Surprise gift from my dear friend buying me two types of cream cones and two types of custard tarts. I was definitely sweetened before my first bite.

She got me one matcha and one pistachio cream cones. I had the matcha first. Puff pastry cone was incredibly flakey that unavoidable to be a messy eater. Matcha cream was silky smooth. Neither overly sweet nor overpowering matcha that became bitter. Matcha cream was generously piped until the bottom tip. Every bite was an explosion of matcha cream until your last bite. Pistachio ones' edges were coated with chocolate with pistachio nibbles sticking around. The edge part was genuinely more on a chocolate nutty side as the chocolate kind of overpowering the pistachio cream flavour. After eating the chocolate edge part, a light hint of pistachio flavour came through. Cream wasn't as smooth as matcha's but still indulgent. Not bad.

Custard tarts' appearance definitely not as attempting as many out there. The original pastel dan nata crust was even more flakey than the cone ones. No matter how much you tried to be neat, it would end up falling over your countertop. No doubt a master on the pastry. Custard was just set. Neither too egg nor overly sweet. Just a right balance. Meanwhile, the coffee one was a bit too sweet to me. Custard was coffee infused flavour but bottom was covered with a layer of melted chocolate. It was way too sweet that I need a big sip of water after having the whole. Coffee flavour wasn't as strong while chocolate did help bringing out the espresso/mocha flavour.

All in all, well master the pastry. I won't purposely go for the bake goods but will get few when passing by.
