It’s Restaurant Week again and I made the right choice this round. I made the reservation at Duck and Waffle because it is the first time it participated in the event. We chose the Grilled 18hour Pork Belly and Charred Broccoli as the starters. The pork belly was juicy. The broccoli coming with poached egg transformed simple yet good quality ingredients into a delicious dish. The signature Duck and Waffle was fantastic with crispy skin of the duck leg yet juicy duck meat, matching so well with maple syrup, waffle and duck egg. The lamb chops were cooked at good timing with the mint yoghurt sauce and rosemary. The two desserts came with a pretty presentation. Black Sesame Sticky Toffee Pudding was full of sesame aroma and the honey ice cream was a perfect match for the sesame custard. ‘Sticky Rice and Mango’ Waffle added a Thai touch and refreshing note. The Foie Gras Creme Brulee was a wonderful surprise. The Foie Gras custard was creamy and tasty serving with the bread and puffed pork skin brioche, in particular the hardened layer of caramelized sugar. 紅磡區一向有很多臥虎藏龍的實力餐廳,火鍋店競爭尤其激烈,是日清明節假期前夕,我們訂了晚上六點試試這間開業不足一年的火鍋店。此店座位不多,但佈置甚具特色,最吸引的當然是牛肉不同部位作主打,對極了我嗜牛如命的口味。餐枱上放了一張紙介紹牛肉各部位灼多少分鐘最美味,我覺得此舉非常細心,我最怕牛肉煮得太熟,抵讚。點菜後先有西瓜,之後主角牛肉出場,每一片都切得厚薄適中,剛好是一口份量,點了四款牛不同部位:胸口膀、封門柳、吊龍伴、匙柄。我最喜歡匙柄的香滑,同時封門柳的牛味濃郁,胸口磅質地爽脆而且有牛油香,有驚喜!牛肉餃肉汁豐富而且牛味濃郁,配上特製醬汁非常好吃。湯底方面我比較貪心,選了鴛鴦沙嗲牛骨清湯底,沙嗲湯底很出色,所以點了烏冬,美味又邪惡。清湯優點是最能夠吃到牛肉的原汁原味,沙嗲湯底最適合灼野菌,簡直是絕配。下次一定會再來試試其他部位如牛駝峰等,值得一提的是落單的平板電腦有詳細介紹每一個牛肉位置及特點,選擇之多真要多來一兩次才能試完所有部位呢!真心推介給喜歡吃牛肉的朋友。…Read More

I LOVE SOUP CURRY

This is the second time I came here for soup curry which is one of the signature cuisines in Sapporo.  The standard is as good as before.  I chose level 5 for the spicy degree.  I would suggest first time diners to try level 2 or 3 to start with.  I go for Marathon Chicken and tomato soup curry.  The chicken is  good to go with curry although it is a bit overcooked for me.  Although the tomato soup curry is quite spicy, the tomato flavor in the soup is still strong.  I tried the prawn curry soup before and it is also good for people who loves seafood flavoured soup.  Vegetables are quite fresh.  The quality and price for sure cannot beat that in Sapporo but remember it is in Hong Kong.  I will come again whenever I miss soup curry but cannot find the time to travel to Japan.   …Read More

Came here for Restaurant Week Winners menu promotion on Easter Sunday.  I appreciate their offer of half pint complimentary beer. The lunch menu was so attractive.  We added HK$30 for the paella with squid, pork, prawns, and mussels.  It was so good and tasty with fresh ingredients.  No regret for adding money for that.  The starters were also impressive: Manchego Cheese with Jamon Serrano, and Spanish style potato salad with smoked salmon.  Both the presentation and taste were great.  The other main course we chose was Mini Chorizo & Manchego Burgers.  It came with very crispy potato bravas.  The burgers are mini size but I would say it is just the right portion with the potato bravas.  For dessert, I can never say no to Churros and they had it served with nutella which is both evil and irresistible.  Rice pudding croquetas is not too sweet but it is a bit oily for me.  Still overall the meal is a very good value, and it really made my day for this lovely Sunday.  A lovely place for Spanish cuisines!…Read More

I love to explore unique streets and buildings in Central and Sheung Wan. Finding a nice cafe to sit down during a break is like having water in a desert. To me, this cafe is just like that. It's location is not easy to find but you will find it worth your time and effort in the end. Single origin coffee is sold at such a reasonable price with a choice of beans (some are more expensive than others). The egg benedict and French toast are the best I had in town. Very nicely cooked with beautiful presentation. Flat white strikes a perfect balance between milk, foam and coffee, at the just right level.
