從來未見過仲有咁差服務態度, 小妹7月初訂尖沙咀分店,到7月中 check booking,竟然搵唔到我booking, 咁我問佢即係有定無, 佢話無問題;然後仲早一日remind booking。咁星期日(19號) 我咪照去, 由我落order到飲完咖啡, 用45分鐘內完成兼在未有通知下,要我埋單交 ( 我以為食緊快餐) ,個位亞叔並且同佢同事相撞下, D咖啡奶仲淋落我個friend到, 我同個位亞叔理論, 我訂時你無話要我早交, 個位亞叔好似聽唔到我講,話好多人等叫我還, 咁我唯有照埋單,但仍然繼續坐, 點知過多一陣, 個位亞叔黑口黑面行埋同我講,話你要傾計叫我坐過另一張,嘩!咁都得,又唔見個位亞叔叫其他人, 我身為佢會員都覺得離蒲, 而仲有咁事發生一定要話比其他人知啦。

見到呢間店係 openrice 有咁多好評於是就去了試一下原來都係不外如是啫有日本師傅座陣,以為好正宗點知都係港式日本餐壽司飯就係得壽司同飯d 飯應該有落醋同飯素先對啊!同係CWB 嘅壽司處今村 SUSHI IMAMURA真係冇得比...魚頭湯無魚頭,得d魚骨不過味道尚可套餐除了包甜點外,重包餐飲,真係第一次喺日本壽司店見人飲凍檸茶之類,好似去咗茶餐廳呢!其實見佢無日本客人都知佢唔係好正宗收得咁嘅價錢,我絕對有要求啦否則,去元氣好過!http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/nklo/article?mid=1952

d 飯應該有落醋同飯素先對啊!

同係CWB 嘅壽司處今村 SUSHI IMAMURA真係冇得比...

魚頭湯無魚頭,得d魚骨

不過味道尚可

套餐除了包甜點外,重包餐飲,

真係第一次喺日本壽司店見人飲凍檸茶之類,好似去咗茶餐廳呢!

其實見佢無日本客人都知佢唔係好正宗

收得咁嘅價錢,我絕對有要求啦

否則,去元氣好過!

Never lunch in on a Monday.. makes the work week seems that much longer. Don't need a whole lot of excuse to eat well.. who needs one? With those basic rules in mind, my new project buddy E and I head off to Sushi Hiro to enjoy a no-surprises good-quality sashimi and sushi lunch. Instead of hitting the menu for lunch sets, we decided to treat ourselves to an assortment of the day's catch or shipment, as it were. Never lunch in on a Monday.. makes the work week seems that much longer. Don't need a whole lot of excuse to eat well.. who needs one? With those basic rules in mind, my new project buddy E and I head off to Sushi Hiro to enjoy a no-surprises good-quality sashimi and sushi lunch.

Instead of hitting the menu for lunch sets, we decided to treat ourselves to an assortment of the day's catch or shipment, as it were. As recommended by our friendly server, these included Botan Ebi (shrimp), Hamachi (yellowtail), and a very good cut of Toro (in the foreground). All generous thick cuts and extremely fresh.

As any good restaurant does, there is no waste and the shrimp head and tail are deep fried and re-served as an unhealthy little munchie. Too bad there was no sake to accompany it. It was a little too well fried and greasy for me, but acceptably tasty since it was very fresh in the first place.

For our main, E and I shared the 9-piece sushi platter. Ordinarily, this hits the spot immediately, but since we were spoiled by our fantastic sashimi starter, today's platter seemed more ordinary in quality than usual since the cuts are no where near the sashimi grade. Still happy with the variety although the Uni (sea urchin) was conspicuously missing today. With the miso soup and chawanmushi (which we were too full to get to), we were rather happy with ourselves.

Ending with a Japanese-style coffee, we were ready to brave a long afternoon of meetings once again. Happy Monday!

出糧又想食好些,對自己好些,當然係日本魚生啦!食好些就更唔係迴轉個隻啦!見到廣在尖沙咀有分店,又心郁郁想試下盛名已久的Sushi.星期五Walk-in居然有位兼只得三成客,於是膽粗粗坐Sushi Bar,無Menu但師父恭敬地問我們想吃什麼,問過budget由他發號,細心問過不可吃的list,感覺很受尊重,未吃已感覺良好。開始吃的是淡口的左口魚,但鮨邊的厚實彈牙之感,第一口已覺得很有意思。另外都吃了很多,比較難忘的有蝦,師父話係冰鮮,不同急凍,所以有蝦鮮味和彈又軟之感,吃魚生之妙莫非如此。還有最精彩的Toro,師父介照食個邊,因為唔多有, 有質感無"斤"。可以讚多讚的是配菜,D garlic 制得好好,保持原味又不過酸。美中不足係無蜜瓜只得柿做甜品,欠了一個甜美的結局!$950/each 我覺得係price performance 的!

請絕對不要對這裡抱有太大的期望,否則換來的是極大的失望。如果有名的貴價食店也不能經常保持水準,要客人一碰運氣,實枉收客人之費。兩次來都是吃晚餐,第一次來吃時,食物水準甚高,也會能人回味。可是,第二次再來的時候,水準明顯大幅度下降!!!不是說它不好吃,但不能令人深刻...先點了些刺身,賣相依然討好,但魚生算不上是揀手靚貨....5件TORO只有一件美味,整體不夠肥美,油香不夠;油甘魚腩,三文魚也是一般貨色,老實點說,跟平常在高級超市買到的差不遠;牡丹蝦算是okay.. 只是有些微起膠..吃過幾款刺身,已知今天運氣不佳,也不宜繼續大吃特吃,多點了幾件壽司便收手了。全晚最好吃的就是海膽壽司.. 聞說剛空運到港...埋單around $2000~ 又一worthless dinner~ 唉........!!這裡絕不如網友所言,"晚餐比得起錢就食到好野"...如果真的是來慕名一試,請選您運氣高的時候吧!!

5件TORO只有一件美味,整體不夠肥美,油香不夠;

老實點說,跟平常在高級超市買到的差不遠;
牡丹蝦算是okay.. 只是有些微起膠..

吃過幾款刺身,已知今天運氣不佳,
也不宜繼續大吃特吃,多點了幾件壽司便收手了。
全晚最好吃的就是海膽壽司.. 聞說剛空運到港...
埋單around $2000~ 又一worthless dinner~ 唉........!!

這裡絕不如網友所言,"晚餐比得起錢就食到好野"...
如果真的是來慕名一試,請選您運氣高的時候吧!!

STARTERS:
- 芝士同鰹魚腸酒盗 – Great taste of spicy marinated fish intestines and Japanese smooth cheese, but too small to enjoy with sake. Very expensive, around $70. Unbelievable the size of the dish. Taste 9.5/10. Portion 1/10 for $70.
- 醋之小池魚 – The small Aji was actually cooked/grilled before marination. Comes with 千切salad. 8.5/10
- Dining at the counter, you automatically get 2 small appetizers of a 海螺 and some quail egg in light broth with shirataki like noodles, plus a small glass of apperitif in the form of 桃酒. 6/10.

TSUKEMONO:
- Ordered a mixture of tsukemono, which consisted of pickled vegetables. Very professional. 10/10

>>
SOUP:
- Clear Broth Soup with Live Surf Clam added from Sushi Counter directly.

NIGIRI:
Personally, ordered the following -
平目魚 - 8/10 – Better as thinly sliced.
平政魚トロ – 9/10. Very crunchy yet flavoursome. Note this is fatty part, on request. Better than normal plainer taste but fatter hamachi.
鯵 (池魚) – 10/10. Out of season already, but surprisingly very good tonight, as good as it gets with a depth of flavour. Surprise of the night. Better than 深海池魚, which is unusual.
深海池魚 – 6/10. Not much sweetness to the flesh. Weird.
ほうぼう (彷伐?)- 9.5/10. Love this fish, cooked or raw. One of the uglier fishes, surprisingly still fatty at this time of year, almost as good as Kinki fish in sweetness and crunchiness.
石鯛 – 8.5/10. Don't know how to enjoy this, doesn't have much character, but it was fresh and chewy in a good way.
烏賊 – 9.5/10. One of the surprises tonight. Its ultra hard to get good cuttlefish served raw, probability is so low. Tonight, had a revelation as it was super sweet, with great knife work.
赤貝 (生)- 6/10. No taste tonight, strange, although it was served from alive. Not typical.
青瓜赤貝邊 - 8/10. Great knife work by the chef, dotted with sesame. I guess it overpowered the 'himo' though.
鳥貝 (生)- 10/10. As mentioned before. This was as good as it gets, I've simply not had better. Texture was sublime, tasted of the sea water. In Japan, this is a very cheap shellfish usually.
炙り赤睦 – 10/10. Skin flamegrilled, developed a smoky flavour which complimented the fish flesh, which was sweet and fat.
剝皮魚+魚肝 – 10/10. I've had this many times, but tonight's one was perfect, including the liver part. An inexpensive fish that punches above its weight.
飛ぶ魚 – 10/10. This was very special in a way, because it has all the good qualities of the sweetness and flaky texture of a 池魚, but without the flaws. Doesn't need the ginger and spring onion in my opinion.
北海道雲丹 – 7.5/10. This was very freshly flown in today, but it was not melty enough nor medium-large sized enough to have that surreal melts-in-mouth, ever lingering mouthfeel and sea taste experience (obviously, not looking for when it melts to a blob, especially during spawning season). Very disappointed, although no bitter endnote.
江戸前玉子 – 10/10. Sushi Hiro has limited pieces of this 'special', cake like type of 江戸前 style Tamago per night. Had a strong taste of white baits(?) fish taste, strong egg taste, perfect spongy texture. Apparently also had prawns in it to life it up in the flavour stake.

THE GOOD
*The nigiri shari was also of great quality. Not too sticky, perfectly seasoned.
*The nigiri size in tonight's instance was perfectly proportioned, one could really taste the seafood - unlike 2 previous experiences. 1 lunch experience in the same TST shop, as well as a night experience in the Causeway Bay shop.
*I think the TST shop is better than the Causeway Bay 本店 Shop, especially with shellfishes and also availability of 'whole' fishes rather than pre-filleted portions. I gave Causeway Bay Night experience '3' for last time.
THE BAD
*HOWEVER, tonight's nigiri's had too much overwhelming wasabi inside it. In fact, Sushi Hiro's WASABI is way too hot and not very aromatic, they should change back to freshly grated wasabi in my opinion.
*Way too expensive, considering it'll buy me a meal at Robuchon, Caprice, etc, where there's a lot more kitchen work involved.

Ended the night with Japanese strawberries – 好好味.甜又新鮮!
其實,當 '壽司廣 TST' 晚上, 你肯比錢的話,香港跟本喺無對手的,even 見城都要企埋少少.但係真係希望,佢地lunch可以起馬有85-90%嘅 Quality. 終於, 寫了9X 次 Open Rice 食評, 第一次係香港食到餐我在 OR 肯俾間餐廳 '5分' (Olala Charcuterie Shop 不算 la!). 其實可能仲會比多一至三間的,但食評還在進行中嘅.
Score = mid '5'

十數天前,經朋友介紹下.和男友去了這間日本料理吃晚餐.第一次來.環境有點昏暗..坐下了..問侍應生有什麼特別介紹...問了很久這位貌似泰國人的女侍應生...她也像表達不到我想知餐牌內的問題...於是我們有點不耐煩.男友說隨便點一些便好....我點了兩個壽司套餐..這個餐有吞拿魚.海膽,油甘魚..甜蝦.共有十數件..還有麪豉湯和一欵清湯,價錢370元尚算合理.味道也不錯..吃完了想問甜品是哪種..剛巧經過的又是這位女侍應...= "=她仍是說了一堆閒聊話題很久..最後才告訴我是綠茶..紅豆雪糕.....男友一邊看著也對我苦笑了一下...我當時其實沒想過問食物也要交待一番...埋單時800元多.事後推介我來試試的朋友問起我滿不滿意時..我告訴她,,,這兒食物質數不差,唯獨是服務有點奇怪..不太專業而且也未免太多話了..影響了當時吃餐的心情.希望這兒的員工能夠改善一下.顅及食客的感受也是重要的一節呢

事後推介我來試試的朋友問起我滿不滿意時..
我告訴她,,,這兒食物質數不差,唯獨是服務有點奇怪..不太專業
而且也未免太多話了..影響了當時吃餐的心情.
希望這兒的員工能夠改善一下.顅及食客的感受也是重要的一節呢

This restaurant is super expensive at night, but without getting a lot of food. Sushi/Sashimi prices range from $20-100 per piece, but the better fish/shellfish varieties mostly lie in the mid-range bracket. For example normal Sea Urchin might be $40 per piece, but higher end Hokkaido Sea Urchin would be $70-80 per piece! This PARTICULAR review is based on lunch, because its much cheaper than dinner, not dissimilar to 見城's lunch menu. One of us has the $290 + 10% Sushi set, giving you a choice of 16 pieces of sushi from a sheet of paper (which does not include everything available), also some 前菜, soup and tea or coffee. You can choose maximum 2 pieces per type of sushi, or you can choose 16 different types. Meaning, you can choose 2 pieces Chu-Toro and 2 pieces Uni/Urchin if you desire. The Urchin is obviously the cheaper of the 2 versions.

To cut it short - I did not enjoy the lunch much. Some of the fishes were dry and even fishy, the 'cells' have obviously degraded due to bad overnight storage. A piece of Red Maguro tuna was dried on the edges. The 2 pieces of Chu-Toro, even though really 'tasty and oily' and obviously sourced from better Blue-fin Tunas than other so-called Blue-fin Tunas in cheaper shops, was fishy as well with slight oxidation on the edge of 1 piece.

Another problem, as I've said in the Causeway Bay Main store review, is that the sushi's here are tiny. At lunch time, it's probably even slightly worst. A Kohada こはだ nigiri sushi for example, had only half of a fillet of a finger's width covering the rice only. This is the 1st time I've seen Kohada served this way, whether in Japan or Hong Kong!!! Unbelievable.

The Anago sea eel was around 2/3rd the size of a normal Anago nigiri. Some sushi's made by another local HK sushi chef had much bigger rice than the fish, even another table complained about it. The Wasabi at lunch time is also not the better variety offered at dinner time, whereas over at Kenjo 見城, they don't skimp on it even at lunch.

The ones in the photo shown are already the better 'batch' from our lunch course.
I have to honestly say - even though this shop has a great variety of seafood, it needs more attention to the smaller details for customers to judge it as worthy of the extra expenditure...
Most sushis are just served raw as it is, without garnishes, flavour enhancement herbs, etc. For sure, a true sushi eater will not need these as it'll mask the original flavour sometimes. But the piece of Saba did not even come with any spring onion/ginger to accompany it (in case its fishy, but at least make it optional!), let alone any pickled Konbu on top. A snapper or some white fish for example might benefit from some Plum/Shiso, but here, all seafoods are served plain.

FINE... I like them fresh and in its rawest state anyway.
But the Fish / Shellfish are so bloody small, I can't even taste the damn thing.

And some of them WERE not fresh and fishy.

Three of us went there for dinner. As soon as we sat down, two small plates of appetizers were served to each of us together with a small "starter" drink (apple-flavoured wine).

While we were busy catching up with each other, the waitress interrupted to see if we wanted to order anything. She immediately corrected me, in an extremely patronizing tone, that what I have described is called something else and that she "won't know the price of omakase until the chef starts 'cutting'" - WTF? When we demanded for at least a ball-park figure, she said around ~$1,200. We told her our preferences thinking the chef will handle the rest, but she kept pressing for what we want?!? Anyway, this whole Q&A session went on and on and she never gave us straight answers. In the end, we ordered 6 types of sashimi and 6 types of sushi (one of each for the 3 of us), thinking that will come to ~$1,200.

So we moved on to chat amongst ourselves and the same waitress invited herself to join our conversation...which was rude and inappropriate...this happened throughout the dinner whenever she came to pour tea for us...

Half-way through the dinner, she asked if we wanted to order more. She suggested we should try "the best fish EVER". So we ordered the fish along with some other dishes.

When we had tried the alleged "best fish EVER", all of us concluded that the fish had no taste and is nowhere near the best fish I have ever tasted!

Finally, we asked for the bill, which came to a whopping $4,000
. It turned out that we had been charged
- $150 for appetizers + drink - but we were never asked whether we wanted it or not....
- ~$1,100 for the 18 pieces of sashimi - which were indeed very tasty and fresh
- ~$1,300 for the 18 pieces of sushi
- which also were very good....but because of the waitress inability to explain clearly that the price she quoted was only for sashimi and we will be charged separately for the sushi, we ended up paying double of what we expected

- $700 for the alleged "best fish EVER" - this is a total rip-off!!

- remainder of the bill was for several much tastier and reasonably priced dishes

After having paid for the bill, we reflected our disappointment, such as how we felt cheated and riped off because she couldn't explain properly, to the waitress and she was still defending herself


For a similar price, we have all had much MUCH better service at other more well-known Japanese restaurants.....which begs the question: why would we ever, ever want to come back here?

加左一D熟食 ... 我地見佢menu選擇唔多 ... 叫個waitress埋來問 ... 問佢有冇tempura ... 佢話都有 ... 咁我地就叫一客5件天婦羅蝦 ... 同埋一客野菜天婦羅 ... but個waitress冇話比我地知呢2樣要幾多$ ... 味道就普通既天婦羅 ... 又唔係好難食 ... 又唔算係勁好食 ...

再叫一個唔知咩野牛肉卷 ... 仲埋黑豚 ... 但佢話黑豚只有紙鍋shabushabu ... 咁我地就改左要雞肉西京燒 ... 2樣都係好一般 ... 唔覺有咩野特別 ...

但係食晒都唔係好飽 ... 咁就再加埋個黑豚鍋 ... 個鍋好似要$150 ... 但得6片肉 >_<

waitress方面 ... 有1, 2個既service都幾好 ... 但有1個就麻麻 ... 好忙咁樣 ... 叫你等等完又唔返轉頭果D ...

食完晒 ... 仲有生果 或者 雪糕 食 ...

但係我地都只係7成飽左右 ... 因為D野食既份量唔多 ...

yet, with that restaurant, i'd set a higher level of expectation, everything should be done in the professional way, even it's so much cheaper for lunch - isn't it the image that they try to build up?

- some of the chefs were coughing, they didn't wear masks.

- 4 of my sushi were 軍艦, the 海苔 was not crispy, a bit soft. that's the quality i expect with those chain store, not sushi hiro.

- when i'd finished my sushi, the small dishes of appetizers and was having my soup, one of them came forward and collecting and cleaning my table... well, my hands were holding the bowl and chopsticks, couldn't she wait a moment more? i won't value this as efficient, it's just disturbing the customer.

price is okay, given the quality and quantities. agree to some of the below comments, service-wise, plenty of room for improvement.

今天與同事們,一行四人到此店吃午餐~我們點了2個壽司餐與一個北海井餐~心情很興奮喔~很小來到這些正宗日本餐廳吃日本菜~首先是前菜.....那些蘿蔔絲也蠻好吃....酸酸的!!之後主菜到了~每碟16件壽司(共2set)....很開心喔~但.....賣相與我想像有小許出入~我想像的是會大件一些與瑰麗一些....>.<"不過冇所謂喇~~因為是要試味道喔!!我第一件試"海膽"(第一次吃),感覺很好....可以一試!!之後三"文魚子".....好好吃喔!!!哈哈~~還有"甜蝦"也好吃~(我一直對甜蝦有抗拒,因為有一次吃過"聲"的甜蝦),但今次好好吃呀!總體而言,這餐是一個有價值回憶的一餐~雖然對我來說,吃一個午餐是貴了一點~但.....一生人可以試一下~是不錯的經驗!還有,難得有朋友與我一起試喔!!!

還有"甜蝦"也好吃~(我一直對甜蝦有抗拒,因為有一次吃過"聲"的甜蝦),但今次好好吃呀!

總體而言,這餐是一個有價值回憶的一餐~
雖然對我來說,吃一個午餐是貴了一點~
但.....一生人可以試一下~是不錯的經驗!
還有,難得有朋友與我一起試喔!!!

I reserved a table at 12:30noon last Saturday and the waiter told me the table will be hold for 15mins. On that day, we were in the TST MTR station at around 12:40noon and received a call from the restaurant telling us that, "the time is almost over, there are so many people lining up here..." I replied her that we were almost there and will be there in a few minutes... she said, "you'd better be hurry, or else, we have to release the table out." We ordered 2 sets: 1 is $290, 1 is $140.

The waitress hurrily placed some food on the table without telling us which set those food is for. And for the $140 set, I picked the sushi, rice + udon. The udon and rice were arrived so quick. For Japanese Food, don't it to have cold dishes before hot dishes???? I really wonder?!

The sets include a drink and some fruits (as dessert). I ordered hot coffee, but it's definitely NOT hot, but warm. When I asked the waitress to refill some hot green tea for me, I had been waiting for over 15 mins but she hadn't come back until I "re-ordered" it .

The sushi is fresh though, the service is so poor!

早一星期打電話訂檯,被安排bar檯最邊的位置,前面有香港籍師傅坐鎮,全程未和他交談過,反而他與同僚則閒時在廚房內哈哈大笑,談笑風生。 服務應真麻麻,安坐後久久未逢上茶及餐牌,要叫才珊珊逢上,扣分! 最後點了兩客16件自選壽司($290),先上前菜,有蒸蛋,螺及東瓜漬。蒸蛋熱及滑,內有雞肉,冬菇等材料,很豐富。螺及東瓜漬一般,不太出色。 至於壽司,當中大路的中toro、海膽、鯖魚,甜蝦及帶子等都相當鮮味,件件晶瑩剔透,好鮮的樣子,就好像置身日本壽司店一樣的質素。中toro更是入口即溶,好有大阪魚心壽司的感覺。推介。另外,帶子、甜蝦及海膽都是必叫的。 其實的壽司,真的不是日本人,變得孤陋寡聞,單看清單,不知是何方神聖,只知是壽司魚,於是亂點一通,總之總共16件便交紙了。 最後上生果兩件及檸檬茶兩杯,為壽司午膳劃上完美的句號。 不是走大眾化的路線,服務亦麻麻,對於平民的我,大時大節到此慶祝是絕對值得的,但平時又未必會專誠捧場。

不是走大眾化的路線,服務亦麻麻,對於平民的我,大時大節到此慶祝是絕對值得的,但平時又未必會專誠捧場。
