I do not recommend to go Hodori if you want some good Korean food. Also, the service was very bad. After waiting for 20 minutes they have told me that there were something wrong with the order and I had to wait more. They gave me my food after 40 minutes in total and it was very obvious that they made it in hurry because the soup was salty and there were very less meat even though the price is pretty costly. Also while I was eating I heard a man shouting in the kitchen towards the part times for over 10 minutes. As a customer it was very uncomfortable to hear. I honestly think that they should improve their quality of food and service. …查看更多

Relocating from Korea a couple months ago, a time I thought that would never come has finally caught up to me. I needed Korean food.Away from the hustle and bustle of the city in Soho East is a relatively small Korean restaurant called Hodori. Given the diverse choices of Korean cuisine in Hong Kong nowadays, choosing Hodori was a no-brainer for me as it is the closest Korean restaurant to my house. Therefore, I entered the restaurant without any expectations and boy did I come out satisfied.First came the "ban chan", the infamous Korean side dishes a.k.a. "freebies", the trademark of Korean restaurants. It consisted of seasoned spinach, fried zucchini in egg batter, fried tofu, eggplant in what I think was a soy-based sauce and of course, kimchi. All of them were great but what especially won me over were the eggplants and the kimchi. The eggplants had a silky texture without being overly soft and the sauce was oh-so-succulent. The kimchi was crisp, had a wonderful balance between sweet and saltiness and the level of fermentation was perfect to my taste. As the saying goes, judge the restaurant by the quality of kimchi they serve. I wish Hodori would sell their side dishes so I can store some at home. While busy eating the "ban chan", out came the kimchi pancake. The pancake was cooked to perfection. The crispy outer layer, the soft inside, the crunchy spring onion and the chewy squid. There were so many different textures in every bite. The secret to Korean pancakes are in the batter and Hodori has managed to pull this off 10/10!Next came the black bean noodles, "Jja Jjang Myun". Jja Jjang Myun is actually a Chinese inspired dish which was introduced to Korea through Chinese immigrants. Somewhat ironic ordering Chinese inspired Korean food in a Korean restaurant in Hong Kong but it was not a time to contemplate about multicultural cuisines. I devoured it in what seemed to be 4 or 5 mouthfuls covering my mouth with black sauce everywhere like a 2 year old kid.The highlight of the night "Budae Jjigae" a.k.a. "army base stew" was next in line. This dish is pure indulgence and by indulgence I mean straight gluttony. The spam, the sausage, the cheese and the many refills of ramen... I consider myself a pretty healthy person but sometimes I just need to let loose. When I get that craving, Budae Jjigae is what hits the spot. The best part? Hodori is a hidden gem right at my doorstep. Soho East maybe a little far for you fellows out there but if you're in the area, Hodori is a must try!…查看更多

I live near the restaurant and decided to drop by Hodori Restaurant with a few of my friends and the result was great! We ordered a few dishes...one soup, one pancake and one Korean noodle (it was black in color) and everything was delicious. The waiter suggested we drink Korean rice wine with the pancake because the pancake goes well with it and we did. The Korean rice wine was great and we also learned that it is a very healthy alcoholic drink because it is made from fermented rice. We also drank Korean soju called 'soon-hari' and Korean berry wine. The soon-hari had a bit of orange taste to it similar to an orange flavored cocktail you would drink at any western bar and the Korean berry wine had a sweet wine taste to it but a bit more depth compared to a regular wine. All three drinks were perfect drinks for me and my friends to enjoy because we all cannot take strong alcohol. The service was great and I liked how it felt very homey, made me feel nostalgic because it reminded me of the place my parents and I used to eat out very often. Thanks to Hodori Korean Restaurant I found a place near home to eat out when I feel lazy to cook! (Which is like everyday!! Ha ha ha) I will visit Hodori again soon hope they remember me next time I go there. I want to try their seafood pancake, stone pot rice with beef and ginseng chicken stew next time I go there! I heard it is the best there!:)…查看更多

apologies but just because you are the only Korean restaurant in the area does not mean you can have bad service...I ordered a sprite...not only did it not come, I had to go and get it from the fridge myself. it was not cold, they did not have ice ready for anyone.I ordered three dishes, two mains and an entree pancake, the main dish arrived first, and then the other in 15 minutes.the pancake took 40 minutes to arrive, it was overcooked, too salty and unbelievably late...the simplest of a service industry, offer your customers tea or coffee. I had to ask over and over again. my mother had to get up to ask. this is bottom of rubbish service.…
