Meeting somebody that I love but who I have not seen for ages a quiet and not crowded café is the key place to have. Going up the escalator, the café’s name ROCOCO was beautifully displayed with glowing light. Painted in baby blue, the walls looked princess-like. I immediately took a snap shot with my phone. Next to it was an open kitchen, a few chefs were concentrating and baking in that area to produce the best dish to the customers.
As it was Friday, a weekday, there were only 4 people dining in that café and of course we were seated and got to choose where to sit. The café was definitely a Princess blue wonderland. Every walls were in blue colour, every chairs and tables were all white and looked luxurious. A small glass of flowers were placed on the table. I just love the design and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
After a few seconds, a glass of warm water was served to each of us. “The water is warm!! Awwww… they are so SWEET!!” I whispered. Meanwhile, we were give a set of rainbow- coloured menus: Drinks, Main course, Roll cake and Pancake. As it was a Japanese café, there were Japanese, Chinese as well as English words. Although there were not many choices, I was attracted by Berry Berry Pancake in the top left hand corner, therefore my friend and I decided to order that to share and also order 2 hot lemon tea.
While we were waiting, we found the cutlery and the plate really special and unique. The knife was small with a wired but interesting shape; we wondered whether … it was shape enough to cut through meat like beefsteak. The green plate was pretty with some nice pattern around the side. Looked neat and “high-classed”.
Lemon tea arrived with a small packet of Palmier. The light blue princess type cup itself matched with the plate on the table. It was quite unusual to serve a cup of lemon tea with Palmier…maybe because they wanted to promote their bakery products. Anyways… the Palmier was golden brown in colour, it was crispy and not too sweet, I hope it could be more buttery, but for a free treat with the lemon tea, it was not bad.
Berry Berry Pancake($118) The pancake itself was Fluffy and not firm at all. Really surprised with the sourness of all the berries: strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrant and raspberries, they all helped to build an incredible texture with contrast of the rough tiny seeds from the berries and the smooth, soft pancake.
Exciting and Fruity. Another stunning point of this dessert was the creamy in the middle of that dreamy red berries sauce… the CREAM!! It was as light as air, not heavy at all. A mouthful of pancake, cream, berries and sour sauce… SO GOOD !!
My friend and I found this dining experience enjoyable. Will I go again? DEFINITELY!! Quiet and comfortable environment, warm and caring service, pretty presentation and delicious food… a new café for tea and a nice long girly gossip chat.张贴
