The last time I was here was about two years ago on a hot summer night. I guess it is about time to try this place again. Booked a table for 4 @ 7pm and we arrived at 7:05pm. The place was fully packed already and I approached the staff notifying him of our booking. "You are late Mister! You dare to be late !? Brave indeed!" said the staff; and I replied , "I am sorry, we got lost, we rushed up as fast as we can already." Apparently our table was already taken over by someone because we were 5 mins late but the staff nonetheless pointed us to the only remaining table for 4 on the side. As I walked past the staff, he said to me, "Don't be late next time, be on time!" I would not considered them as rude but rather being sarcastically friendly I guess. Once you try to get them to talk (through ordering and chit chatting), they are actually very friendly and helpful. To my understanding, this place is run by members from the same family but each one of them has their own style and unique appearances. One with punk hair, one with long hair and one with Urban Afro style. An interesting scene indeed.
We were approached by different brands of "beer girl" but instead of trying the usual Carlsberg or Tsing Tao beer, we opted for a German one named Erdinger and shared the beer using the special "Fighter Bowl." Although there were only 4 of us, we ordered alot! Most of the dishes are famous dishes. It seems there are so many so-called famous dishes that there are still a few we did not order. (Sorry for those who cannot read Chinese, I will try my best to find the English translation for the dishes below, forgot to take a picture of the menu)
(1) 豆豉炒蟶子 (Bamboo Clams / Razor Clams) For some reason, there seemed to be more shells than the actual meat inside. Maybe it was my incorrect perceptions due to the dark sauce. Overall, it was a nice dish but I think the sauce was abit too rich that it overtook the taste of the fresh clams.
(2) 黃金蝦 This dish is known for its high colestro content but eating it once in a while is fine! I like the way how they prepared it because unlike many places which claim to be famous with this dish, extremely thick batter are used to fried the shrimps and they are usually so salty. The way they prepared it here seems different, a very thin layer of batter and not too salty while maintaining a very rich taste of salt egg yolk. Two thumbs up !
(3) 風沙雞 My perception of a good 風沙雞 is to have a very crispy skin and ALOT of fried garlic. However, I am not a big fan of those fried garlic so I usually would shove those aside. The 風沙雞 we ordered did not come with tons of fried garlic as I would have expected, instead there were just little sprinkled over the top. Although the skin was not particular crispy, the fact that it came with little fried garlic made me really happy.
(4) 墨汁墨魚丸意粉 Another famous dish from this place; however, I wanted to know why. Is it suppose to taste like that? I mean is it suppose to have ... ... ... ... ... ---->

梅菜豆付浸菜心,一般啦
之前己經食過呢度幾次,由於係比較粵式0既餐廳,加上有唔少遊客都會黎呢度食,所以再度出擊。
一如以往,8點幾黎到依然滿左9成,好彩咁啱有張枱,如果唔係都唔知要等到幾時。
是日參與晚飯共有4人,叫左1湯3餸1飯,菜式如下 :
飯後每人贈送一碗冰凍薑汁涼粉
食飯之餘仲叫左1枝青島啤,隨啤附上每人1個戰鬥碗,要劈酒 + 猜枚相信分外有FEEL
另外更攪笑0既係,食到一半突然播放DISCO 音樂... WELL,呢度氣氛真係夠晒好,夠晒熱鬧,不過如果播埋呢D音樂,難道老細想我地喺呢度開P,食飯跳舞夾劈油猜枚?

媽比我先到, 竟叫了 梅菜蒸鯇魚
好似東寶唔係呢味最突出...
冇計, 我o黎到坐下來, 舊魚已同步送上了!
menu 雖有日文, 但當晚唔見有日本人呢...
睇兩睇, 另外都係叫個魚湯花膠白菜仔, 及個炒蜆,
簡單的, 便算了.
梅菜蒸鯇魚真係一般, 魚唔係勁新鮮的;
可以更好.
魚湯花膠白菜仔個湯底係白雪雪的;
喝一口, 好鮮味; 有d 蒜頭及粉絲的, 齋食或送飯都一流.
菜爽, 係好正呢.
真係有花膠架, 所以個湯好鬼好飲.
個炒蜆雖成九十幾蚊, 但係都不是細蜆, 都有十幾隻, 隻隻都成張八達通咁大,
唔係講笑!
個唔生性的相機sd 咭竟然今日回到家shot 左, 所以冇相為証添....
汁係濃的; 小辣的, 加上有豉椒; 夠惹味.
都係送飯好, 齋食略嫌太咸了;
蜆d 肉係好新鮮的; 蜆內的帶子仔都有成個一毫子咁大的size....
唔計媽叫的蒸鯇魚腩, 真的不錯;

另外, 我們不是坐在大堂的; 而是坐了在中間的舖位旁的一個凹位.
個凹位唔得通爽, 熱!
但更大的問題係, 坐得好近一些雜物, 有小強
呢個point 要改善, 否則唔止我, d 日本人咁怕污糟, 係一定唔會o黎的!

真係數唔出有幾多N年無去東寶食, 以一間係市政大樓的熟食來講, 佢既收費係貴, 我地亦唔係食左D咩貴價食物, 打電話預留芝士餅時明明話有藍莓, 檸檬, 芒果, 仲話每樣味留1/4比我, 點知出現係只得檸檬和芒果, 係有失望感既, 但芝士餅總好過佢送既另一款湯水薑汁涼粉好食, 我地一嗅完D涼粉, 真係有D覺得似....跌打的薄荷膏味.....呢D全屬個人口感, 但在坐有半數以上都唔想食。

中式牛仔骨- 無乜特別, 有幾舊仲好 "銀", 咬唔開好似香口膠咁 ($65)
特式泰國奶油蝦配4 個細細的豬仔硬包 - 勁好味, 蝦好大隻好鮮甜, d 汁唔會好辣又香口啱晒honey.....d 包 "點" 汁食好正, 用黎送白餸都gd (叫咗半斤, 每兩$16)
避風糖炒蟹 - 我地order 小辣, 點知佢黎咗碟連我食開麻辣的人都覺得有點頂唔順, 結果honey 食咗一隻鉗同埋半隻腳就無食, 全碟蟹幾乎係我一個食晒
味道: d 辣椒好味, 不過隻蟹麻麻地, 唔算新鮮, 肉又唔多, 膏就ok 夠, 或者因為係膏蟹啦....同埋炒得都唔入味 ($15一兩, 有d 貴)
連埋兩碗白飯+ 兩支汽水
埋單$520, 勁唔抵食, 呢個價錢可以去d 正宗海鮮店食d 新鮮游水海鮮
大排檔仲要收5$ service charge, 勁無奈....

價錢方面 : 真的偏貴 , 以市政大廈o既環境 加上 食物o既味道不是太出色, 絕對唔值.
打開餐牌 , 好多都起碼 $78 以上. (比酒樓還貴)

1) 馳名風沙雞 : $110
一貫酒樓o既炸子雞, 不過酒樓好食d.
真係無雞味, 只係層雞皮較為好味.

Oh, Totally Disappointed! 佢一上菜, 我就 o 咀.

$98 入面 , 著左 $78 係sell gimmick~~
完全無味道. 我d friend 都話點解連鹽都唔落粒~
我第一啖食..打從心底都係依個問題.
食完 , 成個口 / 碗 / 筷都全係黑色.

不過雖然話細碟 , 不過實在無味無道 , 所以最後都係你推我讓下先完成依碟野.

hm... 個人覺得一般. 又唔可以話差
本身都鍾意薑既食物.. 例如: 番薯糖水要多薑.
不過依個麻麻地.

一行十一人在七時半前到達,坐在貨物升降機對出的位置,算是自成一角。是晚搞手一早已預訂了五款菜色,另再多點八款菜色,如下︰

開餐前先來兩支麥啤「ERDINGER」,當然要用冰凍的戰鬥碗來品嚐,苦澀味不重,對不多嚐啤酒的我來說實在是不錯。一籃「炸芝士青瓜雲吞」先上桌,厚厚的雲吞皮,內裡包著已被炸溶的芝士,另加一顆小小的青瓜,在濃郁中點綴一下,一啖雲吞一啖啤酒,相當匹配。
「豉椒炒聖子」的辣味有點重,聖子嫩小而鮮甜,唯獨未夠乾身,否則評價會更好。再來一味辣的菜色,就是「牛肋骨包生菜」,材料切得十分細碎,老實說,要分辨是那種材料確是有點困難,味道方面沒啥特別,辣味有點過了頭,如不用生菜包著食,用白飯來送會更合適。
聽說「狗仔鴨」的由來,是因為此菜色的烹調方法,正是用炆香肉的方法改良而成,我未有食過香肉,亦沒有打算品嚐,所以未知是否屬實。味道濃郁,汁濃至漿口,鴨的味道已被帶南乳味的醬汁蓋淹,感覺是「吃名多於吃味」的一道菜。
「椒絲腐乳炒通菜」炒得乾淨利落,仍帶翠綠,唯獨味道淡了一點。另一道蔬菜類「九層塔炒齋」,九層塔、松子、百合、四季豆等等,用一個脆底盛著以上材料,令口感爽脆合一。
膽固醇超高的「黃金蝦」是自己所愛的食物之一,未知這裡的水準如何。中蝦夠新鮮,咸蛋黃乾身得來薄薄地包著全隻蝦,可以說是集咸香鮮於一身。其實水準已十分不錯,但自己仍然覺得已結業的「順德魚王」做得出色一點。
跟著來的仍然是海鮮類別的「墨汁墨魚丸」,黑漆漆的墨汁完全蓋著半口大小的墨魚丸,墨魚夠彈牙,味道不太濃,平心而論,又是一道「吃名多於吃味」的菜色。「芥辣魷魚絲」伴著一碗炸米粉前來,黏一點在魷魚上,可為口感上帶點香脆,芥辣的刺鼻度雖不太強,但已足夠令你感動流淚,是一道過口癮的菜色。
「鴨汁荷葉飯」端上桌時己感到份量十足,打開頂層荷葉時,馬上看見與鴨汁撈得均勻的飯,飯粒軟而不黏,鴨汁濃郁夠稠,帶淡淡的荷葉香,與往常吃過的荷葉飯感覺不同,只是配料不多,不是每碗飯也可分配到。
主角「風沙雞」終於登場,雞比想像中大隻,皮薄而脆,肉厚而嫩,但雞味不重,只好點些伴來的南乳醬汁來提升味覺感應。此菜雖未至於十分出色,但作為結尾前的高潮,仍然是卓卓有餘。
今晚的「美點雙暉」分別是「炒麵」、「藍莓芝士蛋糕」及「薑水涼粉」。「炒麵」的麵身頗幼,炒得夠乾身,由於沒有加入甚麼材料,固味道偏淡,但其實帶著淡淡的麵香,反而令我喜歡。
一號甜品「藍莓芝士蛋糕」的水準也不賴,濃郁的藍莓頂層,餅心同時混合了點點藍莓在內,甜味適中,餅底結實得來又夠脆身,估不到在中式食店可以吃到一件有水準的西式芝士蛋糕。
二號甜品「薑水涼粉」賣相其實有點可怕,因為涼粉不是慣常的粒狀,而是細細的條狀,薑水的辣味與甜味的分配是七比三,十分恰當,令已十成飽肚的我也忍不住吃了一整碗。
整體的食物水準是合格有餘,或許是自己期望過高。服務亦快手有禮,環境是大路的街市大樓熟食市場格局,不喜歡的自然不會來。場中頗多外國人士,亦有一包數圍的團體人士。噪音指標已爆燈,與對家說話也有點困難,如想開懷暢飲十分適合,但如果只想輕談淺酌則不用考慮。

It's D-E-S-S-E-R-T, stupid!
詳情篇末再說。
難得召集師兄姐弟妹們美食之旅,當然是要名菜盡出吧。先來醒胃前
菜芥茉魷魚,wasabi汁緊緊包住每條魷魚,冰冰涼涼配合微辣的汁醬,
對我來說是一條接一條的好味之選。
吃過多次黃金蝦後,明白到菜式本身就是膽固醇之友,要吃就去盡點,
始終是東寶的算是上乘之算,外表最黃金,毫不吝嗇的咸蛋黃油滲入
肥美的中蝦內,加入炸得香脆的蝦殼,實在過癮。
狗仔鴨菜底是在扮狗仔肉的鴨仔乎?在精銳盡出的一餐來說不算是很
深刻的一味,但單論鴨的肉質又確不是一般製鴨方法可比。那濃濃的
醬汁確是夠特別的。
蟶子肥大肉厚,製法也已是不俗,可是味道卻也不突出,可能是不當
造吧?風沙雞一般,個人認為跑馬地嫦記的風沙雞(2008-04-08食評)
比較好一點。
魷魚春滑蛋連多士texture古怪,問題就在於那滑蛋滑得來還帶點"潺",
是那春的問題麼?試過就算了。其他的菜和荷葉飯,是大排檔應有的
水準,夠鑊氣足料。
是日highlight來了,其他菜式差不多吃完,點了的炸榴槤還未見蹤影,
於是便舉手想催催,怎料召來了老闆sammi,一問之下,便被其捉住
還未放下的手指教「炸榴槤嘛?係De-ssert!甜品!食晒先上啦,明
無?」當然老細實在沒有惡意,也為大家加添了難忘氣氛,或許這才
是大排檔吧?不過更重要的是,此De-ssert確是確是異常值得highlight
的一味,人造的綠色外表包著大大的榴槤內涵,經過有如炸天婦羅的
過程,吸收了炸油的味道和熱力後,使平日人人愛惡分明的榴槤也變
得平易近人,全檯不論平日吃或不吃榴槤的,也爭著吃過不停。沒有
膽量的那位,只能說句你走寶了。
嘈是嘈了點,迫也是迫了點,串也又串了一點,但東寶的食物和環境
所帶來的氣氛實在是其他地方不能比擬的。

我地一行四人冇訂位, 八點三開始等位, 九點半先有得入座...
坐底之後覺得唔係好對路, 間食店開恆個喇叭播D ROCK音樂...真係嘈到爆炸...
我覺得食飯食成咁...真係有D受罪...
想清清靜靜食餐飯....免!
餐牌有三句野, 真係好離譜, 內容大致如下:
1) 訂台時間下午二時至五時, 其他時間我地會好忙, 唔會有人聽你電話
2) 食物要等三十分鐘, 肚餓就點D小食食住先
3) 開瓶費30蚊, MUST CHARGE
WA! 咁寸爆既野都寫得出, 真係一D都唔客氣...
