Amazing Kitchen .... was it amazing? Well, it was definitely cheap. But they also offer two different menus.

They have an English menu that is a la carte. It offers both Western and Chinese food. It's in one big a la carte menu with pretty photos. And then they have sets that are only in Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. These sets are dinner sets that include a bowl of soup, rice and a drink along with a  Chinese main dish.

Soup has two offerings:  Western or Chinese. That's what they said to us when boyfriend asked what the daily soup was.

Boyfriend ordered the Western soup which was minestrone. It was fine and tasted more like tomato soup with vegetables thrown in.

I had the Chinese soup which was basically a carrot and corn soup. It was very basic and fairly ok.

I had an ice lemon tea. Normally, I don't talk about the ice tea unless it's really good. But this was ... well ... horrible. It was so bitter from the tea and I suspect they just used Chinese black tea to make it. I even saw there were tea leaves at the bottom of my glass.

At least the food fared better.

Mixed Seafood Pot ($68). This was really large portions for what we paid for. The seafood was mainly squid and shrimp. All seemed fresh in texture. There was also vermicelli and lots of vegetables. Veggies for me!

Fish fillet with Corn ($58). This was even better. The fish fillet was fried to a nice crispiness with the coating not thick at all. The meat inside was still moist. The corn sauce was not cloyingly sweet and not too thick like some places. A generous portion as well.

The food fare better than the soup and drinks  but as it came as a set,  what is there to complain about?  However, service was not  that great. I guess it was typical of most Chinese restaurants so I really shouldn't complain, right? But they gave us the wrong dish as they took it down incorrectly. The staff asked us it's wrong, will you still accept it? When we said no, they weren't really happy about it. But it was a dish that every item on that plate boyfriend hated an wouldn't touch. How could I finish all of it on my own? Usually at moments like this, we would just say ok and eat it. But boyfriend said he wouldn't touch it. So, we sent it back with the staff showing that he wasn't happy about it at all.

Oh well .. other than that, the food was pretty good. May be back if lack of any where to eat.
