其實好食好飲,仲賣埋蛋糕、飽餅、花同精品,感覺似passion但商品更全面,理應值得推介。惟廚房得一個焗爐、兩個煎pan、一個男侍應負責煮野、每次只煮一樣野。另一女侍應負責落單、收銀及整野飲。佢地用取餐器但永遠唔夠用,上次有4個侍應d單都亂晒,加上廚房慢,我一行5人等左40-50分鐘先有野食,1位朋友等唔切,要將pizza轉意粉再用5分鐘食完。今次單冇亂但慢過上次,一行4人等左50分鐘都冇野食,最後兩份轉外賣,兩份cancel補野飲錢,仲要第二份pizza其實係錯單同勁油,結果餓住肚遲返再嗌茶記外賣。上次來侍應係毫無怯意,今次有話唔好意思但以後lunch我都唔會再去。或者侍應可以講要遲一個鐘,d客會知難而退,免得你又辛苦我又辛苦。…Read More

星期五同一位朋友約左黎食飯,朋友未到我先攞位,當時12:30,短髮侍應俾左個兩人位,10分鐘內催左我兩次,話唔嗌野食張枱就要俾人。我放低個袋去櫃位落單,佢唔客氣我都唔會同佢客氣,直接問長髮收銀有冇限食幾耐,估唔到佢真係答「盡快啦!」面色同語氣臭過洗腳水。但佢收銀又唔見得快啫。之後朋友來到已經即刻落單,都要等半個鐘先有野食。咁你廚房又唔見得快啫。食食下佢又趕隔離枱走,人地一食完就趕人走。由於朋大既野食1點先到,我地食完已1點半,外面人龍已減,佢即收枱但冇直接趕我地。我知你想做多幾枱客,但你廚房做得切咩?既然營業額一樣,點解唔可以對客好d?你對客好,可能佢地會合作,都想你做多單生意唔好執笠住。你咁寸嘴,食左都唔落格。其實life@kcc入面好多食肆都實行12:45前埋單8折,鼓勵客人早d還枱。你咁趕咪齋做外賣囉。公道講句野食係唔錯,性價比高,但就預左係咁俾人催俾人寸囉。…Read More

今次想講點心!呢間舖新開張,個廚幫過一點心拎米芝蓮,但係環境就好過一點心,款式又多,就算唔係去開太子都要專誠黎一試!其實今日已係我第二次幫襯。第一次係兩星期前既一個星期六,想約朋友聚舊又諗唔倒旺角附近邊到唔駛等位,於是決定約黎呢度食tea。間舖位處太子A出口旺角警署對面,個招牌桃紅色非常搶眼,加埋個迷幻大招牌,約人實唔會搵唔倒。入到去,裝修比我想像中靚,地方闊偌,乾淨企理,而且d姐姐好好招呼。雖然4點鐘odd hour,但差唔多滿座。由於仲飽飽地,我同個friend只係叫左蝦餃、小籠包同薑汁糕:我地傾到6點半先走,賣單只係每人$30***今日又拉大隊,同親戚一行9人黎食lunch。等左約10分鐘,終於等倒張長枱。餐牌上既野差唔多有一半俾我地點左去點左去 蝦餃、燒賣、菜苗餃、北菇雞飯、鳳爪、薑汁糕、叉燒包、馬拉糕、炸雲吞、咸水角、馬蹄糕、蝦腸、野菌脆腸、老火湯樣樣試齊,真係未試過有點心舖可以蝦餃燒賣、炸物、腸粉、糕點俱佳。所有蝦點心都係推介,d蝦爽口又夠多;其次就係糕點,好少馬拉糕可以蒸得咁鬆軟!腸粉又薄又滑,炸野香脆即上碟。而且佢d野唔油膩,試多幾款都仲得 燒賣:皮薄餡靚大大粒,蝦同豬肉比例恰到好處,豬肉夠爽口唔肥膩蝦腸:粉皮夠薄又夠滑,d蝦同蝦餃果d一樣咁正脆蝦棒:改左個攪笑名叫「不是春卷」,香脆多蝦,d蝦又夠大隻蝦餃:至高無上真心推北菇滑雞飯:起碼有三舊大大件既滑雞,d飯粒粒分明點黐牙點心拼盤:有叉燒包、蝦餃、粉果各二,$38,即係每舊點心約$6!可惜我唔食粉果古法馬拉糕:超級鬆軟,而且甜味較得啱啱好食左咁多頂點都係每人約$100,絕對物有所值!如果你鐘意食傳統靚點心,呢度就啱晒你!…Read More

I'm writing this because there were no english reviews by far. please forgive my awkward english.i've only visited oak tree twice but i think i've already fallen in love with it. my first visit was last thursday night, when me and 6 more friends were looking for a place to eat because a chef that we've booked was sick and couldn't entertain us. we made a reservation at 6pm and surprisingly there were still seats available (the day was the beginning of a 5-day easter vacation in hong kong, and jordan is a convenient location).the restaurant is situated on 1/F of the Rainbow Hotel (so there's a lift) and provides everything from local breakfast to italian food. i'm not in the position to tell whether the italian food is authentic or not, but there're a few foreign chefs there, plus a filipino guitar singer who serenades diners with oldies like "killing me softly" and "can't help falling in love". if you wish to chat without interference this may not be the place for you, but if you enjoy oldies or want your favorite melody or a birthday song to be sung, you're in the right place!guests there, as i observed, were mostly middle-aged and they seemed to have already befriended the manager despite that the restaurant has only be there for 1.5 years. the manager is a very friendly middle-aged guy who answered whatever silly questions we raised out. i find it hard to believe when i saw a few chinese reviews saying that people there were rude - i went twice and so far the experiences have been wonderful.the place was dimly lit, with wooden chairs and emerald green table cloths that pleased the eyes and fake vines that daggled from the ceiling. there was a row of windows facing Novotel and a wine cabinet at the entrance. there's also a bar table next to the kitchen. it wasn't first class, but it's cozy.we brought our own wine but since we ordered a dozen oysters, there was also a free bottle of red wine. corkage was $180 if i remembered correctly. we also ordered a salad, a pizza, a steak, the signature cook-at-your table carbonara and Suzette (orange wine) crepe alongside a chocolate lava cake and a creme brulee. there's some complimentary bread.i'm not a frequent visitor of hotel restaurants so i cannot compare, and since rainbow hotel is not 5-star i find it ridiculous for reviewers to compare oak tree with what they called "other hotel restaurants". i bet for "other hotel restaurants" you've to book much earlier and pay much more. so all i can say is "you get what you pay for". all dishes came out fresh and tasty: the pizza was crispy and aromatic; the steak was served at your table by the manager, it's gigantic, tender, juicy and not overcooked. the carbonara was cooked in a huge imported cheese "bowl". the roman chef who served us said it's the authentic way - pouring burning liquer into the cheese bowl and stir-frying the carbonara in it so that the melted cheese would blend into the pasta. i was glad that the pasta's not too soft and was extremely aromatic, thanks to the cheese and liquer.the suzette crepe was cooked by the manager and it's too beautiful to be missed. first he melted the sugar on a pan, then added in orange juice and zest, followed by the crepe and finally the burning liquer that flowed down the spiral orange peel into the crepe. the smell will enchant you. it was topped with orange flesh and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.all was good except for the creme brulee, which was overcooked. this minor flaw has not spoiled my dinner. we're chatting rather loudly but the manager was tolerant. the waiters and waitresses attended to every guest's needs and i could see no frustrastion from the guests that night.and of course, there was live music. those who enjoy visiting bars in south asian countries will love the restraurant for offering them those everlasting tunes that strikes a chord (or several). the singer is stationed there tues to sun, 6:30pm-10pm. i know this because i went there for a 2nd time and my friend chatted with the singer (and the manager and the chef). songs are sung at intervals, each ending and starting with a non-vocal guitar solo, so you'll still have time to chat in between performances.this is getting too lengthy so i'll keep my 2nd dining experience short. i went with a female friend 6 days later and we ordered just escargot, carbonara and suzette crepe for dinner. we clapped for the singer so he asked to give a few song names, which he gladly sang at our table. my friend said she'd probably visit again with her family (coz of the oldies i guess) and i probably would too.…Read More

事緣約左朋友響旺角食飯,諗唔倒食乜,就上openrice搵左呢間地點對大家黎講都方便既樓上cafe。去之前睇過d食評,見佢近來負評較多,主要係侍應態度惡劣、食物等好耐同食物用料唔夠,因此早已期望不大,但食完之後又覺得冇想像中咁差。7:45pm,我同其中一位朋友先到,冇book位,侍應俾左3樓既「三人座」梳化卡位我地。所謂三人座,其實望落去坐得兩個人,加上係橢圓形枱面,其實放唔倒好多野。問左侍應兩次可唔可以轉去隔離未有人坐既四人位,佢都係話三人只可以坐呢個位。我地見倒前面有兩張長多少少、勉強坐倒六個人既梳化卡位,心諗唔知係咪八人座?復古傢俬係靚,不過如果想坐得舒服,呢度唔係你杯茶﹣先少3樓唔係。(換個角度,學我朋友話齋,可能第一次約女仔想坐close d,咁就ok。)侍應話用餐時間唔可以超過兩個鐘,否則每小時最低消費為每人每小時一杯飲品。因為我記得d食評講過話野食黎得好慢,所以我同朋友決定各點一份set dinner先。個menu好似雜誌咁,雖然未必user-friendly,但都有d心思。set dinner $98, 包乳酪沙律、$39飲品及main course。我點左煙三文魚天使冷麵(加$10)配凍榛子咖啡(冷熱同價),朋友點左鹽酥雞扒飯配奇異果茶。可能仲未有好多客,10分鐘後已有沙律上,冇想像中咁差。點解係天使冷麵而唔係天使麵呢?我相信只係人手不足既解決方案。8:20,main course抵疊,另一位朋友亦同時到達,佢就冇咁好彩,點左牛油雜菌飯配凍朱古力,但等左45分鐘先到,而且漏左上沙律。催單時侍應話:「我地都係跟返入單時間做。」講果時臉無笑容,一副matter-of-fact的模樣。可能就係咁樣得罪左唔少客。其實跟入單時間做係冇錯,只係個presentation可以好d、講野語氣親切d,會令人覺得較舒服。當晚唔算太噪,都傾倒偈。直至9:30,先發現原來逢星期一及二9:30至11:30有live band performance,有個彈結他既男仔同個唱歌既女仔上左台,跟住就唱左幾隻普通話歌,當中包括陳綺貞《旅行的意義》。其實佢地既performance唔差,奈何我同朋友我耐冇見,惟有響強勁音響之下繼續嘗試傾計,終於10點鐘埋單走人。之後上佢地網站睇,發現3至7樓各有不同主題,而且有出自己既blog、雜誌($5)及寄賣飾品、傢俬、indie CD,並於昆明設有分店。其實佢個concept唔差,好有心思經營,食物質素唔算差(最少煙三文魚天使冷麵同鹽酥雞扒飯ok;咖啡ok,不過佢係咖啡唔係latte,小心好似我咁飲完瞓唔著)如果execution可以再好d,其實好有存在價值。另外我響openrice見倒有間叫「呼吸飯店」頂左土瓜灣歷史悠久既白宮冰室,唔知係咪同一個老細?希望佢地可以用心經營,延續小店特色。…Read More

諗住開開心心同屋企人做冬,點知食到一肚氣!入左黎欣榮住兩年,自問係熟客,屋企人差唔多日日都去飲茶,年中買唔少年糕券月餅券,但唔知係咪因為從富臨漁港轉左做富臨皇宫,部長同經理都轉晒。今晚真係好嬲,同屋企人決定以後都唔再去食晚飯!今晚提早一星期做冬,約左親戚共九人,book左位,去到富臨見到人頭湧湧,已心知不妙。做節期間只可以嗌套餐,我地嗌左個$1,888八人餐,7:30人齊叫上菜,跟住一路傾住偈一路等......等......等。等左20分鐘,有個部長走過來問係咪上得菜,我地就話嗌左起菜啦喎。點知再等多20分鐘都係冇動靜,於是我地當中兩三個人開始扯火,部長講左好多次「黎緊」,但係我地就係咁見住隔離果枱俾我地遲入座既食客d菜係咁上......。之後嘈左好耐,男經理先莆頭,但都只係話「黎緊」,其時我老豆已嬲到唔肯坐低。又過左20分鐘,終於上左兩味餸:芝士焗龍蝦同埋炸子雞。其實係人都知富臨既芝士焗龍蝦唔得,如果同九龍城竹園比就更高下立見。報紙之前都講過話富臨d芝士焗龍蝦夾雜蟹柳,不過屋企人鐘意食呢味餸,冇辦法。一如既往,龍蝦肉「梅」、冇肉、芝士用芝士粉整。呢d都算,我當佢將貨就價。但成碟餸凍晒 - 既然只係套餐野、唔係新鮮整,點解我要等咁耐呢?我地燥到咁都俾d凍晒既野比我食,你係唔想做我地生意既,其實樓下成條食街,再唔係飛的出九龍城又得,駛唔駛恃住附近冇乜酒樓而比d咁差既野出黎呢?炸子雞凍既,之後既海鮮卷都係凍既,皮硬,入面得一隻蝦。瑤柱甫、扇貝都凍晒。可能因為套餐關係,份量都好縮水。:(走果時d阿姐都有出來陪不是,話因為轉左新經理唔熟手。可惜仲有後着。臨走我家姐埋單,跟手攞泊車證,經理話要泊車收條。我家姐拍八達通冇攞收條,惟有落停車場攞返,但經理睇完就算,唔駛keep收條。其實係咪咁信我地唔過呢?其實你驚乜野呢?驚我地攞左泊車證聽日用?總之一肚氣,如果唔係因為近欣榮、多街坊客,我真係諗唔倒點解仲會有人去!…Read More

Yesterday I went for the Cheung Chau bun festival and me and my friends ordered the Bali beef and the ginger rice, which are really good. i personally love the settings of the restaurant as well, esp the Indonesian paintings and the table cloths. 呢間野d waiters不知所謂!以後冇幫襯!!今晚獨個兒上紅磡Paris Cafe,諗住食dinner同靜靜地睇下雜誌。上到去一如既往冇人greet我冇人招呼客人,見倒櫃台入面有三、四個0靚仔整色整水,其實都冇乜特別事做,就係冇人出來招呼客人。好,我當佢\地咁多隻眼冇隻見倒我,在餐\廳來回踱了幾步,挑了電視機旁的座位,安靜地坐了下來。坐左大概五5分鐘,見\"waiter\"得個wait字,並無郁動既跡象,就\"咩\"袋(註:因為我係單人匹馬前往光顧)上前問企左響門口類似老板娘既物體要餐\牌,其實Paris Cafe向來都有waiter走到客人座位旁邊主動招呼,況且呢間野d餐\牌又唔係放響食客桌上,而係疊埋一齊放於櫃台;我又唔想響咁大間cafe入面大叫\"waiter!\",依加又唔係去茶樓!當時我既神色並無表現不滿/不悅,\"老板娘\"就笑住口咁叫我坐返埋位等一陣。我在書架拎了本TEA Magazine,返埋位睇。等了良久,睇完晒成本magazine,都唔見有waiter行埋黎,倒是有班人從cafe的另一邊自行搬到電視機呢邊坐。我數次望向櫃台,全部職員卻總是背向客人。(櫃台設於餐\廳近出口的一角)更可惡既係,間餐\廳既面積雖然唔算細,企響櫃台位置,卻能一眼望晒!當時約9pm,在場所見只有6台客,當中不乏單人或二人散客,而且似乎經已坐下了良久,經已食緊/食完野,即係經已唔駛點招呼!咁有客人開到聲要menu,試問遞個menu有幾難呀?於是我\"咩\"袋行上前輕聲問\"老板娘\":\"請問呢度係咪習慣自助式?\"老板娘\"一臉不悅,皮笑肉不笑,聲稱因為大部份客人已坐定定,就冇留意到我!又話人手唔夠(在場所見,櫃台共有5名職員!),仲話經已道左歉,要不就坐返埋位,要不就離開!我就話其實我幫襯了好幾次,唔係今日先發現服務態度有問題!整個過程我所言不多,語調帶點諷刺但絕對保持禮貌,聲線亦放得很輕!只是反映事實卻被人如此無禮對待,我呢世都唔會再幫襯佢\!其實早在4年前我就不時幫襯呢間Paris cafe的前身- 擴充前的地舖Paris Cafe。此為最早開店的Paris cafe之一,可謂Paris Cafe的發跡之地。搬上一樓擴充後易左手,裝橫不錯,地方較寬躺,食物價格上調;書架上的雜誌較以前的通俗,客人亦越趨平民化、年青化。由於家住附近,偶爾也來喝杯hot mocha或帶屋企人來食lunch,d員工卻總是呆頭呆腦的。有次問佢\地tea time可否叫lunch menu上的野食(當時佢\係俾左both lunch and tea menu我地,到我地想嗌lunch menu上的野食時又話經已過左lunch time!咁當初何以要遞lunch menu過我地?至搞笑既係我地同一餐\飯入面第二次落單提及時,佢\又話原來lunch menu d野嗌得!)。員工答案前後矛盾,攪到我地叫唔倒自己想食既野。當時我地並無大吵大嚷,只是不明白d員工點可以完全零招呼,\"多謝幫襯\"、\"唔好意思\"呢d禮貌字詞固然免問,連基本笑容都冇!講野又細聲表達能力又差,個個好似第一秒鐘返工咁,心神恍惚,成日企響度好似等收工咁!!今次並非有心刁難,卻落得如此下場。呢間野的服務實在令人失望,粉飾得在靚、咖啡在好喝亦是無用!!…Read More
