Booking: I booked Oct. 21 on Sept. 16 and requested a sea-view seat for my wife's birthday. Booking this early has its risks - as the worst thing happened: my booking vanished (I already had this experience before at a different restaurant.) We still got a table, but my wife is very upset.
Water: although we're asked to buy water, free water is available on request.
Bread: the crust is crispy, the center is soft. Good, but I expect an expensive restaurant to serve even better bread. Clearly Morton's bread is far more impressive.
Crab cakes ($175): A lot of crab meat, but it is somewhat soft. We like it very much, but prefer Morton's version, which is more solid.
Scallops ($160): Three scallops, one is smaller than the other two. Cooked very well, although I'd like even more seasoning. Wife says it's very good. (I think the smaller scallops at agnes b. Kowloon Tong tastes as good but costs less.)
T-Bone ($660): Luckily we didn't order the Porterhouse for 2 ($1240), otherwise it'd be too much for us. Since we're sharing the Australian T-Bone, each of us are given a really hot plate (I touched it to see how hot it is - Warning: do not do this - it burns!) with sauce on it. I guess it is indeed worth $660 - the medium-well T-Bone is perfectly cooked, very tender, and tastes good. However, we think Morton's is better again (but even more expensive) - it's not as tender but the taste has another layer of richness and the charcoal grill flavor is stronger.
Steak fries ($90): It consists of six large slices of potato. It's less crispy than I expected. Average.
Caramelized Banana Cream Pie ($120): Although everyone else here likes it, we're not impressed. Wife expects the caramelized banana to be crispy but they are not. I'm not fond of the liquidness of the center of the pie.
Birthday dessert ($0): This is a small size cheesecake. We think it is creamy, has great taste, and an optimal texture. I imagine a standard-size cheesecake ($120) will be too much for us.
Waiting time: We ordered at about 7:45pm, it's already 10pm after we finished dessert. We spent a lot of time waiting for the T-Bone - which is made worse since we didn't order soup (because we don't like lobster bisque or spicy soup). Even though we ordered the dessert at the beginning, we still waited a long time for it.
Service: other than my booking being disappeared, the service is good. A waitor tried to tell me the plates are very hot although I actually couldn't hear him properly.
