我愛屋及烏而高興,就如我愛林德記一樣。

對,思念是一種很玄的東西。

單身男女中,像方啟宏一樣,唱著我願意也不代表程子欣會選他,我還是應該去吃多碗叻沙。

看見老闆兩公婆的恩愛,簡單,我會想,其實,思念並又不是很玄,是每天的努力經營,像他們經營這小店,我相信後面的心機和意志並不太少。

思念太多,對身體有害,還是單方面思念叻沙,起碼我會有一點慰藉吧。

I discovered this tiny cafe when I went to print my thesis at the nearby print shop, and am now making regular visits to try all the dishes. The laksa is flavorful and reminded me of the street stalls on Penang. The crab curry was gorgeous with the fresh curry leaves, and the beef rendang was rich with whole spices. I've also tried the pandan drink and lemongrass drink, made with fresh herbs and very nice. There are specials written on the board every day.  It's very popular at lunchtime when th

The chef really wants to share authentic Nyonya cooking with customers - it's very rare to find such authenticity these days.

It is a small joint located on the corner of Water Street.
There are about six seats inside but no air conditioning so it is sweltering if you eat there.
I haven't been to Malaysia before but it feels like Malaysia because it is so hot in there.

The menu is really good because there are quite a lot of choices of vegetarians ranging from vegetarian laksas and curries with a choice of pumpkin or okra.

A joke for Hongkongers or those who can read Chinese.

The food there was really affordable so I ended up ordering lots of stuff.

They also had kaya toast which is the new hype at Ka Yun.

去年,深秋。與食家們大閘蟹宴上同歡後,自此進入冬眠狀態,一睡半年。 今年,春夏之交。另一個食家的聚會,把我從睡夢中喚醒。今天,復活節長週末的首天。一陣咖喱香氣,讓我也隨著時節,復活了! 試業期間,賣的菜式沒幾樣,點了娘惹雞肉叻沙甲必丹咖喱雞腿配椰香飯。香港人吃慣的『叻沙』,馬來的親人說其實叫『咖喱麵』或『咖喱叻沙』,而且帶我們吃過真正的『馬拉叻沙』;年代太久遠,只記得深啡色的湯底,味道是啥也忘了。
眼前的這碗,『色』交出了鮮豔的黄,但『香』和『味』(特別是椰汁)都有所欠缺。希望正式營業時,拿揑得會比較準。

至於飯,驚喜的是雞腿不是另煮、放飯面再澆汁的,而是放在咖喱中同熬的,所以上菜時雞肉都腍得很、徹底入味,連那根骨也脆得可以輕易咬開
。但椰漿飯則叫我有些失望:飯身煮得甚濕,但椰漿卻下得不夠,以致香味欠奉;加上咖喱汁多,吃起來蠻水汪汪的。

又點了杯香茅特飲。見過香茅的,都知道其形狀真是一枝茅咁
,所以廚師選擇把它磨爛,再製成特飲。香茅是香,但沒甚麼味道,所以特飲最突出的是其甜味。始料不及的是,因香茅被磨爛了,而且沉底,所以吸管常吸著香茅渣
。個人認為可先隔渣。

可能廚師見我倆食得開心又好傾,所以請我們吃班蘭多士
。一聽見是自家製的班蘭醬
,期望馬上被提高,但入口時又發覺香味不足。另外店方是選用生命麵包的,但件頭和口感都和麵包店新鮮出爐的大相逕庭,所以我們都力勸廚師用回新鮮方包。

Authentic Penang Cuisine near home! What! Seeing that the prices were fairly reasonably priced, I had to give it a visit.Environment, Hygiene & Service:I found out that this place is run by a couple by talking to the guy who helped me out the day I visited. He was the owner's friend and was very friendly and informative. He told me what was unique about the different dishes and made recommendations.   I was told the chef/owner worked at a hotel in Malaysia before venturing out on his own, so $28

I found out that this place is run by a couple by talking to the guy who helped me out the day I visited. He was the owner's friend and was very friendly and informative. He told me what was unique about the different dishes and made recommendations.  
 I was told the chef/owner worked at a hotel in Malaysia before venturing out on his own, so $28-$48 for good authentic food seems like a good deal to me.

This place is quite small, but they managed to fit in a few chairs inside for a quick dine in. It looked messy inside, but I do believe the hygiene is okay. I've walked by a few times since this visit, and have noticed that their menu continues to expand . 

Taste & Value:
Pineapple Baba Coconut Prawn (3 pc) with Coconut Rice ($48) This was soso. This was too tropical for my taste and the prawns were a little overcooked. The sauce was okay though, it was different.

Kaptian Chicken Curry with Coconut Rice ($28) The flavours were exoctic, but mild. I personally liked the sauce above more. The chicken was tender.

Both came with coconut rice, half a hard-boiled egg and slices of cucumbers. The rice was a little wet and I honestly couldn't really taste the coconut?

Pandan Drink ($10) A very unique drink that I recommend. I have never had such a drink before. The pandan was strong, so definitely try it if you're a pandan fan. However, it was quite sweet.

Final Verdict:
The service was excellent, and the food was unique. I would suggest this place to a friend.
