But let’s face it, we like what we like and I don’t believe in indulging myself all of the time – otherwise that would end up being boring too.
Anyway, back to the main point of this scribe which is to describe, or try to describe, my thoughts on my first and definitely not last visit to this great restaurant.
The first time I had Tom Yum Goong soup in Thailand it nearly incinerated my tonsils. For somebody who cannot take a lot of chilli, it was simply too much and I couldn’t taste the actual soup I was trying to enjoy.
Ayuthaiya’s Tom Yam Goong was simply the right spiciness for me – but it may not be for all of you chilli-lovers. The lemongrass, the taste of Thailand, was present but not overpowering. The prawns (shrimps) were succulent, not chewy as they can often be.
What followed was Goong Chae Nam Pla which may not be to everybody’s taste: raw, uncooked prawns (shrimps) served with a sliver of garlic and chilli on each and a sweet chilli sauce. Having eaten raw prawns before I was quite happy with them but some people may find this a little too much to handle. Fortunately, the chef at Ayuthaiya prepares them in such a way that they appear as tiny fish fillets and not raw prawns staring at you with their little beady eyes and long, fiddly antennae! Perfect.
With the best will in the world, I could not fault what arrived next: an appetizer dish consisting of Por Pia Poo Nim, baby soft shell crab with mango and basil, wrapped up in rice paper; Tod Mun Goong, prawn cakes with plum sauce; Salmon Miang Khem – check out the menu for this one, you eat the entire thing wrapped in a betel leaf, absolutely scrummy!
Accompanying all of this was a Monsoon Valley Colombard from Hua Hin’s Monsoon Valley Wine. Crisp and tasty.  Who knew that Thai wine could be this good?!
A short rest was interrupted with the arrival of two signature dishes: Gaeng Kiew Nua, braised beef cheek and Goong Mung Gon Pad Karee, baby lobster with yellow curry. A side dish of perfectly cooked vegetables and steamed rice accompanied these. The word delicious is pretty well over-used but I can’t think of any other. If there was any fault with this it was only that perhaps some extra cutlery be provided in order that all the pieces of lobster could be extracted with ease, rather than just with a fork and spoon. I’m sure I missed most of mine. The beef cheek melted in the mouth, it was so tender and the variety of flavours with it was divine.
Another Monsoon Valley wine, this time the Shiraz. A wine with a kick and that is all I will say, other than to mention that this vineyard is producing at least two pretty fine wines.
Finally, we reached the end with two ice creams, Coconut Pandanus and Lemongrass. I preferred the Coconut but the Lemongrass was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. With the addition of mango and sticky rice, Thailand’s national dessert (!), our feast was over.
If you have been to Thailand and are missing the cuisine, look no further. If you are looking for a night out with a group, or a romantic dinner, Ayuthaiya has just the right ambience for both. The service is slick, the music is at the right level.  I am smitten. And I will be back!

I requested a table on the upper floor because I thought it woud more private. There are still tables around but it is indeed more quiet and you get a view of what's happening outside (which is really only, the footbridge of the mid-levels escalators, a few bars & ebeneezers

For starters, I ordered beef satay, pork neck and crab mango roll. The pork neck was good with the sauce. For main course, I ordered Kao Pad Kapi (rice with shrimp paste), pad thai and 2 types of curry sauces. According to the waitress, she recommended Gaeng Kiew Wan, which is green curry with vegetables (I chose beef); and Panaeng Look Chin, which is red curry (I chose vegetables). Out of the two, I preferred the green curry. The flavor was very rich. It paired well with the rice.

For dessert, we ordered a variety which included sweet pumpkin pudding, coconut pandan ice cream and mango & coconut custard sago pudding. The sweet pumpkin pudding was my favourite. It was not too sweet and the taste was very unique. Obivously you could really tell you were eating pumpkin and you can see the presentation of the dessert is almost as if it was carved out of a pumpkin (the skin is not edible - atleast to me, so be sure you don't put the whole thing in your mouth). I liked this place and for how much I paid for a party of 5, it was affordable and worth it.

出面有少機會見到椰菜苗,我又特別鐘意泰式炒蔬菜嘅風味,所以這碟幼嫩的椰菜苗被我一掃而光,味道不太咸,但好香。餐具我都特別鐘意,是高臺式的青花瓷pattern,好靚~~~ 泰式炒金邊粉又喺我的最愛,必點項目,不過呢間鋪整體都不會太咸,辣,等重口,反而多咗D甜味,不知道算不算泰式菜的其中一種流派呢,因為我曾經在其他餐廳試過好重口好辣嘅泰國嘢,大概喜好都是因人而異吧。

My Martini didn't at all look like the sort of drink I'd normally order, but oh... I what a delight! Such a delicious combination of mango, coconut and alcohol - it instantly brought back all that's good about vacations on a tropical island. It's like "Holiday in a Glass" and I recommend it to all of those w
ho - like myself - wish to be transported into a hammock on the beach right now.

Once we'd sampled the drinks we immediately went to the buffet to systematically try all there is and we were in for quite a treat! I started with the Tom Yum hot and sour soup. This was a "vegetarian" option, which made quite a nice change as there was no overcooked shrimp floating in it like you usually see at Thai buffets. The heat was "moderated" enough to be easy fare for anyone who likes a bit of spice but not too much. (After all, there are not many people who can take the heat of a Tom Yum made in Thailand, let's face it...) What was great about this soup was that you didn't have to "pick" at it. There were no inedible bits floating in it, just yummy, delicious straw mushrooms, tiny vegetable cubes like broccoli etc., so you could really enjoy it without having to worry about biting on a piece of hard galangal. This made the soup so much easier to eat for all those who don't know "what's what" in a Tom Yum and it prevented half of the soup going back into the kitchen. I loved the fact that even though there was no "Kung" (prawn) in it, the soup still had all the essential characteristics and notes of a traditional Tom Yum that we've come to love so dearly.

Moving on to the next dish: the Som Tum (papaya salad). Again, it was authentic in flavour but moderated in chili, so definitely something you could tuck into without the worry of biting on something too hot to handle.

One of our absolute favourites was the Pomelo Salad. Now that was absolutely blissful... A wonderful medley of textures and flavours with a wonderful chrunch to it. We went back for seconds... Caution: this dish is highly addictive!

The rice sheet rolls were also extremely yummy and we needed to have seconds of these, too. Very fresh and held on porcelain spoons to make it an easy to consume mess-free mouthful of glorious Thai flavours with a creamy curry gravy to die for.

The fried spring rolls also came cut into bite-size portions on a spoon, a good thing because I easily overeat on these and they are naughty as they're deep fried. Very crisp on the outside and with a good solid filling. We also tried the shrimp meat baked in a coating of crumbs around a stick of lemongrass and these were good, too, but not overly exciting.

The satays deserve a mention, too. We tried all of them: pork, beef and chicken, but couldn't decide which one we liked best (even though we went back for more, just to "decide"...). Each was nice in its own right. The beef was tender and not overcooked. The pork was also moist and the chicken also was not too dry but easily came off the skewer (a quality that is often underrated in my point of view).

My all time favourite snack, the betel leaf stuffed with goodies such as shallot, chili, garlic, pomelo, dry shrimp, lime, toasted coconut among others lightly doused with a tangy sweet sauce was again an absolute winner.

While it may be a challenge to some (not me!) to eat it the way it is meant to be eaten (i.e. wrap it all in the leaf and pop it in your mouth in one big scoop), the experience of this unique taste explosion is not to be missed! It's all that's good about Thai flavours all wrapped up into one mouthful - what could be more wonderful than that?

For our main courses we ordered the green curry with chicken and the "Thai Curry Eggs Benedict". Now, while I knew the green curry would be just amazing (I have dined here before and know that their curries are lovely), the eggs were something I was very curious about. The idea of "Curry Benedict" didn't ring right, but my curiosity demanded that I try it for exactly that reason. (All too often have I discovered something delightfully new but just "trying" something that was a bit out of the box....) Anyway, the eggs didn't come on a muffin as I had expected for whatever reason, but they came on a bed of Thai fried rice. The rice was very delicious, I must say and the eggs while - in my humble opinion overcooked - were pretty good too. But the best was the lush thick curry sauce that topped the eggs. I think they should rename the dish so as not to confuse the customer and to manage their expectations. Anyone expecting "Eggs Benedict" would've been disappointed as the eggs were not poached but fried. And the disappointment might distract from the fact that this dish was simply yummy!

The Thai green curry (served with fluffy steamed Thai rice) tasted mild and creamy and quite authentic (and again, not too much chilli - but you can ask for some fresh "Prik Nam Phla" if you're into chili). As with the Tom Yum, the curry was a very "easy to eat" meal with no "inedibles", meaning that the sauce was perfectly blended and probably strained and thus not only eye-pleasing but also attractive to all those many fickle eaters who get put off by bits of lemongrass or lime leaf.We also sampled the Thai wine with the main courses, my friend had the white wine and I had the red wine. Now these wines were a true surprise. And while these wines are of course not at all to be compared with big old world wines we're used to drinking, they have a unique charm all of their own and are refreshingly light and drinkable without being overpowering, which actually makes them go well with the Thai cuisine (something I cannot usually say for other wines).

Still, I was besotted with the Mango & Sticky Rice Martini and while having more refills than I dare admit here, I also tried all the dessert at the buffet.
The fresh fruit was - of course - fresh and lovely but it was the steamed pumpkin custard that caught my eye. Real comfort food: delicious pumpkin flesh, soft enough to eat but without being mushy, filled w
ith creamy custard that had just the right texture (not hard or jellylike, but just "right"). 
My favourite dessert were these little square cups of banana leaf filled with a coconut mango dessert that - while I'm not sure what it was called - was the perfect finish to a perfect brunch.

题外话/补充资料: True Thai flavours but in a somewhat advanced and very civilized presentation. All of the taste but none of the hassle of picking out chilies or inedible bits.

最近似乎愛上了Sunday Brunch,差不多每星期日都要吃個brunch才感安樂。無他的,一星期下來,只想星期天的早上,來個輕鬆的早午餐,為一星期的勞碌作獎賞,亦為接下一來的一星期充一充電。這天,不吃中式不吃西式,不如來個泰式?這個泰式brunch,逢星期六日供應,而價錢是這樣的: 任吃頭盤和甜點和數款飲品,另外包了一份主菜, $188+10%;如想無限添飲酒精飲品,則可另加$100,添飲項目包括: Singha Beer. 超喜歡這款沙律,大部份的柚子沙律都是standard的味道,但這個加入了很多的材料,甜酸辣都有,而且柚子清甜多汁,實在是夏日的消暑美食,所以我吃了很多很多。

平日吃青木瓜沙律,總覺得味道怪怪的,但這次覺得十分美味,這款青木瓜不會很生,亦不帶苦味,反而帶有些清甜的味道;而當中的蝦亦彈牙,感覺上十分健康,吃完又吃。

Traditional Green Curry with Prawn
其實吃頭盤已經吃得有點飽,但不要忘記還有主菜吧;有5-6款的主菜可選,而我則選了我最喜歡的青咖哩。青咖哩很美味喔,辣度剛剛好;選了蝦,蝦球新鮮彈牙,當中的蔬菜亦爽口,這個青咖哩用來伴飯實在一流。特別一提的是這裡的米飯十分美味,怕肥的我也要吃些飯才心息。

另一款主菜則是seabass,味道做得不錯,當中甜甜的;特別喜歡當中有些nuts,這款魚給我的感覺就像中式的糖醋魚,用來伴飯實在不錯。

吃過主菜後,少不了的當然是甜點;先吃pumpkin pudding,我不算愛吃甜點,但這個,吃完一件又一件;甜度不高,質感軟滑,蛋味濃郁,南瓜味亦突出,味道上很平衡,不過真的很飽肚呢。

來一件飯後果吧,但其實飯後果是不好的,還是飯前果比較好吧。
大部份的brunch價錢都是三百多元,當然,不同菜式不能相提並論,但如果想星期天舒適地享用brunch,又不想太貴,這裡絕對是值得一來的。

假日,很愛Brunch!跟朋友悠閒自在用餐,聊聊天,說說笑,為接下來的工作天充充電!...從中環港鐵站走到荷李活道,大汗淋漓的,踏進餐廳,不禁想起泰國旅遊的時光!以酒吧及餐廳揉合的又一泰,點點亞洲渡假風情,跟假日很配!這里的Brunch以半自助餐形式供應,頭盤、湯及甜品任吃,主菜及飲品各選一款!先嚐青木瓜沙律,青木瓜絲幼細帶爽,醬汁不會過濃,帶點點酸甜及少量花生碎,很易的打開胃口!柚子沙律具頗濃惹的馬拉盞味道,但甜度可放輕些,個人亦偏好撕得較大塊的柚子,口感會再好些!...串燒有雞、牛、豬三款,試了雞及豬,特別愛肉質爽彈的豬肉,吃時蘸上濃而香甜的沙嗲醬,不錯吃!當然,如串燒是燒後即吃,一定會更美味呢!冬蔭功酸度可,但辣度欠奉,加上海鮮料不太充足,味道過淡!...選了鱸魚作主菜,鱸魚已起肉並炸成小方,再沾甜醬,很適合懶人如我!若魚肉炸的時間縮短,嫩滑程度會更理想!淺嚐朋友所選的泰式炒金邊粉、黃青咖哩,青咖哩味道芳香而帶點點辛辣,配白飯一流,可算是當日較好的主食!...甜品水果也是任吃,芒果西米糕面層的芒果打成蓉,吃來滑而甜美,配合具咬口的西米糕,不錯吃;水果香甜,西瓜頗為起沙,質素佳!部

先嚐青木瓜沙律,
青木瓜絲幼細帶爽,醬汁不會過濃,
帶點點酸甜及少量花生碎,很易的打開胃口!

柚子沙律具頗濃惹的馬拉盞味道,
但甜度可放輕些,
個人亦偏好撕得較大塊的柚子,口感會再好些!

串燒有雞、牛、豬三款,試了雞及豬,
特別愛肉質爽彈的豬肉,吃時蘸上濃而香甜的沙嗲醬,不錯吃!
當然,如串燒是燒後即吃,一定會更美味呢!

冬蔭功酸度可,
但辣度欠奉,加上海鮮料不太充足,
味道過淡!

選了鱸魚作主菜,
鱸魚已起肉並炸成小方,再沾甜醬,很適合懶人如我!
若魚肉炸的時間縮短,嫩滑程度會更理想!

淺嚐朋友所選的泰式炒金邊粉、黃青咖哩,
青咖哩味道芳香而帶點點辛辣,
配白飯一流,可算是當日較好的主食!

甜品水果也是任吃,
芒果西米糕面層的芒果打成蓉,
吃來滑而甜美,配合具咬口的西米糕,不錯吃;
水果香甜,西瓜頗為起沙,質素佳!

部份食物尚有進步空間,
但人均才$188(1位成人惠顧,1位10歲以下小童免費)
即可享用這里的泰式Brunch呢!

喜歡雞尾酒的話,「Ayuthaiya」設計了三款泰式雞尾酒,我試了兩款。紅色的是 Ayuthaiya Mary,是 Bloody Mary 的變奏版,最獨特的是酸清的蕃茄汁配合紅辣椒的辛辣,為喉嚨帶出一點火辣,甚有泰的感覺!而白色的 Orchid Temple,由 Rum、青檸汁等調製,還配上荔枝果味。喜歡創意口味的人,大可一試,尤其是 Ayuthaiya Mary!

Pork Betel Leaf 內有細小、富彈性的豬肉粒,混上乾蔥、椰絲、紅蔥頭、花生、香芧、魚露、糖與辣椒等,酸、甜、鹹、辣的泰味盡現,口感亦多元化,非常惹味!

沙嗲肉質鬆軟,可惜不帶一絲燒烤的焦香,似乎欠了一份生氣;沙嗲醬稍甜,缺乏沙嗲香氣與層次,效果平平!

冬蔭功湯的味道調得太淡了,雖然香港人嚐辣的程度比泰國人遜色,若先不論香草的味道,但最基本酸辣也不至於淡得基乎嚐不出來吧!

木瓜沙律口味正宗,酸、辣、甜和魚露的味道俱備,而且配搭平衡,加上爽脆的青木瓜絲和車厘茄,令人非常開胃,大可多嚐一點!

柚子沙律用料十足,入口盡是飽滿多汁、鮮甜清嫩的柚子肉,配上甜甜的醬汁,女孩子們必定愛上它。

嚐過了多款小食,是時候來主食了。主食有泰式奄列、黃咖喱飯、青咖喱飯、泰式炒金邊粉、鱸魚和菠蘿炒飯,共有六款選擇之多!我和友人分別選了青咖喱蝦飯和鱸魚。

青咖喱蝦飯也做得相當正宗,咖喱香氣十足,味甜中帶辣,惹味非常。再加上蝦隻爽彈和芳香的白飯,要清掉整碗白飯絕無難度,不過還是要忍著......為了小豬腩變得更小!

鱸魚賣相相當漂亮,以炸的烹調方式,拌以酸甜醬汁作主調。醬汁味道自然,調味也恰好,與香脆的腰果、紅燈籠椒、西芹粒等配搭,清新而不膩,層次感也鮮明。不過敗筆卻落在鱸魚身上,魚粒炸得太乾了,白白浪費了鱸魚的鮮味,真有點可惜!

還試了生果兜上俗稱「泰國黃皮」的蘆菇,初嚐這款蠍子喜愛的水果,味道清甜,擁有一股獨特的香氣,蠍子果然懂得吃!

「Ayuthaiya」以泰式小吃為題的 Sunday Brunch,每款份量不大,再經篩選至愛口味後,不會吃得太瘋,肚皮亦不會太飽脹,發現這輕鬆的選擇也不錯!又可以與友人在兩小時裡慢慢談、細細飲、輕輕食,輕盈體泰此中尋!

另一個也是不錯的前菜是這個木瓜絲沙律, 泰式木瓜絲絲清爽, 入口有涼快感。加上汁醬少少酸甜味道, 清淨口中味蕾, 也是個去除暑氣的選擇。

主菜點上一個泰式炒金邊粉, 金邊粉彈牙有嚼勁, 花生碎惹味, 捏下青檸汁帶鮮酸味道。可惜覺得汁醬過濃, 甜味太強, 自感有點失衡, 而且蝦隻彈性不足。主菜不能說是合格!

見教父可樂飲得起勁, 還是偏要來點別的。已忘記了飲品的名字, 但記得飲品用上不少藍莓, 蔓越莓裝飾, 入口士多啤梨味中有乳酸的清涼感覺。薄荷葉味, 多種紅黑莓子的酸爽新鮮, 令人越想繼續喝。

甜品方面, 個人會選擇水果, 星期日的時間, 看著外邊下著大雨, 吃著甜甜水果, 感覺很爽。

整體來說, 前菜食物好壞參半, 我喝的飲品還選是可以的。不過可能中環地區, 地方就覺有點淺窄。又可能是這樣的原因, 半自助餐收放碟子沒有做得迅速, 加上雜飲需一杯一杯的調教, 所以服務感覺有點怠慢。

好彩有幾把風扇….亦因為有大有細…所以好難即時轉其他餐廳。
首先我地點左拼盤(3款) $218 有芒果軟殼蟹卷 + 串燒 (可以揀豬、牛或者雞) + 辣既三文魚包。記得串燒很不錯~

在soho一般都選吃西餐、日菜,眼見這$98三道菜的「平價」之選,大家不約而同地贊成一試。準時中午12時入座,絕對不用等位,及後則人流不斷。大熱暑天,店內冷氣不算強勁,幸好有電風扇從旁協助,不致整頓午飯大汗淋漓。餐廳室內設計時尚,像是個三五知己暢飲的好地方。我們四人特地選了不同的set lunch,除主菜外,每個套餐還配有湯及飲品,算是同區較抵食的選擇。整體食物味道不過不失,雖然質素難以跟九龍城的泰菜相比,但那不辣帶甜的咖哩也算是一大驚喜,味道很醒胃,是最快被「清碟」的一道。最失望的要算是這個拼盤,賣相不算吸引,食物質素更是四個set中最差的一道。其餘的兩個set都表現正常,不過加上最後附送且味道不錯的椰汁膏,我們總算盡興而回。

Came here for dinner with a friend because we suddenly felt like having Thai food so we gave this restaurant a shot and they did us good yummmmmms~We ordered a soft shell crab rice paper roll as starters; the soft shell crabs were still hot and crispy on the outside, soft and tasteful on the inside. For main we ordered a crab meat with veggie dish, a pineapple and seafood fried rice, and a shrimp paste Tung Choi vegetable dish. All these dishes were nice and traditional; we liked each and every dish very much especially for the crabmeat dish it was so flavorful and had a creamy sauce with a kick of coconut paste on top of it.

For desserts we ordered a Sweet Sticky Rice and Fresh Mango, the sweetness was just right for me even though my friend said it was too sweet for her. The mango was soft in texture also not sour at all, and the sticky rice was not too tough but rather chewy (in a nice way).

Overall score I’d give it a 4/5, it is one of the better tasting Thai food restaurants I’ve been to so far.

<font size="3">Soho區少有噶飲野兼埋野食都平、靚、正。有正宗泰國廚,嘢食唔錯,叫咗沙爹串,豬肉最好味!冬陰公保留泰式風味,椰奶不會過重!Green curry好正,夠spicy又好香!5-8pm遇著happy hour,隨意叫佐杯 Long island,居然出奇的好飲!酒精絕對無偷工減料😁唯一就系air con唔夠,所以有啲熱 😅</font>

一般的泰式食物都有,還有一些創新選擇。good可能到場時間尚早,630,人客不多。細心介紹食品,當中小食配搭,可選三樣$188,好適合多心的女孩,每樣試少少,又可以試到多樣食物。。。贊!點了蝦餅,芒果軟殻蟹卷,肉丸,當中肉丸比較特別,由炸面條包在肉丸外,咬下時有脆脆口感,中間軟軟肉丸質感。芒果卷外皮厚了點點點,但中間一配料十足,咬下時一不小心中間配料會跌晒。蝦餅都好食,不油,蝦膠爽。椰汁雞肉湯,味道同冬陰公一樣,但椰汁味較濃,有點冬陰公的酸辣,好醒胃。主菜本想試下一個咖哩龍蝦,但一次食這間店先點一個咖哩蝦試味先,再點個酥餅配咖哩,咖哩唔太辣,又有椰香味及香滑,正。
