I've been a long-time reader of OpenRice and it's probably time to contribute. A little about myself: I am an easy-going and adventurous eater but that is not to say that I don't have standards. While I don't believe that you should pay through your nose for food, I think it is nice to indulge sometimes. Food can express so many things it should be celebrated more.
