一連數天到沙田出trip。多得老友賢哥的介紹,找到這間平靚正的隱世茶餐廳。
說是茶餐廳,但裝修和寬敞的坐位又一点都不茶餐廳feel。反之格局raw得來又帶有濃厚indie feel。
回說食物,一連數天食了不同的套餐。
肥牛矮瓜飯-認真大碟夾抵食。肥牛不靭,配上汁多鲜甜的矮瓜,大大提升我的食肉,連同枱的女同事也把整碟吃落肚子。唯一美中不足的是饭不夠熱。
牛腩麵-聞說這蔑最出名的是麵當然要一試。麵質夠爽口,湯的濃度恰當。牛腩稍嫌不夠腍。
京都骨飯-酸甜度適中,大啖大啖肉。但又是白飯不夠熱。
這店的套餐一般四十有找。喜歡value for money的朋友一定要來試試。
PS這店的天花部份放上黑膠唱片的封套,其中一張竟是我的致愛-raidas!不知店主會否割愛?

看完某雜誌的推介,得知Motorino曾獲纽约時報食評家推介選的最佳薄餅,立即飛車過來一試。
此店是一間裝修得極之有格調的pizza店,紅紅的磚牆,配上磁磚天花,raw得嚟又帶点grand。最煞食的可算是那用磗砌出來的pizza焗爐,跟連锁薄餅店的規格高出幾班。
此店的店員也值一讚,一進店內,店員即熱情的款待。店員向我推介這裏的meatball pizza,雖餐牌上没列上,但見是強烈推介,我想也不用想就order了。除pizza外,我也叫了一客不記得起名字的肉腸。
食評
說回主題。此店的食物水平。
頭盤的不知名腸賣相和味道相當不錯,但欠缺驚喜,食得出是靚腸的味道。主打的pizza卻真的教我?到彈。雜誌說此店pizza批邊焗得特別黑以帶出脆囗感是拿坡里的特點,實情是此批邊焗得過燶之餘又不特別鬆脆。最教我驚奇的是此批皮似足印度薄餅,這批基本上是把肉丸放上印度薄餅然後加以放入焗爐加点焦燻效果。
人人的囗味不一致。我個人還是比較鐘意脆批底的pizza多一点。

I am glad to see this place opened their branch store in causewaybay so that I don't have to go all the way to central to have good waffle.

I arrived a little bit early for movie in JP and so i decided to have a lunch before the movie. The restaurants in here mostly were empty (perhaps it was still too early) but this place was already half full of people.

We ordered a steak breakfast, spaghettic bolognaisse and a blue berry waffle. The spaghetti came first even though it was a baked dish. I have to say I somehow became a bit picky these days and even though the taste of it was ok, i gave it a rating of average only. The cheese was well melted with the meat sauce, but somehow I just don't feel the passion from the cook making the dish. 

 
The steak breakfast was really a big disappointment. Again, nothing wrong with the taste, but the steak just tasted like the one they served in Cafe de Coral. It simply downgrade the overall impression I have for this place. Moreover, talking about the poached egg, it looks nice and round. But to be picky, it wasn't a poached egg, it was merely a soft boil eggs without the eggshell. Egg yolk was runny, but it was only slightly warm. The fried potatoes tasted the best among this dish.

 
Lastly, it came my waffle. It was by far the best waffle I have ever had! Usually waffle only tasted good if you dip it inside the maple syrup. But this one, you can actually eat it without dipping it into the syrup as the waffle itself is already sweet enough. The only drawback for this dish was that they served it with some low quality ice cream.

很久沒上過times square十三樓,見到這間店子還未排長龍,决定進去一試。

我們雖兩囗子,但都叫了以下的餸菜:

豬頸肉青木瓜沙律
平時去泰國餐館一定會叫一客,見這越南菜館也有這道菜式,一於點來試試看。青木瓜出奇地乾而冇味,要落大量魚露才食得落囗。

 
生牛肉可粉
越南菜必點

 
之選。牛肉香嫩鮮甜,粉滑彈牙,值得推介。

蒸銀雪魚
銀雪魚基本上落少少牛油煎香已無械可擊,賣相佳,色香味皆全。

 
雞肉串燒
不知怎講,只覺很熱氣。味道一般。

 
越南咖啡
賣相特別,全程望着怎樣滴漏。練奶早在柸底。咖啡滴完攪拌就喝。這趟是我第一次喝越式叻咖啡,不知是否咖啡問題,總覺練奶跟咖啡不夾,加上咖啡本身只喝到苦澀味 ,這咖啡只能給我視覺上的享受。

 
總括而言,食物的賣相比味道吸引。

Man, when Holly Brown first launched in Hong Kong, it gave me an image of a place with high quality of coffee. Remembered the big roasters they put in Stanley store and all those amazing latte art on the coffee?? 

Well, I happened to drop by Tsim Sha Tsui this evening. I passed by Illy but I didn't dare to go inside as I am a strong believer that only fresh roasted coffee taste good. So I decided to take another 2 min walk to Holly Brown and hoping to get a decent cup of coffee. I ordered my coffee and stand there waiting for it. I saw the barista has three orders  in hand but he was only chatting with his colleague from time to time and it took that genius to make three cups of coffee in 10 minutes. 10 minutes? No kidding. He was only concentrated in chatting with his colleague and don't give a damn about customers making for the coffee!

My latte finally came. As Holly Brown was known to have one of the best latte art in the industry (at least before as i recalled in my memory), I was shocked when my coffee arrived! The barista did not have poor sense of customer service, he doesn't know a single bit about making coffee. The bubbles are large and the latte art is a complete disaster. If you don't know how to do it properly, you might as well serve it the way Starbucks does. Although Starbucks does not have latte art, the barista knows how to differentiate what a latte is and what a cappuccino is. The foam on my coffee was about 20mm thick. I saw him made two lattes before my order and the foam was perfectly at 10mm. What the heck??

Besides about the appearance, the coffee only tasted bitter and hot. I saw they put up a sign saying that if the milk reaches over 70, the texture will break down or something like that. But my coffee was definitely over 70!

I have a little suggestion for this shop. If the barista cannot control the foam at the right amount, they better serve the coffee in a cup that is not transparent. There is no need to pretend to be a specialty coffee shop if you don't have proper barista. Moreover, don't charge the coffee at a high price. Your coffee is no better than any of your chain store competitor!
