For Kee is a family restaurant which has a long history in Sheung Wan district. Every time when I walk past it, I would love to check out how their cats are doing.I never got a chance to try out their food, as its opening hours don’t quite match with my schedule. Finally, I got to try it out after watching an early drama in Central. On the day of my visit, the shop cat had a great time sleeping in the sun.And the signature Pork Chop Rice really lives up to its fame. It’s freshly made upon ordering, so be patient and wait for the good stuff. There was a thin layer of transparent sauce on top. My friend and I thought it was oil at first, but it didn’t taste like so. More like delicious, thin sauce. Very nice to go with the rice and pork chop. The pork chop was definitely superb! Right thickness and tenderness to make it easy to bite and chew. Very flavored but won’t make you feel thirsty after eating it. Very addictive indeed! The rice was flavored with the aromatic soy sauce. Again, rightly flavored and won’t make you feel thirsty.Everything is just so right to the point and enjoyable! I should have tried it out earlier! Now I will grab every chance to have this delicious pork chop rice again!…
This restaurant has no decor, it's a simple, authentic and nostalgic restaurant that reminds one of 70s coffee shop in the movies. I discovered this restaurant by chance when I was walking around to find a place to settle for my lunch.I was lucky to arrive just before the lunch crowd and this place gets filled up within seconds. Patrons will be required to share tables with others. I opted for takeaway and ordered their Signature Pork Chop Set which comes with a drink. Think I paid $50 for the set.The pork chop rice was delicious, if I was required to find any flaws with it, it was a tad too oily for me. Overall, I think this is a popular spot for the locals and I would recommend anyone to come here earlier to try their food!…
I got here at around 2:30pm and there was a short line. But I was quickly seated down since they had one spot and everyone else was in 2’s or more. I asked what the different is between 豬扒飯 and 金牌豬扒飯 but the person taking my order said its the same thing which I thought was weird cuz why would they have both on the menu then...? I feel like he just wanted me to hurry up so I ordered a pork cutlet rice (豬扒飯) with egg for $52HKD. At first the person messed up my order and forgot the egg but before he handed it to me, he realized the mistake and took the plate back. The dish was rice mixed with soy sauce and topped with pork cutlet and sunny side up egg. The pork cutlet was juicy and soft. The sauce they put on the pork was really good, but some parts weren’t mixed very well and so some of the pork pieces were really salty. The egg was perfect 😍 it had a crispy edge with a runny yolk. The rice was ok; there were some chunks stuck together so I used my spoon to break them up. It was also a little too salty for me, so if I order the same dish next time, I’ll ask for less soy sauce. The restaurant is pretty small so people shared tables with one another, but I don’t mind. It’s a fast paced restaurant where people leave right after they finish eating, so if you want to chat and relax for a bit after eating, I don’t recommend this place 😆. …
