It was a memorable dining experience spending my evening at Thalassic Thai Restaurant. Staff was sweet to give us extra table to place our belongings and of course allowing us to order more food to be placed out. Restaurant was dim but enough brightness to allow reading the menu. It was a memorable dining experience spending my evening at Thalassic Thai Restaurant. Staff was sweet to give us extra table to place our belongings and of course allowing us to order more food to be placed out.

Restaurant was dim but enough brightness to allow reading the menu. Menu served variety options that we ended up too lazy to read through and ordered their set of 4. Thai Satay and Spicy Green Papaya Salad as appetisers, Tom Yum Soup with Prawn as soup choice and Sautéed mixed vegetables with Porkloin, Yellow Curry with pork neck, Stir Fry Spicy Minced Pork with Basil and Fried Cabbage Sprout with Salted Fish in Belachan sauce. Two bowls of rice and four pieces of garlic bread were also included. Additionally, two coconut were requested as drinks.

Tom Yum Soup was serving on a simple stove that took awhile to boil up. Soup was flavourful. Spiciness and tanginess balanced well. Every sip could be tasted with lemongrass. Highly appreciated using loads of oyster mushrooms which gave.a hint of umami flavour. Prawns were cut in half with meat easily teared out. Even it was in soup, it didn't become rubbery. Absorbed the soup nicely. It was quite in a big portion that 4 persons could refill once.

Spicy papaya salad was a refreshing dish. I personally had a high tolerance on spiciness which I love this amount of spice but two of my friends could stand the spiciness that kept coughing and choking. It was loaded with cashews and green beans which gave so much crunchiness. Shredded papaya were thinly sliced and coated the fish sauce well. It was a very savoury salad. Not bad.

Thai satay consisted of pork, chicken and beef. Sadly all three skewers were overcooked. They were incredibly dry and tough. We could barely eat. Even the satay sauce was very watery and only tasted peanut.

Yellow curry with pork neck was on a runny side. It was loaded with different vegetables which I love. Vegetables were cooked just right which kept its crunch. Pork neck was soft. I personally didn't like pork neck much which I did think beef brisket possibly will be more suitable with curry. It was perfect to dip with bread. Garlic bread was toasted perfectly. Not much garlic spread but buttery. Even it was toasted, the crumb could still absorb the curry well.

Stir fry spicy minced pork with Basil was in a big portion. It wasn't oily but moist. Meat juice was remain and mixed well with the green beans. Thai basil was stir fried together which gave the whole dish an extra flavour. It was perfect to eat with rice plus mild hotness that my friends could tolerate it.

Sautéed mix vegetables with pork loin was on a salty side. Pork loin was tough that hardly chew or bite it. Vegetables were kept crunchy and tasted fresh. Overall was an oily dish that when it nearly finished up, the vegetables were soaked in oil.

Fried Cabbage Sprout with Salted Fish in Belachan sauce was another salty dish which because Belachan was salty on its own. Vegetables were again oily that all coated with thick layer of oil and when it was nearly finished, vegetables were swimming around the oil. These two dishes were better to eat with white rice so that the sweetness from rice could balance the greasiness and saltiness.

Coconut was juicy and sweet but a bit old that meat could hardly eaten. Jelly desserts were served after the main. One was normal jelly and the other was something related to coconut but in light brown colour. Tasted too stiff and jelly which believing using too much gelatine. Not too sweet.

One staff was incredibly efficient and observant who kept refilling water, taking away the cleared dishes and helping other staff. Definitely well done to both the attitude and teamwork spirit.

Overall, restaurant served enormous portion in good deal. Not bad.
