I am HK Born Chinese that recently moved back from US after 15 years. I love hole in the wall, privately own or non chain restaurant. I like supporting them because I was a restaurateur myself who understand the hard work that goes into the whole entire operation. I have realistic expectation but will looking for good bang for the bug. I will try everything once and give it a reasonable doubt before I completely put it in the dog house. My husband was also a chef. He is American so we appreciate a good piece of US Prime Steak but also love Spicy Thai, thin crust pizza, hearty bread (which is hard to find in this town) or local unique restaurants. We also like to find local joints that are expat friendly with good service. Our taste is more refined when it comes to Western food and when it comes to Asian food, we look for complex flavor and specialties. Don't count on us for Sharks Fin or Abalone, not our cup of tea.
