 As expected it was delicious and better than my expectations because the chicken was still soft and tender after it was reheated even though it was white meat and the chutney was gorgeous because it was sligthly sweet with a tart mango taste.
After mixing the rice, masala sauce and chutney everything just tasted bliss.
The naan is slightly different to the ones you get in Indian restaurants because it was thick and soft.

    請左半日sick leave去剝智慧齒，聽人講剝完之後成個星期都食唔到野，作為一個為食既人緊係要去食個最後的午餐。可能m&s cafe新開，就算lunch time去食都冇乜人。款式少，估唔到連份量都少，可能因為咁冇人食lunch掛…但如果只係飲野的話個咖啡又唔夠香濃…不過都見到啲日本太太坐喺度吹水，好明顯係醉翁之意不在酒。我叫左個千層麵，個份量少到呢，得半個兜，個兜已經唔係大，仲要得半個…味道ok啦，但索價近80蚊，係咪值得就見仁見智…其實見到其他食客叫chips & fish好似幾nice，但唔係太有興趣再試，因為真係唔值。

      Boyfriend and I came here for dinner on Saturday night. With all the other restaurants in Cityplaza with huge lines, this place was surprisingly quiet.Located inside the newly renovated Marks & Spencer is a cafe. You order and pay at the cashier.        There are signs throughout the cafe telling you that every thing you are eating here can be found at their grocery section, ready to be bought and eaten at home. Making it feel like a pricier version of Ikea restaurant.

       I found a cute little crayon area for children to take and draw with. So, the little ones aren't bored while their mothers sit and tea away. And there is free wifi for those that need a place to get online for free.

       We ordered a lasagne, quiche and fish and chips. I originally wanted to drink an ice mango drink as the photo looked like a slurpee but the staff told me their ice machine was broken so all ice drinks were not available. Oh boo! I wasn't about to have hot coffee or tea as we just came in from walking outside at 30+C so I had to settle for a bottled raspberry robios tea as it's a favorite of mine whenever I go to M&S.

       Food took a while to be served to us and it wasn't busy. It appeared to only be one staff serving. Who knows how many in the kitchen. I suspect understaffed.

      Lasagne was supposed to be served with a salad. Photos from past Openrice reviews had  actual salad greens. What we got was sliced tomatoes.  Did they run out of salad greens? At 7:30 pm on Saturday? Why didn't they tell us? They gave us a small pitcher of salad dressing for the sliced tomatoes. Salad dressing was very tart from the vinegar. I didn't add it to the tomatoes as the tomatoes were fresh enough, no dressing was needed. Lasagne was good. The pasta was nice and soft. The meat sauce was rich and tasty. There was a layer of bechamel sauce as well.

       Fish and chips were interesting. Fish was a decent portion. Batter was not too thick and crunchy. Fish was moist. Good bargain! Too bad the fries were disgustingly soggy. It felt like frozen fries just tossed in the oven and not really reheated properly so it gets soggy. Mayonnaise was used instead of tartar sauce. Ketchup was ok but M&S ketchup isn't as good as Heinz.

       Quiche was also to have a salad. Again we got sliced tomatoes instead of the salad greens in previous Openrice review photos. Quiche was horrible. Really tasted like the frozen quiche's I buy sometimes at the grocery store that I stick in my freezer for those days I am too lazy to cook and toss something in the microwave. Crust was soggy and fell apart. Quiche itself wasn't set properly and was just mushy. A total disappointment.

       The place is comfortable. Prices are reasonable. Too bad so many things were not available (like ice and salad greens). I will return for the tea or coffee (or maybe the ice drinks again!). Maybe try a cake next time.

        Eating alone could be a pleasant experience, especially when one is feeling tired or simply want to escape from the crowds. This was exactly how I felt yesterday after work. M&S cafe seems to be the perfect place for me, not only because of its location, but also because of the food and ambience (plus free WiFi). After placing my orders, I got myself a comfortable couch seat and got connected to the wi-fi while waiting for the food.          Smoked Salmon Bagel with Cream Cheese - The bagel was served warm, it has a chewy texture inside. There were 2 pieces of smoked salmon and a thin layer of cream cheese in the middle. It tastes delicious but I prefer more cream cheese.


        Cappuccino - made with their signature Fairtrade coffee beans which is also selling in their food hall next door. Potent in flavour. The small size turns out to be bigger than I expected (as you can see in the picture, it's even bigger than the bagel).

        I was dying to come to M&S cafe once I've heard it's opening, Ive long been a loyal customer for their food since school in England. So tonight I dragged my bf to come for dinner, but since there weren't any openrice reviews yet and no info of food choices on official site, WE WENT IN BLIND! The cafe is inside of M&S, right next to the food hall.I have this instant feeling of its setting and MUJI Cafe is alike.          M&S certainly gains point in thoughtfulness, there's coat hangers, baby seats and children drawing paper and crayons. Also free wifi and uses fair trade coffee and tea.

        We went at 7.30 pm, there were plenty of seats available, considering a Saturday evening, here certainly has not gathered the crowd (yet)
        we picked up the menu on the counter, where salt and pepper, sugars, tableware and paper towels are also are.

         As seen, there ain't much choices, and most of them (and its ingredient) can be bought in the food hall. Fish n chips uses frozen M&S goods. Curry chicken is microwaved, which is sold $80 in food hall and $98 in cafe.🙈

        Lasagne is standard, layered with pasta sheet, meat sauce, cheese sauce
        It is pretty standard, but I like it more with tomato flavour the sourness, and with more more cheese there isn't the supposed saltyness. 😤😤😤

        Classic choice, picked it bcos wish to relive old school days. Sponge cakes stacked with strawberry jam and sweetened clotted cream, I guess it's what they use with scones as well.
        the cake is heavy, not spongy, which is exactly like how school dining ladies made it(haha)😂
        But I like how it is, traditional, sweet and fulfilling. just missing some thick vanilla custard👍

        So in total, we ate $183 for two.
        I'd say this meal and others on the menu is reasonably charged, except the "food hall favourite" items, a bit pricy.
        I wonder what is included in the "afternoon tea set$178", waiting for others review!!!
        would probably come back for some cake and a pot of tea $20 (free refill) and to chit chat, but as for food? I'd opt to buy from food hall and make at home.

           紅蘿蔔裝飾是軟糖來的，細味下居然真有紅蘿蔔味呢！
          濃郁稠密的甜奶霜，厚厚的舖在蛋糕上，蛋糕本身夠濕潤，而且有很多果仁碎，但不是很吃得出蘿蔔味，和奶霜一起吃的話，顯得奶霜超級甜！甜到牙關發軟，自問都食得甜，可是最後我也沒有食完那層奶霜呢！太。甜。了。

           所以配小杯single macchiato，咖啡的苦澀中和了蛋糕的甜，一杯剛剛好。
          咖啡是公平貿易貨品，值得支持。

          *另外見到餐牌上有tea set for two($178),現場也有其他食客叫了，但見三層中scones也只給一個，感覺不太扺~
          *如果叫tea pot，是可以refill的，而且是經理親自替你拎去加水的, Of Couse自己去refill更好, 無謂做死經理或店員la！

          服務

          服務新店開張，服務都殷勤，店方願意提供暖水，店員不會對這些要求感不耐，經理亦會主動問食客對食物是否滿意，推介食客到food hall購買。

          由於太古城中有不少cafe，但都有人滿為患的缺失，現在M&S Cafe，價錢較另一新加盟太古城的Log-on Cafe吸引而大眾化，坐得舒服，而且沒那麼嘈雜，絕對是我在太古城中的cafe首選，希望這裡不會那麼快淪陷吧！

          最近網上都有人講M&S喺香港第一間Coffee Shop, 全日都提供All day breakfast同tea set... Even 夜晚入座都有早餐食... 見幾得意就同朋友去一試M&S!!可以因為係閒日，所以都無乜人...唔洗排隊就可以入去, 比預期中好當中都有唔少吉椅, 所以都幾易搵位!!坐低之後就可以睇Menu. 一貫風格，輕鬆簡單，幾英式~~首先叫左個Fish and Chips... 薯條都係焗同烤為主，所以都唔太熱氣，反而幾好食... 等左15分鐘左右，焗薯終於到!! 個薯仔幾好食，值得推介... 另外配上沙律，其實都唔錯. 只係個sauce有d奇怪... 千層麵比起其他就有d遜色, 而且份量都比較細另外叫埋野飲, 計番一個人100蚊左右, 都唔算太貴, 而且環境乾淨 (有wifi)... 相信會係傾公事好地方!!

          識食, 一定要食M&S Café!今日lunch time, 同成班同事去試食, 試業免費丫嘛, 又係馬莎wor, 實唔會中伏啦, 是咪呀?拎左幾件蛋糕, 叫左幾set Fish & Chips, 千層麵同印度咖喱飯, 飲品就同支裝果汁, 熱朱古力同moch大家咁肚餓, 消滅左d蛋糕先! 味道唔錯wor, 有水準. 有人話件檸檬蛋糕好似嘉頓既雪芳蛋糕, 另一個同事就回應, 咁既價錢應該可以買幾打雪芳蛋糕等無耐就黎左set Fish & Chips. 咦都好快手wor? 哦, 原來係上個order 整多左既…..真係環保呀, 好似馬莎個綠色招牌! 響應綠色生活, 即刻試下先啦, 咦, 有d林林地呀d魚同薯條, 佢地梗係怕我地無牙咬啦…真係細心之後等等等…等左接近25分鐘, 其他食物終於黎啦…..去片! A同事即刻吉啖千層麵黎試下啦… 一擺入口, 咦? 佢掩哂口咁痛苦既? 好似辣親咁wor? 但原來…佢話d免治牛肉係凍架!!!! 莫非係英式新食法? 侍應知道後, 拎番入去翻熱…跟手再黎個印度咖喱雞飯….R同事似乎未受凍面事件影響…平時冇得食, 即刻整舊咖喱雞先. 咦? 一咬, 又係凍既?

          拎左幾件蛋糕, 叫左幾set Fish & Chips, 千層麵同印度咖喱飯, 飲品就同支裝果汁, 熱朱古力同moch

          大家咁肚餓, 消滅左d蛋糕先! 味道唔錯wor, 有水準. 有人話件檸檬蛋糕好似嘉頓既雪芳蛋糕, 另一個同事就回應, 咁既價錢應該可以買幾打雪芳蛋糕

          之後等等等…等左接近25分鐘, 其他食物終於黎啦…..去片! A同事即刻吉啖千層麵黎試下啦… 一擺入口, 咦? 佢掩哂口咁痛苦既? 好似辣親咁wor? 但原來…佢話d免治牛肉係凍架!!!! 莫非係英式新食法? 侍應知道後, 拎番入去翻熱…

          跟手再黎個印度咖喱雞飯….R同事似乎未受凍面事件影響…平時冇得食, 即刻整舊咖喱雞先. 咦? 一咬, 又係凍既? 莫非印度咖喱雞都係要凍食? 不過今次我地係好認真咁問侍應呢道菜係咪要凍食, 答覆係….個翻熱系統有問題wor…所以, 呢兩碟飯又要翻叮啦!

          其實叮完, 都冇乜時間慢慢食啦, 加上咁既質素, 大家都覺得呢餐好彩唔洗俾錢. 不過雖然唔洗錢, 但都未至於中伏到咁樣樣…最後大家含恨而去

          擁有超過一百年歷史嘅英國百貨店馬莎，近年轉攻食品市場，不過佢地仍然未夠喉，喺太古開設全香港首開café！ Café走簡約路線，設有64個座位，供應超過60種即席製作嘅美食及飲品，由早餐到午餐，甚至英式下午茶到晚餐都一應俱全，全部都係自家品牌嘅食物，任均選擇！ 而我首先就點咗個火腿芝士酸果醬法包，採用法式短包，配上淡味車打芝士同英國蜜味火腿，芝士屬於半溶狀態，入口柔軟，加上開胃嘅酸果醬、酸菜、酸瓜，別有一番風味。 因為英國曾經統治過印度嘅關係，所以唔少印度美食傳入英國，就好似呢個印度式紅咖喱雞肉配飯、烤餅及香芒甜酸醬。佢地選用印度式香米，黏度比泰國香米低，米粒較細長，帶半透明，食落爽口啲。雞肉微辣嫩滑，烤餅厚身帶口感，陣陣蒜香味，配上香芒甜酸醬，絕對一流！ 食完主菜，當然就到甜品！維多利亞式海綿蛋糕係一款經典嘅英式蛋糕，以香濃、扎實嘅海綿蛋糕為主體，用紅莓醬同淡忌廉做夾心，再灑上糖粉於蛋糕表面。有傳呢個蛋糕係維多利亞女王嘅至愛，下午茶必備嘅甜點，蛋糕亦因此得名同流傳開去。蛋糕鬆軟結實，足夠飽肚，夾心餡豐富，有雪糕口感！讚！
