I was at the Peak with my wife on Sunday night at around 9:30pm. Without being picky, we wanted to try out this local restuarant. Unfortunately, it turned out to be by far the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. We went into the restuarant at 9:30pm and were told by the restuarant's supervisor that it was about to close. The supervisor wasn't particularly polite (but to be fair not too mean either), and we understood that it was late so we just left the restuarant. Just when we walked
We went into the restuarant at 9:30pm and were told by the restuarant's supervisor that it was about to close. The supervisor wasn't particularly polite (but to be fair not too mean either), and we understood that it was late so we just left the restuarant. Just when we walked out of the restaurant, a Chinese tourist family walked into the restuarant and were looking for a table. What happened next was absolutely shocking! A young staff aged early twenties yelled at the tourists loudly in front of everyone at least 6 or 7 times in mandarin. He repeatedly yelled "Closed, closed, closed...." in mandarin. The Chinese tourist and everyone there including us were shocked to see the young staff's attitude. The Chinese tourist and his family then quietly left.
I just think that it doesn't take much to politely decline your customers. Perhaps the young staff might have had a tough or tiring day, but that is not an excuse to treat your customers in such a manner. I grew up in HK and was disappinted that this happened in a supposingly tourist friendly area.. I hope the restuarant owener would see this review and improve the customer service. As I didn't try the food, I gave "3" for all ratings except for customer service.
