鵝肝春卷: 7.5分, 至於另外一個前菜, 春卷吃得多, 鵝肝春卷, 坦白講, 是有點奇怪的組合. 當然, 以這裡的市場及目標觀眾來說, 又是合情合理的. 春卷熱辣辣, 也幾香脆, 但那個鵝肝餡, 香濃是香濃的, 但始終不太合宜.

咕嚕魚飯: 7.5分, 另外一道主菜是咕嚕魚飯, 挺開胃的, 只是魚塊不算太香脆. 而那碗白飯, 就成為我的救星, 主要食量了.

蒸鮮蝦菠菜餃: 7.5分, 飯後的不是甜品, 而是餃子. 蒸鮮蝦菠菜餃, 餃皮偏厚身, 餡料方面, 鮮蝦跟菠菜的平衡做得幾好.

或許Monogamous的主打客人不是本地人吧, 這裡的整體感覺很外國, 就像走進唐人街吃中菜那樣子. 午餐的價位, 是經濟的, 但食物水準, 就只是一般而已.

I'm a huge fan of their set lunch menu. It's 3 courses for $88 and it comes with hot tea.You know me, once I find something I like, I stick with it so my typical order is the deep fried eggplant for starters, Beijing style minced pork noodles for my main, and some chive dumplings. If you can handle spice, try the Sichuan noodles in spicy peanut soup.I also love their ambiance- the walls are decorated with various art pieces (paintings, tapestries, framed drawings) and most of it is for sale.If y

I'm a huge fan of their set lunch menu. It's 3 courses for $88 and it comes with hot tea.

You know me, once I find something I like, I stick with it so my typical order is the deep fried eggplant for starters, Beijing style minced pork noodles for my main, and some chive dumplings. If you can handle spice, try the Sichuan noodles in spicy peanut soup.

I also love their ambiance- the walls are decorated with various art pieces (paintings, tapestries, framed drawings) and most of it is for sale.

If you're looking for a cosy place for dinner, this is also a great choice; their dinner menu is a lot more extensive and the dim lighting with soft jazz music makes for a great date environment!

每天返工放工都會經過這間川菜店,呢個店係半山行人電梯嘅橋底,俾人種約隱約現嘅感覺,是日星期六,我終於去了試到試!原來間餐廳俾我想像中嘅細! 店內一覽無遺,約11-12張台,但看店主在裝飾落了不少功夫,上至粒飾下至地墊都緊貼中國風。中午有三道菜嘅午市套餐。只係88 蚊! 三道菜的選擇分別係前菜(凉菜,小吃) , 主菜 (面居多, 擔擔麵,炸醬面,炒面) 和side (點心類,水餃, 小籠包, 紅油抄手). 點了椒鹽茄子, 炸醬面和小籠包。 送了一客菜, 鐵觀音。食物約20 分鐘左右黎到。 椒鹽茄子好脆口,外脆內軟好鬼正! 加上炸蒜蓉爽到暈! 望食就比較失色。 炸醬面只有芽菜同青瓜絲, 炸醬味有點兒稀,味較淡口; 但面身係ok 嘅。最後黎嘅小籠包有兩隻, 小籠包就不過不失,不過其中一隻未吃已經漏晒d 湯汁出黎(泣)

記憶中小巷內的店子,生意十分難做,幾年間已轉了幾次手,直至來到今年情況才有所改變。老外必定喜歡的裝潢外,餐牌內更不乏大量素食迎合著重健康的半山外國客人,其中的烏筍和蓮藕清爽可口,調味也令人滿意。至於這裡的招牌烤鴨,老實說雖然必比登有說過這款推介,但味道卻不及黑醋一字骨來得可口,試過便知真相。

I am a westerner and have been living and eating in restaurants in HK for 20 years. This was really disappointing as our friends suggested it saying it was better than the China Club. I really beg to differ, finding the sauces on the fish dish we ordered over powering and very greasy. Same with another dish I could not identify, I think it was the same sauce. Even the duck, which we specially ordered, though the best dish we had, was a bit dry and the pancakes mediocre. The cucumbers were cut ve

There was very little attention to detail and I felt that the food was catered to foreign palates. Disappointing and I really have no desire to return. There a so many amazing chinese restaurants to try in this city, please do a bit of research and don't just come here because it is in SoHo/Mid-Levels! Nice decor however, liked the atmosphere, but staff were not very friendly, they all looked harrassed.

The set lunch is $88 and you have a choice of one of four appetizers, one of four mains, and one of four homemade dumplings. Between my wife and I, we had half the lunch menu. Here's a rundown:

Appetizers:

Sliced lotus root in a Sichuan spicy sauce: This was the best thing we had. Very thinly sliced, crisp lotus root with a powerful ginger and Sichuan peppercorn sauce that had a noticeable spice. A

Deep fried goose liver spring rolls: Not nearly as indulgent as it sounds, just kind of plain in terms of flavor, crispiness, etc. Very small portion size. B

Main Dishes:

Beijing style noodles with spicy minced pork: OK, so the 'spicy' is part of the restaurant's description, not mine. The pork was not at all spicy. The noodles were very bland. I think they'd have been great with a spicy sauce or paste, but no such luck. C+

Stir fried crispy fish fillets in a sweet and sour sauce: I was worried there would be bones in the fish, but there weren't. The fish was great, the sauce was maybe a little too sweet, and the vegetables were somewhat underdone. The portion size was small, and it was good that we were sharing the noodles as more of a filler. B-

Dumplings

Bamboo steamed shrimp and spinach dumplings:We didn't order this. The server actually wrote down our order, and read it back to me, so I have no idea how they still managed to mess it up. I thought this was a decidedly bad rendition of shrimp and spinach dumplings too. C-

Pork wontons in Sichuan spicy sauce: The sauce looked like it should be spicy, but it wasn't. Bland and barely-noticeable. B-

There was nothing bad about any of the food, there just wasn't much good about it (lotus root excepted). It was mostly bland, not in the least bit spicy even when advertised as such (lotus root excepted), and came in small portion sizes that were a little too insubstantial for lunch. I don't think I'd go back for lunch, and I'd probably only try dinner if I heard on good authority that the food had flavor and spice.

Overall: C+/ B-

蒸鮮蝦豆苗餃,餃皮厚度可以接受,吃起來卻略為實淨;內餡是蝦膠碎屑,味道不甚新鮮,還好豆苗份量多。與餃子同 serve 的還有下了生蒜的鎮江醋,蘸之固然變得重口味。

Really disappointed especially in terms of value for money. The food was just ok, not great. However not only were the published prices wrong but the portion sizes are completely unjustified for the price and it simply means I won't be back. No monogamy with monogamous for me!!

The restaurant is located under the escalator so it doesn't have much street appearance and I believe it is already the 3rd restaurant that opens in this location after the failure of the other two.InteriorThe restuarnat has a very high ceiling with a few big red lanterns hanging down. Also, along the wall there are quite a few contemporary art pieces. The restuarnat has a very high ceiling with a few big red lanterns hanging down. Also, along the wall there are quite a few contemporary art pieces. It sets up a contemporary dining experience which obviously caters for the westerners' market.

A very refershing and crunchy combination which is good for the appetide. But the signature sauce was dissappointing as it was only soya sauce with a tiny bit of wasabi

Deep fried tofu with crispy garlic and spicy salt

A very common chinese dish. It is indeed very crispy on the outside while soft inside. The garlic and spicy salt is also a good complement to the tofu.

Main course:
Sizzling sliced mutton with scallion
The mutton was thinly sliced and it was tender. A lot of the time the meat would have been overcooked but this restaurant was really good at controlling the texture of the meat.

Crispy pork spare ribs with home-made black vinegar sauce

This was the best dish in the entire meal. The black vinegar sauce was based on Shanghainese vinegar sauce and added cherry tomato in it. The sauce was well balanced with the scent of Chinese vinegar + a bit of fruit citrus. Compared to traditional sauce, this one seemed to be a little bit watery but stilll taste good. The spare ribs were deep fried before mixing with the sauce so it was still crispy when it was served.

Dessert:
Ice-cream souffle ball

This one was the highlight of the meal! the vanilla ice-cream inside was as smooth as cream while the outside was freshly deep-fried so it was soft and bouncy! This dish was even better than a lot of the traditional famous Shanghainese restaurants.
