continue reading

We had a delightful Saturday afternoon meeting friends who had just returned from their extensive business trip across various cities in China. After experiencing the culinary delights of different provinces, they still believed that Cantonese cuisine was the best among all. Jade Garden, a restaurant belonging to the Maxim Group with multiple branches in Hong Kong, lived up to its reputation. The extensive menu, presented in a thick booklet, ensured that every dish we ordered met our expectations in terms of taste and presentation. One noteworthy aspect was their lunch hours, which ended at 3pm. In many other restaurants in Hong Kong, it's common for the staff to start vacuuming the carpet around your table and making loud noises while sorting out cutlery and plates, which can be quite annoying and make guests feel rushed. However, at Jade Garden located in Star House, the staff worked diligently and discreetly. We were able to continue our conversation and stay until almost 4pm without feeling pressured to leave. On the downside, the service was a bit slow, and there weren't many visible servers throughout the entire lunch session. Additionally, the floor in the restroom was wet and slippery, which could pose a safety hazard. continue reading

My favorite Dim Sum restaurant in HK.  The dim sums are absolutely delicious,  they are traditional dim sums with a luxury twist.  The dim sums menu for 2x is perfect for a couple.  If you have more than 2x people, you order a menu for 2x and add a couple of other a la carte dishes or dim sums, i guarantee you will have a great lunch!!  Another advantage of this restaurant is, unlike other Dim Sum restaurants in HK, here you can make a reservation. Which means that you don't need to wait for nearly an hour to get your table.    Remember to reserve a sea view table.  The price is slightly higher than other dim sum restaurants, but the quality is worth it.   The tables here are not too closely packed.  Therefore,  it is not as noisy as most other dim sum restaurants.  You can have a good conversation without shouting at each other (cos in some restaurants, yumcha dim sums can be a very noisy business!!).Highly recommended. continue reading
