今晚同幾位朋友一齊食晚餐,見到唔夠2成檯有客,但係唔知點解OpenRice就book唔到。我哋每一個人叫咗一碟嘢,所有嘢食都係兩個字嚟形容:辣、鹹。無論我哋嗌咗冬陰功意粉、pad thai、魷魚、炸雞、豬頸肉,每一樣都非常之鹹。食完之後全部都要不斷飲水。食物細份,我哋七個人食完之後都唔夠飽。飲品方面,有嗌到泰式檸檬茶、西瓜同埋芒果沙冰,全部一般發揮。空間夠大、舒服,我哋都坐耐咗去傾偈,但係嘢食真係唔OK。…查看更多

一直好懷念以前源記嘅味道,所以至試業以來已經去過三次,水準雖然有一直慢慢改進,但係連最王牌嘅桑寄生蛋茶,都仲未返到去以前老字號嘅水平。第一次去嘅時候桑寄生茶底非常之淡,以為佢溝咗開水。第二次去彈有少少進步,都有濃咗少少。第三次去查底明顯聾咗,但係蓮子嘅甜味有啲太甜。亦都有食到雞蛋糕,但係蛋糕冇以前一般鬆軟有啲失望。芝麻糊唔好食,建議大家都係食返佢嘅拿手菜。希望下一次再去會改進啦!…查看更多

Paying a visit to one of the aesthetic cafes in Hong Kong! We’ve walked and drove past Trois Cafe in Wanchai multiple times before we actually had a chance to visit in person.The minimalistic exterior and interior design takes the modern complementary color scheme to the next level - juxtaposing the coral pinks with the pastel blue-greens. Everywhere you look are filled with geometrical designs - square lights, rounded cut-outs, circular tables etc. According to an article, the interior designer Nelson Chow got inspired by Hong Kong’s very own iconic public house estates and its playgrounds! I can totally see why this is a super Instagrammable cafe shop. When it comes to food, they serve Fusion International cuisine, ranging from Japanese Tonkatsu, to Salads, to Pastas to Pancakes. 
1️⃣ We gave the Fusion Fried Chicken and Japanese Tonkatsu set a go, along with their signature TROIS’ Petite Bao. The sets come with a Tieguanyin (Chinese semi-fermented Oolong Tea) infused soft-boiled egg with cold ramen, a portion Japanese rice, a mushroom soup and house salad. We actually liked the tea-infused egg and ramen the most! It’s refreshing and giving the meal a good memorable point. The fried items were done well, but nothing out of the world that blown us away. Given the set priced at $108, we think it’s a good portion. 2️⃣ We were expecting highly of the Petite Bao, given it’s their house signature and also the price tag (It’s $77!). We were disappointed when only 1 tiny “bao” really showed up (I don’t know why other people got 4 dumplings)… it was sitting in a mushroom-based cream sauce (which is the same base as their mushroom soup). But the skin was thick (I would ask for a refund if this shows up in any Dimsum place) and the meat inside was not hot at all, and there was no juicy crab meat that we’re expecting from a typical Xiaolongbao.
3️⃣ I was really hoping their dessert can save the day. We’re sad that the Seasonal Hokkaido Taro Roll wasn’t available so we gave the Strawberry one a try. The role itself is really soft, and the creamy in the middle smooth. For me, it was still more on the sweet side. 

4️⃣ I also picked the cold “Maya’s Special” - a Matcha Latte with strawberry filling at the bottom for a try. It’s certainly my first time trying something like this. Overall, the latte was more on the milky side, not much of the matcha flavor I was hoping for, it went alright with the aromatic strawberry puree at the bottom. I don’t think it’s not a divine combination, but interesting to give it a try.
So if you’re someone who enjoys having an aesthetic experience while eating or you want to really immerse in a totally different space for once and a while, visit TROIS Cafe and see if it helps quench your travel bug by teleporting you to exotic cafe in the middle of nowhere. ...🧾TD;DLFood Rating: 3/5 ⭐️Price Point: 3/5 ⭐️Environment & Service: 4/5 ⭐️Would Revisit? 😬.📍TROIS Cafe

A well-balanced, harmonizing Omakase experience

After 2.5 months of booking and waiting, we finally can try out Sushi Wadatsumi first outpost in Hong Kong, which was also granted the Michelin gong, awarded one star for 4 consecutive years.The set we picked features 3 appetizers + 12 sushi + 1 sushi roll + miso soup and a dessert. We’re served by Sushi Chef Lo today. Pre-meal: We started out with some crab meat steamed egg, flavorful and warms us up. Appetizer: 1️⃣ We got served some smoked skipjack tuna, as you can see the meat is very fresh and even slightly-transparent, jelly like. The spring onion on top did bring out the flavor.
2️⃣ Squid with roe with perilla flowers on top - we’re all blown away by how flavorful the flowers are and they compliment the squid and roe. Squid was not chewy at all, very tender but not that sweet.3️⃣ Hokkaido eel fried with a super crunchy skin - The meat itself is so fatty and the ginger on the side helps cleanse your palette while keeping the dish balanced.Sushi 1️⃣ The Japanese parrotfish sushi was very light and doesn’t leave a big impression to me 2️⃣ Red snapper sushi was fattier than the parrotfish despite giving off similar flavors, and very fresh3️⃣ Sawara / Japanese Spanish mackerel was smoked with straw grass, hence it gives off a slight wheaty flavor at the very end, mixing with the meaty flavours4️⃣ Amaebi sushi was also very fatty and sweet, and the meat was not old5️⃣ The first of the two Tuna sushi is from Wakayama, with the leaner cut it taste more of the fish meat and sourness that usually comes with tuna6️⃣ Second of the Tuna sushi is from Hokkaido, with the middle part of the fish, it is much fattier and soft. But I have to say this is not the best Toro I’ve ever had.7️⃣ Japanese Jack Mackerel was well-balanced with the spring onions, giving off a refreshing twist. 8️⃣ Interesting tasting of the Kohada sushi, marinated with vinegar and paired with perilla leaves. The additional strength and flavor was certainly memorable. 
9️⃣Our first time trying Hotate sushi where the scallop meat is half-cooked with the soy sauce marination, giving off a perfect texture between the raw chewiness and the drier, harder texture.🔟 Hokkaido sea urchin was not as sweet as I thought, but certainly fresh and brings me a mouthful of flavors straight from the ocean. And, the seaweed was extra crunchy!1️⃣ Next we got to try Hokkigai sushi was fresh and crispy! It was really interesting that Chef Lo has to smack the Hokkigai with his fingers right before serving to tighten up the muscles, hence creating a more condensed texture. 2️⃣ Last, we closed with a fatty Anago / eel sushi. The highlight was definitely when Chef added on the citrus skin, which gives an aromatic flavor to the whole sushi and closes on a high note!Tuna Sushi Roll: Topped with sesame, it tasted flavorful and well-balanced. Miso Soup:Chef said that the soup was mixed with 4 different type of Miso, along with kelp added in to create a rich soup that gives off a sweeter taste rather than salty. Very pleasant indeed!
Dessert1️⃣ Chef served us 2 pieces of Tamago, but the texture was premixed with shrimps and somehow it tastes a bit sweet like pudding! It is definitely a special treat from Wadatsumi that I’ve never tried anywhere else.2️⃣ Finally, we really ended the meal with a Matcha Ice-cream. Not super flavorful but also nothing to complain about!Overall: All the dishes and sushi were all in good quality and fresh. Nothing stood out like a sour thumb, but at the same time, nothing blew our mind like never before! We must say that the service level was very nice, not too pushy nor was it too cold. 其實係我第二次去羲和雅苑食飯,上一次食晚飯冇咩特別問題只係覺得嘢食偏油,但今次同同事三檯一齊去食午餐就出事啦。喺3檯入邊,我哋其中一檯5/6同事食完之後有屙嘔嘅症狀。🤮話說琴日去食嘅時候,一坐低我哋就已經發現啲碗碗碟碟好唔乾淨。有好多碗同埋碟都癡住咗一啲食物殘渣,或者好明顯有油漬。我哋都已經有同部長反映,問佢哋幫我哋換過啲碗碟。我哋用熱水再洗多一次。食午餐嘅時候,我哋叫咗扁皮鴨、鮑魚雞粒炒飯、金磚豆腐、娃娃菜、麻辣牛仔骨、蜜糖炸雞翼、同埋最後佢哋送咗甜品楊枝甘露俾我哋食。其實食嘅時候,都唔覺得有咩特別嘅意味但覺得所有嘢都非常之油膩,食咗少少都已經覺得好滯。大家食完晏,過咗一兩個鐘之後,就已經有兩位同事講話佢哋個肚唔舒服,要去廁所解決。我到傍晚時分開始覺得個肚諗住忍住,去到夜晚更加開始發冷,返到屋企就開始用又屙又嘔。捱到之後個朝早先可以爬去睇醫生,去到第二日都係只可以食流質食物同餅乾,繼續有我我問題。本來約朋友聚會都冇得去,超級掃興。🤕如果第時想來呢度食飯,強烈建議睇一睇啲碗碟乾唔乾淨同埋會唔會八寶盒裏面嘅生嘢有問題。絕對冇下次!👎🏼…查看更多

食物及體驗高質,但時間控制衰收尾

今日適逢母親節,同屋企人一家去「蟹膳」共進晚餐。當我一星期前book位嘅時候,侍應冇同我講過有關於每張檯限制嘅用餐時間。而今日入座嘅時候,亦冇侍應同我哋再次提出有關於用餐時間。我哋本來都食得好盡興,喺set menu 嘅一道菜同一道菜之間,都有空閒時間去傾偈,因為要等下一道菜上菜。點知,去到食蟹肉火鍋嘅時候,突然間就感覺到佢哋越來越急嘅感覺。我哋都盡應佢哋嘅要求同步開始煮火鍋同埋煮蟹粥。但由於煮蟹粥需要最少20分鐘,當佢哋煮完碗粥嘅時候,已經距離所謂嘅「用餐時間」得返最後15分鐘!因此當上甜品嘅時候,就已經有侍應/主管每2分鐘過嚟同我哋講要食快啲。我哋都已經盡量將雪糕同埋薑茶倒落個肚,但始終非常之熱真係好辛苦。但仲要有侍應企喺我哋張枱側邊望住我哋飲同食。所以我哋反問,點解隔離張枱有兩位顧客俾我哋早15分鐘食完,而且佢哋嘅食物都已經打包好,仲要坐喺度不斷同啲侍應同經理傾偈,點解唔可以請佢哋先行離開呢?餐廳嘅答案竟然係因為嗰張卡位係坐唔到四個人嘅,但明明餐廳內嘅其他卡位就係四人枱!大細超都唔使咁嚴重呀?😤😤😤我明白餐廳想喺大時大節返多幾轉枱,但餐廳由頭到尾都冇同我哋講講過所謂嘅用餐時間係幾耐!而成個set menu 嘅烹調同上菜時間都係由廚房去決定,我哋從來都冇插手或拖延。而我哋亦相信各位顧客都俾咗唔少嘅錢去享受呢一個晚餐體驗,無一位顧客會想俾人三催四請。所以我哋對於今次嘅餐飲體驗真係感到非常之失望。澄清番先,今次嘅食物同埋飲食體驗其實係良好,蟹係好新鮮,同埋烹調手法都唔錯。另外我哋嘅侍應哥哥亦非常之有禮貌同埋好樂於解答我哋嘅問題。只不過係比最後尾嘅嗰一段體驗影響咗我哋對呢間餐廳嘅印象。…查看更多

本來想開開心心買新開餅店嘅蛋糕幫朋友生日,我哋按照早一晚店舖員工提點,喺12點前排隊購買。一開始見到display嘅檸檬茶蛋糕有溶溶哋,所以問有無新嘅蛋糕。但佢地話:「無啊!」但因爲該蛋糕味道較適合,所以最後決定照要。同時我哋想寫生日牌俾朋友,但原來個牌要等15 分鐘以上(佢哋話10分鐘)因為廚師要即時寫同埋要雪下個牌。問職員可以唔可以遲啲返來拿,換來一句話:「唔可以,雪櫃爆晒。」好啦,最後企左十幾分鐘,終於拿到蛋糕。重點係個生日牌係同蛋糕分開!要自己組裝!送蛋糕之前我哋想拿出來放返個生日牌落去。點知一打開⋯蛋糕 完 全 倒 塌。我哋嘗試用兩把刀輕輕力反個蛋糕返過來,但係前面嘅糖霜已經完全粉碎,重要溶咗啲顏色落個盒。我哋當場心碎。$580嘅蛋糕,但如此脆弱,重要送唔到俾人!唉,只好吸取教訓,下次先考慮清楚買唔買得個睇字嘅蛋糕。…查看更多

第一次嘗試出名嘅「喜茶」翻版 - 東喜茶!之前其他地方實在要排隊排太耐,無機會試。雖然知道最出名嘅係奶蓋茶同水果茶,反而俾夏日限定嘅「芝士火火」深深吸引!(其實因為張相太靚)可能因為中環新開張,中午時段都只需要排10分鐘!店鋪以灰色石作主調,環境乾淨俐落,唔似茶店!芝士味的確好濃,也很多泡泡,配合清新嘅火龍果沙冰又幾配搭!由於火龍果本身無乜味,芝士會喺主角。適合鍾意「淡口味」嘅朋友。唯一美中不足就係價錢偏貴,$42一杯,有點肉赤!…查看更多

難得「睇得又食得」

最近喺IG上見到呢間店嘅相,非常吸引。本身抱著試一試嘅心態,因為香港好多餐廳都「有樣睇」但未必好食。食物有點似台灣風fushion菜,除了menu上的食物,還有每天的special menu。賣相當然吸引眼球,絕對適合「相機食先」。食物配搭清新用心,例如蕃茄沙律真係用咗三、四種不同口感同甜度嘅蕃茄混合而成。燴牛肉也非常嫩口。最別出心裁為special menu的芽菜義大利青醬貓耳粉,每一個粉餅上都分別印上了餐廳的名字!是日甜品係梨子撻,非常清新!綠茶雪糕也濃郁滑溜!期待下一次在來試試出名嘅白兔糖布丁!…查看更多

為咗士多啤梨西瓜蛋糕遠渡而來~

早前見到有推介關於香港終於有喺澳洲Newtown好出名嘅士多啤梨西瓜蛋糕,所以決定來試食一次。下午一點幾來到,看到門外黑板寫住「試業中」,剛好餐廳角落有一張枱,唔洗等就可以入座。首先叫咗All Day Breakfast來試,第一眼覺得假如食物種類可以再豐富一啲就更好,因為沙律都幾大份,如果其他肉類、蕃茄、蘑菇可以更大就更滿足。同埋麵包及茄汁豆可以更熱就會更可口。值得一讚喺黑松露炒蛋,煮得好滑好香口!友人叫咗杯Moccacino,味道濃烈,唔算太甜,亦有拉花。朋友滿意。最後就是重頭戲 Signature-Tastic 蛋糕,有大、小兩個size之分,大為$68,小為$58,叫咗大兩分食。第一眼外觀同澳洲版本80%相似,澳洲版有更多層,但係反而香港版面頭嘅水果仲大粒啲!第一層有士多啤梨、提子、開心果同玫瑰花瓣,絕對美觀同有落足料。 底下幾層為玫瑰花cream同西瓜肉。食落覺得同澳洲嘅味道都接近有9成相似,水果同玫瑰嘅甜味都好出。唯一美中不足就是嫌蛋糕嗰兩層不夠厚身同鬆軟,完全食唔出蛋糕嘅質感!整體來說店鋪環境舒適,食物質素同價錢可以接受。希望正式開業後會帶來更多嘅食物選擇。下一次再次光臨嘗試新嘅食品!:)…查看更多
