Elephant Grounds does a fantastic avocado on toast. There’s a ton of avocado 🥑 piled on the toast with a perfectly cooked poached egg 🥚 on top. On the side there’s a generous serving of salad 🥗. However unlike other cafes offering avocado on toast, Elephant Grounds only serves one piece, compared to two generally. At $105, this means you’re paying an awful lot for not that much food.The cafe’s Caine Road branch is also a nice environment to get a bit of work done. It is quiet and is pretty airy

半山有很多特色Cafe，是悠閒假期的好去處。這天經過 Elephant Grounds，給它的木紋店面設計所吸引，於是放慢了腳步👣⋯Cafe 環境舒服，可以自由選擇室內和室外座位。室內雖然不大，但樓底很高，不會壓迫，還有個小閣層，有梳發、書籍可供免費閱讀。簡單點了三明治和咖啡，一邊品嚐，一邊放鬆工作忙碌心情。所有三明治的麵包都是每天新鮮自家製的，而且有不同款式！慢煮36小時的牛肋扒，口感鬆軟，醃辣椒、火箭菜，感覺清新；麵包略為乾，口感像Panini；配上芥末蛋黃醬，為整個三明治增添了濕潤感。這款麵包鬆軟，裡面夾著車打芝士，外面包著水牛芝士，煎至兩面金黃，每一口都充滿了陣陣芝士香；香醋沙律菜和蕃茄濃湯，剛好中和了芝士的油膩感！淡淡的鹽味焦糖，鹹甜味道剛剛好，不會蓋過咖啡的甘香，這可算是我喝過味道最好的Salted Caramel Coffee！內裡是厚厚的士多啤梨雪糕夾層，外面是牛油曲奇，還裹著一層乾覆盆子碎。曲奇很鬆化，但牛油味一般；雪糕也只吃到很淡的士多啤梨味道，幸好有乾覆盆子碎的酸甜，否則整個味道略太淡了！總結：餐點算是普通，但環境清靜舒適，咖啡不錯，是放鬆心情、享受假期的好地方！

因為太忙，而又太肚餓，相信在午市繁忙時間用外賣app落單要等很長時間，就索性自己去買外賣回公司食。其實很多時都會來這店嘆咖啡，但點食物還是第一次。雖然只是外賣沙律，但賣相也精美。最驚喜的是：驟眼看餐牌寫tuna salad，以為是罐頭吞拿魚，估不到原來是很有水準的新鮮吞拿魚！煎了四邊微熟的吞拿魚，加上半熟漏黃的雞蛋，配了peppercorn 及沙律菜，絕對是一分錢 一分貨（$108），是一個好味而又健康的午餐。

原本想去Elephant Grounds 食菠蘿包夾密瓜雪糕嘅，點知佢轉左menu，變左earl grey ice cream sandwich 。咁就試吓啦，點知發現都幾吸引。個macaroon有手掌咁大個，外脆內軟。伯爵茶雪糕嘅茶味都幾濃郁，最令我surprise 係佢面頭嗰d朱古力爆炸糖好好味，同嗰sandwich 幾襯，不過d乾橙塊有d澀同黏牙。鐘意食macaroon嘅人應該會幾鐘意呢個甜品，如果唔係可能會覺得偏甜🙈

This place is obviously super pet friendly as you can see pets everywhere on the Ground Floor. It was super hot on a day in August and so we opted for a table upstairs (which has slightly better air conditioning...) Elephant Grounds Cafe 有幾間分店的，今日和朋友在中環所以便去了半山堅道的分店一心想食pancake 但只有weekend先有，所以隨便點了咖啡和三文治吃。Cafe坐位有室外同空內位置可以選擇，雖然地方細細但樓底很高，感覺舒服。Grilled Cheese，Grilled Cheese三文治麵包外層烘到金黃色加上半溶的mozzarella芝士以及車打芝士，真係好滋味。 而且還配上番茄湯好香濃的番茄味道以及新鮮mesclun沙律，不錯的一份午餐。Short Rib Ciabatta，36小時慢熟牛肉，口感好淋好嫩滑肉質，加有新鮮沙律菜伴埋一齊食好好味。Swiss Mocha，咖啡好香濃好滑。

沿住中環扶手電梯一路上到堅道, 右手邊行兩步就係 elephant grounds 喇。 佢個裝修都幾靚, 好啱幾個坐埋一齊傾吓計, 不過佢啲櫈有漬, 有少少扣分..佢啲嘢飲同嘢食都係賣特別, 你叫時完全想像唔到係咩味Wasabi scotched egg $105 - 係英國傳統嘅 scotched egg, 再加上綠色一粒粒好似平時食個啲蟹籽咁, 但係就 wasabi 味😱, 個 scotched egg 就冇咩驚喜, 但加咗啲粒粒感覺嘅特別嘅...不過呢個價錢食粒蛋就唔太值...Earl grey ice-cream sandwich $68 - 兩塊cookies夾住個earl grey ice-cream 好邪惡😈 佢個 ice-cream sandwich 會轉下第二啲味架, 可能下次上去就食唔番呢隻Salmon avocado poke $110 - 新鮮芋頭脆片配上牛油果撈煙三文魚, 佢炸得都幾脆!Popcorn latte - 係seasonal specials嘅menu上，有一粒粒嘅popcorn係入面之餘，真係飲到popcorn🍿味架Ginger latte

The seating is so cramped. I'm literally sitting inches beside a stranger. If I move over a little bit I will be sitting in a crack. The wifi connection is unbelievably bad for a coffee shop. I couldn't connect to email or basic websites on my computer. When I asked the staff about the wifi connection, they said to me the connection is unstable on computers and you should use your phone. 夏日的香港是很逼人的，30幾度的高溫也罷，主要是讓人難以喘息的濕氣，離開冷氣房沒幾步路變身人肉黏蟲板，衣服也因汗水而緊貼在身上，還有突如而來的午後大雨，此時街邊巷弄的咖啡店就是最好的避風港，遠離凝聚空氣中停滯不前的熱氣，坐在店內，靜待身上圍繞著一圈咖啡香，利用這迷人的保護膜才有力氣往下一個景點邁進。方方格格的高樓林立，對這夏季的濕悶不為所動，拐個彎偶遇老舊社區，反倒能舒緩黏搭搭的身軀，似乎快下雨了，身體彷彿也吸了不少水氣，步伐逐漸變得沉重，轉到大馬路上盡是千篇一律的商店，眼神開始渙散，正在用意志力跟著手機的導航走著，即便是在體力耗盡的邊緣，很難不去注意到忽然間出現在眼前的木系店面 -仔細一看，Elephant Grounds，抵達目的地，感謝老天，快，快讓我找個位置坐下。開放式的座位就免了吧，這時候的我一心只想和熱氣隔離，讓疲憊的身軀稍稍獲得喘息的空間。比較特別的是外頭還設有階梯式的座位，不管是短暫停留或是外帶飲品都有個可以歇腳的地方 -上次到香港大概是十來年之前的事了吧，當時還懵懵懂懂，沒太大的印象，久違的再訪有幾個深深的體會，其中之一就是香港年青人英文都好好，發音更是一流，此行共去
