琴日同朋友一齊去左呢間度食...搵到好辛苦...我地係個度食...入到去好熱,,一d冷氣都冇,,,再加上個view唔係咁得!有個丫姐好明顯咩都唔識要人幫...另外個丫姐d態度好差!!我地叫左一個12" 既meat lover...個餅又幾好食,,,又有野飲送!!都算係咁嫁啦!不過下次我地會叫delivery..唔會堂食!

I'm a New Yorker, so when my friend told me about this place, I had to try it. They are currently doing a 'special' from 11am - 2pm where you an get half of a 9" pie and one can of soda for $28. I thought the pizza tasted pretty good! The pizza went really close to the edge which meant it had a really small crust (I call them "pizza bones"). I normally don't eat the pizza bones because it fills me up and I'd rather leave room for the real pizza. But, since there wasn't much of a pizza bone, I ate the crust too. Tasty, nice & just the right amount of crisp.

Warning - In their flyers, they market "Pizza sold by the slice", and shows 3 people holding giant slices of pizza. I don't know where they got that pic but NYPD does NOT sell pizza by the slice!

I really wish they did, but I guess they don't have high enough turnaround for that yet.

They offer pizza in 9", 12" or 16" pies. If you're by yourself, I think you could finish a 9". For guys, you probably want to supplement that with a salad or something else more meaty, or go for a 12".

Environment: The environment is... well... "unique", let me say... there are mechanics' shops in that dead-end street, but I was fine having a quick bite at the one sit-down (and one standing) table there. I would recommend getting it as takeaway but do know that the quality of the crust will be affected when you're travelling home with it in the box, but I'm OK with a potentially slightly soggier crust.

Much like the previous Taiwanese Noodles shop I had just reviewed, which similarly has also received a multitude of awards, I figured the mission of a Foodie is to try it out before you judge - I mean can you just believe and rely on some glamourised awards, especially when its literally untraceable and possibly acquired thru unof

How could we tell? Or should I pay for a meal myself and discover for once, whether its a genuine and justified, veritable achievement?

And here I was, parlaying my World Cup winnings on a Pizza Shop to seek out the truth for myself.....

SNACK PLATTER :
This is composed of 3 Buffalo Wings, 3 pieces of Garlic Bread and 3 singular Potato Wedges...... let me elaborate on the latter: how often in your life, have you received just three pitiful potato wedges only, in any servings of food platter?

Let alone three under-fried and overly oily pieces. The garlic breads were chewy, also under baked, and this scheme of things extended to the under fried Buffalo Wings, which had an external skin texture similar to undercooked chicken. I might sound extra mean tonight, but let me reiterate again the fact that I had just received a grand total of 3 individual potato wedges in a so called Snacks attack platter. Regardless if its not tasty anyway, may I urge the shop to seriously reconsider how ridiculous their niggardly portioning really is. It won't win you extra customers. 2/5

NEW YORK SUPREME PIZZA - THICK CRUST :
Fortunately, the thickish crusted pizza, "supposedly" New York styled is not as mediocre as the above. What really intrigued me still, is how this pizza ended up becoming so 'red oily' on each and every bite, reminiscent of my super oily experience at 程班長. Is this the red meat oil leaking out from the pepperoni when its being baked? I thought the overall composition of this pizza with its assortment of cured meats and diced capsicum together with a strong mozzarella cheese wasn't bad, but I did think its pizza dough base is too chewy and dense to be considered a good New York pizza. Its not cheap either, at $108 for 12 inches. 3.5/5

NYPD PIZZA in a way did satisfy the hype, as it really reminds me of one of many styles of pizzas available throughout New York and America (EDIT: Though not necessarily the most technically correct New York Style!), also its different from the traditional Italian versions or localised HK offerings served with either too much Tomato paste or Thousand Island sauce. I can trust that NYPD is working hard to distinguish itself from other normalised pizza outlets.

However the below par quality of the Snack Pack, the presence of too much oil in the pizza, as well as the overly elastic pizza dough base, has much more room for improvement indeed. I might be willing to give this shop another try soon - but if they do not find the solution on how to improve their food, they might not be so lucky to retain a recurrent customer by next time!
