非常 America 的小餐廳, 店主的確花了不少心思去尋找古物. 撇除窗外的環境, 心中想一下, 公路電影中的餐廳, 就是這樣的佈置. 若入門口時, 帶點風沙入來, 更 America.

我們一行五個人, 看見main只有六個餐. 而starter也只是數個. 相量之下, 各捨其一二. 剛好一人一個餐連湯連飲品4個course. 基本上, 我地把menu上所有東西叫哂. 俗稱掃menu.

首先, 一人一個甘荀薏米湯, 沒有多加奶同芝士, 味道顯得較為清新, 整個湯, 是濃濃杰杰的甘荀蓉, 湯帶少少甜味, 而那甜味不只是甘荀的鮮甜, 薏米, 不只是加上薏米咁簡單. 煮湯時, 亦把薏米水一起混進去, 令味道更加清甜.

若大家抱著一個 Taste America既心態上來, 應該令大家失望了, 若只是來食裝修, 感受 America, 倒是找對了地方. 為何這樣說, 因為大部份的食物, 是亞洲菜式. 要美一點的只有漢堡包, 麥樂雞同夾硬當係美式的千層麵....仲有沙律既. 其他, 都是 Asia Selection. 大家有沒有想過, 係西餐廳食咖喱魚蛋, 鍋貼同越南檬粉吖????

雖不是美式, 但整體味道同服務之細心就挽回好多分數. 5份 Starter, 只有Veggie Nuggets 同Roasted Pumpkins & Potatos Wedges是西式. 其他, 素鍋貼, 咖喱素丸同沙嗲串燒, 就是亞洲的味道. Veggie Nuggets就是响素食食材店內, 好容易找到的素 Chicken Nuggets, 現代的素的仿肉程度極高, 口感竟然可以近乎98%似真.

咖喱素丸, 就等同咖喱魚蛋. 明顯的, 這個又是素食材料店的現成食品. 素丸夠彈牙, 咖喱辣味不重. 素丸入貨入得好, 不忘食多幾粒.

Roasted Pumpkins & Potatos Wedges (烤焗南瓜薯角), 小南瓜, 味道非常之甜. 烤到全熟的南瓜同薯角, 外面香脆, 裡面厚厚的瓜肉/薯肉, 又甜又腍, 若果切成更細條, 像薯條般依法, 應該更佳.

沙嗲串燒, 串燒了兩種不同的素肉. 一種是素牛肉串, 一種是素雞肉串. 沙嗲味道幾香口, 有粒粒的花生味. 素肉一樣口感質感極之相似.

素鍋貼, 食落, 感覺似日式素餃子多一點, 因為皮不夠厚. 裡面的素菜餡, 有椰菜粒同冬菇粒. 加點醋去食, 算是可以的一個小點心.

Main, 我們同樣叫了五樣, 苜自介紹三個, 香茅蕃茄蛋配珍珠糙米飯, 越式撈檬配炸豆腐及串燒, 照燒汁炸豆腐雜菌伴珍珠糙米飯. 以上3個便是是晚的亞洲式食品.

香茅蕃茄蛋配珍珠糙米飯, 蕃茄味比較重, 第一啖會發覺蕃茄味蓋過應該更香的香茅味. 珍珠飯配上糙米飯, 一半是軟綿綿, 一半是帶點硬穀的糙米, 味道, 有少少似意大利飯, 好一個Fusion菜式.

照燒汁炸豆腐雜菌伴珍珠糙米飯, 我們成檯人把呢一大碟飯遺忘了, 最後開始食佢時, 已經帶半飽同凍哂. 該是最好食的, 就此打了折扣. 照燒汁弄得香甜, 混入雜菌同米飯當中, 帶點和風味. 炸豆腐, 幸好不太鹹, 凍凍地, 點上少少照燒汁. 另類的食豆腐方法, 有另一種的特式味道.

越式撈檬配炸豆腐及串燒, 芫茜味非常之濃, 不是人人食得慣, 做得雖然非常越式, 但對一向清口的素食者來說, 就覺得香料落得太多了. 不過, 此等香料食材, 不納入五辛之列, 所以大家都可以安心食用. 說回檬粉, 一條條沒有太腍, 仲有少少彈力不硬身, 味道濃不只是芫茜香茅, 那個用青檸撈出來的汁, 也是令此物惹味的其中一個原因.

西式的, 有焗紅菜頭醬芝士漢堡包伴薯角沙律, 同一個芝士焗雜菜千層麵. 漢堡包, 由於是齋妹的生日飯, 所以齋妹要求要食半隻, 就讓她食半隻, 餘下4人便把另外的一半四分. 不回看Menu不知道, 漢堡扒是用紅菜頭, 攪成醬, 再夾成. 原先我們還以為是紅腰豆之類的豆製品. 不過味道極之甜口已經分得出這不是豆類. 據太太所說, 芝士味是重的, 我吃不到全因為我分到的一塊, 也許太小了. 後知後覺, 原來當中有一片類似豆腐乾既物體, 就是呢隻Burger既芝士.

芝士焗雜菜千層麵, 是最簡單的鬼佬素食之一. 若是愛芝士的人, 可能會覺得芝士未夠. 因為半浴既芝士不多, 但Lasagna既面層就是一層烤脆了的芝士, 帶點咸香, 脆脆地, 伴下Lasagna內既菜同蕃茄, 帶酸味, 有麵粉餅既屠汁, 帶味蔬菜, 有少少芝士. Lasagna除了用牛肉做餡, 用雜菜做餡也是一種傳統食法. 當然, 純波菜餡, 味道更佳.

這兒雖然不是Vegan Restaurant, 但亦會就一就Vegan的口味. 所有菜式不單只可以走五辛, 俾Vegan素食者, 更可以要求走蛋走芝士走奶. 是晚餐飲, 我點下一杯Cappuccino, 是一杯用豆奶沖的意式咖啡. 係Lovin Hut, 豆奶奶茶飲過, 豆奶咖啡會係點呢?? 而且仲要係Cappuccino.

品味咖啡開始, 沒有用奶去沖, 固然是差了少許. 因為沒有了奶的Creamy味道. 不過, 都想研究下佢點樣可以將豆奶/豆漿打到起泡. 咖啡味道不算濃, 而用豆奶帶出來的味道質感, 有點似用脫脂奶沖出來的咖啡一樣, 味道偏淡. 不過, 細嚼一下, 濃味的豆香, 在咖啡中脫穎而出. 用豆奶/豆漿去沖咖啡奶茶, 係另外既一番味道, 給你另外的一種感受.

此名10點鐘便打烊了, 我們利用尚未清場的時間, 開拆禮物, 周圍拍照. 直至10:15分. 都係唔好阻住人收工了, 大家一齊過銅鑼灣, 接表妹放工.

對食素一向都不太有好感, 不是中式的全菜宴,便是仿葷的海鮮肉類等,又或是濃的醬汁, 混淆視聽。 然而,一個月光顧兩次veggie sf是有原因的。當然有main dish的材料及side dish是仿葷的,不過主菜仍是以蔬菜為主,加上自家製的醬汁及精緻的伴碟,真的很吸引。逐款介紹下吧:焗紅菜頭醬芝士漢堡包伴薯角及沙律:這款必定是veggie sf的signature dish! 第一次食beetroot(紅菜頭)是在澳洲,一咬便吐了出來,但吃過這個漢堡包竟會念念不忘。beetroot配上芝士及豆芽菜,味道很豐富,感覺很有層次及清新。不得不提旁邊的烤南瓜,很可口及鮮甜。彩虹野菜日本炸物牛油果散壽司飯:飯內加入了醋及牛油果,以為自己在食壽司,但加入了各款甜椒,味道更鮮甜,令原本不太愛吃甜椒的我都無停口。旁邊的炸物略遜一籌,有點油,但也值得一試。香脆黃金塊及沙嗲醬素串燒:味道一般,不過不得讚下製作方法。黃金塊的表面很薄,不油膩,也真的很香脆。沙嗲肉質有少許乾,但醬汁是精髓。甜品(芝士蛋糕及特濃朱古力蛋糕):朱古力不太濃郁,但不會太甜。質感比較硬,可能沒有加入雞蛋/牛油。反而芝士蛋糕有驚喜,一

逐款介紹下吧:

香脆黃金塊及沙嗲醬素串燒:味道一般,不過不得讚下製作方法。黃金塊的表面很薄,不油膩,也真的很香脆。沙嗲肉質有少許乾,但醬汁是精髓。

甜品(芝士蛋糕及特濃朱古力蛋糕):朱古力不太濃郁,但不會太甜。質感比較硬,可能沒有加入雞蛋/牛油。反而芝士蛋糕有驚喜,一點也不heavy,淡淡的芝士mixture配上餅底是perfect的完結。

店內的佈置印象深刻,服務態度良好,看得出老闆經營的心機。價格在中環來說很經濟實惠,的確是放工後悶悶地談心的好地方。

溫馨小提士:
*最好預先訂位,如果七點前兩三人都應該無問題,不過之後就full house。
*訂位或者可以提出想要窗口位,因為燈光及decoration會比較靚及明顯。
*只收cash,一定要帶夠錢。
*早點去會比較好,因為收九點。

見到d comments 都幾好, 於是一心想lunch試一試, 經過上一次o既經驗, 前一日都會book唔到, 所以就上個friday打去book今個tue, 成功book到 , ,到咗星期二早上想加多1位, 點知打到去佢就話加唔到, 就算加到, 都係走廊位, 成日要起身, 會坐得唔舒服..跟住講多唔夠兩句, 佢就話, "咁不如你cancel booking啦...", 哦....當時o既反應就係...都幾唔休做喎...所以我都唔知幾時會再book呢間食LU...

約了很久的晚餐,是晚終於能夠順利舉行,三人終於都聚首一堂。大家也各自己在港島區放工,所以晚飯地點當然選在港島區,既然大家也沒有特別的意見想吃什麼,便繼續由我決定了,最後便選擇了來這裡! 這次已是我第三次上來了,前兩次也摸門釘,今次終於能夠一嘗這裡的食物了。由於臨時才決定,也害怕不知有沒有位,大概下午四點打來訂位,幸好店員說有位置可預留給我們。我們三人準時來到,店員安排了一個在窗邊的位置給我們,有點自成一角呢。朋友來到這裡不停稱讚這裡的環境就很漂亮,尤其她們喜歡懷舊別緻的東西,一見實在滿心歡喜,另外朋友讚的竟然是店主安排了張摺檯給我們,她說有腳踏非常舒服呢 =P。是晚晚飯主題是「life is sweet」,原因是我在英國買了支印著「life is sweet」的波棒糖給朋友,她非常喜歡,幾乎張張相片也要和它拍照呢。我們看一看MENU,連MENU也非常漂亮呢,整個環境氣氛所有東西都非常夾。主菜有數款選擇,起初我們原本只想到兩款,最後在店主努力HARD SELL下我們也聽從了他的意見叫三款不同的食物一起分享。另外我們亦將其中一個UPGRADE了做Dinner set,可有一個湯跟飲品。先來

是晚晚飯主題是「life is sweet」,原因是我在英國買了支印著「life is sweet」的波棒糖給朋友,她非常喜歡,幾乎張張相片也要和它拍照呢。

我們看一看MENU,連MENU也非常漂亮呢,整個環境氣氛所有東西都非常夾。主菜有數款選擇,起初我們原本只想到兩款,最後在店主努力HARD SELL下我們也聽從了他的意見叫三款不同的食物一起分享。另外我們亦將其中一個UPGRADE了做Dinner set,可有一個湯跟飲品。

先來湯是菠菜螺旋藻湯,店員很細心的給了我們三隻碗讓我們可以一起分享。這個湯喝下去非常清甜,稠度適中,好香蔬菜味,而且還真的吃到很多薄薄的一片片像植物的東西,那應該就是螺旋藻吧,這個湯味道一點也不會太單調和淡,很好喝呢。

另外我們叫了一個小吃 Veggie Nuggets香脆黃金塊,店員說吃下去其實是纖維來的,但他們做得像吃雞塊的樣子。來到的時候賣相依然漂亮,也有茄汁伴在旁讓大家調味,Nuggets吃下去表面脆脆的很香口,內裡有點點像雞肉的味道又有點點齋的味道,口感有點像吃肉的,但感覺更煙靱口感更好,這個味道不錯。

之後就是主菜了,第一個是脆豆腐雜菌伴珍珠糙米飯,起初來到的時候感覺像很清淡似的,但吃下去我們卻吃得津津有味,一點也不會覺得太淡呢。雜菌和一些類似枝豆的伴在一起,它有一個醬汁跟著甜甜的,吃起來味道很夾很好,豆的味道很濃很清香。另外還有數件炸豆腐,表面脆漿很薄,豆腐幾滑有豆味,加上偏硬的糙米,吃下去很有口感~~~

第二個主菜是焗紅菜頭醬芝士漢堡包伴薯角及沙律,這個就是店主極力推薦的一個,還幫我們切成三份呢。中間那一層紅紅的就是紅菜頭,但吃下去感覺是否還有豆蓉在內呢?有點像肉醬的感覺,也有點點肉的味道,加上芝士和沙律汁,非常惹味好吃,麵包也頗軟熟呢。另外還有沙律和炸薯角&南瓜,沙律汁是黑醋汁,酸酸的非常好吃。

最後主菜就是芝士千層麵,來到賣相和平日的千層麵真的沒什麼分別。內裡的餡料是菜粒,翠玉瓜粒,粟米茄子等,味道倒變得豐富起來。加上茄汁和 煙煙靱靱香濃的芝士,味道真的不錯,吃完還真有點意猶未盡的感覺。

我們最後叫了Chocolate truffle cake作甜品,一叫很快便來到了。吃下去非常冰冷,個人覺得雪得硬了點。吃下去是數層的,中間有一層較軟的朱古力,其他就是偏硬的部分。不是超香濃的朱古力味,相反是淡淡的,感覺是平日吃朱古力海綿蛋糕的那種味道,適合不好太甜的朋友。

吃畢大家也非常滿足,這裡裝修環境真的很好,幾乎所有裝飾品都是從三藩市運來的,真的很有風味。店主超好人,又有趣,他還幫我們影相,選擇不同的mode和角度,真的很感激他。是晚在這裡渡過了愉快的一晚,總結「Life is SWEET!!」。=)

未食過素西餐,知道呢度有,第一次摸門釘,今日再來中環,終於有機會試下。地方很靚,很不錯。餐湯係橙甘荀湯,橙湯很怪,飲落係熱既甘荀味果粒橙,似果汁,唔似湯。餐牌中首選係千層麵,只係沒有了肉醬或者海鮮既千層麵,賣相真的不俗,不過焗得較腍,可惜丫。另一個要了檸汁煲呔粉,冇想過檸汁味這麼強,檸過龍。食到中途,都幾可肯定要溝貨,滿腦子都係疑似肉物體。服務很好,環境很好,素食店,再來要講緣份。

香港有美食天堂的稱號。單在中環就有兩大食區,分別是蘇豪區和蘭桂芳。蘭桂芳以酒吧聞名,附近也有不少餐廳,其中西式佔了主要部份。本文介紹的餐廳名子叫veggie-sf,位于陸羽對面,電話是39023902,是區內少有供應素食的西餐廳。餐廳位于一個商廈上,它的外牆有落地玻璃,可俯視街道景觀,坐在窗邊看下去,夜景很迷人,令人好舒服。室內裝修以美式風格為主題,裏面可找到星條旗還有加州區旗。店內不少美式擺設,大部份均直接購于美國。店主夫婦曾在三藩市居住,這是店名的來源。這幾個月,我光顧了多次,好欣賞這裡的食物,原來齋都可以這麼好吃。首先,那個無酒精的啤酒,很有麥味,非常可口。頭盤一般是沙律,它的醬計酸甜適中,我好喜歡。南瓜和薯條炸得好鬆脆,令人回味無窮。魚旦,炸雞塊和串燒雖然以素食為材料,但口感也非常不俗。至于千層面,它是我的最愛,每次去到我一定點這道菜。至于飯後甜品,當然不可錯過。無論芝士餅還是雪糕均很美味。這間餐廳實在太有特色了,很多東西非筆墨可以形容。有時間一定要親自去試試。

I have been in SF many times since its "soft opening" a few months ago.

My wife has found it through friend recommendation and being vegan it did not take too long before the word spread.
To us SF seems to have filled up what we were missing in Hong Kong: a nice, reasonably priced, healthy vegetarian restaurant.

Generally we are quite dissatisfied with the average Hong Kong veggie restaurant since most of the dishes on the menu are not really healthy: lots of preservatives and empty carbs, fake meat, no organic veggies and in general just vague attempts at recreating meaty dishes without using animal products.

SF is definitely different. I have noticed strenuous efforts since the beginning to improve and differentiate their offer. The menu is simple but changes very frequently and all dishes are quite unique recipes elaborated by the owners to cater for their guests.
Their vegetable are fresh, they use nutritious products like spirulina and nuts and rice is organic.

After the first visit a few months ago, I have challenged them to organize a dinner for all our vegan friends and I think they did very well: great value for money and lots of ideas to please everybody.

At the beginning SF was simply a lacto-ovo western vegetarian restaurant.
Right now it caters for vegan, lacto-ovo and buddhist (no onion, no garlic).
Also, the menu now covers western and asian dishes.

Last night I have had a burger (my favourite veggie burger in town, with a nice beetroot patty, instead of the usual beans or tofu) while my wife had a Korean bibimba (spicy fried rice with vegetables cooked in a hot pot).
SF also offer non-alchoolic beer and wine, Yogi Teas (caffeine-free!) and other delicacies.

I love the decor and I love the colors! I am quite sure the owner (or whoever handled the renovation) put some thoughts in creating this 1950s USA atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised indeed when I first stepped into this resto.The colors, the fixtures and the mix of different chairs really made this place rather exciting in its own way. Oh did I mention it is a veggie resto? VeggieSF as in Veggie San Francisco. Yeah, no meats on the menu, just a set of 7 or so vegetarian dishes based on different cuisines such Japanese and Korean. The name of the dishes pretty much explained it, namely Japan Town and Rainbow Bibimbap.

Aside from mains, we ordered several side dishes to share as well. The first was the Veggie Wedges which were wonderfully done! The texture were firm yet crisp on the outside while slightly soft in the inside. Slightly spiced and the flavors were delightful!

The Veggie Dumplings were well prepared but I wished the fillings can be ... well, can have more fillings I guess.

I ordered the I Am Fabulous which was the Oven Baked Beetroots Cheese Burger. I never thought beetroots can be used this way as the patty. The beetroots were minced and formed into a patty shape for baking. To be honest, I quite enjoyed it not just for its creativity but for its flavors as well. I cannot really compared its texture to a real burger because it was rather mushy but it was good the way it was.

Gold Rush - Malaysian Curry with Mitake Mushroom and assorted veggies with brown rice was another delightful dish. Nothing particularly exciting and flavor was rather light but no complaints from me.

Japan Town - stir fried Rotini (menu said Tortiglioni though) with assorted mushrooms and celery was alright, rather ordinary yet filling I guess.

We were still a bit hungry so time or some desserts! The Cheesecake was ... rather dull especially with that flag like topping.

The Chocolate Cake wasn't great but not terrible at all. Not sweet enough for my liking.

I did not try the Pomelo Ice Cream but it would have been a refreshing way to end the meal for sure.

The meal and desserts were not very exciting but I did enjoy my stay very much. It was something different, something very delightful and it is a place I would come back for its atmosphere and a quick casual meal whenever I feel like veggie!

* overall flavors were light (just a personal preference issue)

this place looked nice. but upon arrival, i realised it is very small and too squashed with tables.there was a set menu and you can choose from 5 or 6 sets. I chose the curry vegies with rice. it was alright. the soup was also alright, tasted very veggies.the set lunch came with a drink. i was told i could choose from the meu and there were certains drinks which i had to pay for more. at first, i asked for a can of organic grapes soft drink. a bald guy told me i had to pay additional mone

"oh, yes, the coffee is actually more expensive but we somehow charge more for the soda with the set lunch, i notice that. weird, isn't it? but that's life. life is full of weird things."

huh??? what the???!!!!!

anyway, i still asked for the soda becuase it said "organic" and i wanted to see how a soft drink can be organic. but unfortunately, like is full of weird things. the bald guy came back and said they ran out. so i had an awful cappcino at the end. see the photo? it even looked awful! look at the bubbles!

(btw, their coffee is made with soy milk, so it tasted quite sweet even without sugar)

oh, another down side, the place is VERY noisy.

素食店的選擇不是太多,散餐只有幾款,反而飲品選擇更多.當中有些不含酒精的啤酒,心想,沒有酒精的酒,還可以叫做酒嗎?散餐價錢由六十多,到最貴的九十八.這個下午,便再做一次"草食男",來個田園沙律,這個沙律更包一個餐前湯同餐包.

餐前湯是雜菜湯,材料有蘿蔔,番茄,椰菜等等,基本上是羅宋湯走肉.味道酸甜,但層次單調,結尾很弱.可能沒有用到肉之關係.田園沙律賣相不俗,沙律菜新鮮爽脆,dressing酸甜度平衡,沒有出現偏向一邊的情況.加上腰果碎,將這個沙律的口感大大加強.但是以這個價錢去相比,Simpylife的三拼沙律,份量比這個田園沙律大得多,而吃罷這個沙律之後,肚裏還好像沒吃過東西似的.

某個晚上,再次來到Veggie SF,這次便來個千層麵.沒有肉醬的千層麵,換來的是雜菜粒如粟米,茄子等等,除內涵有別之外,無論外表味道,也同外面吃的千層麵味道差不多.但菜粒的質感,與肉醬又是兩回事.這個一小件千層麵,價錢為$98,還未計加一呢.對一個男生來說,當然不夠飽.

此素食店亦有甜品供應,不要寄望有很多選擇.如果來到見到甜品就大叫大嚷,便會破壞茹素應有的平和心情,兼會失禮死人.

作為一個食肉獸,偶然來到這等地方,清一清腸胃,來平衡一下心理,每次都膽固醇萬歲的話,恐怕有朝一日,會如某些人般一樣食古不化.

I have tried their carrot ginger soup and orange ginger soup, both have rich texture. This time the soup of today was borscht. There were lots of ingredients in it and it tasted rich and nice.

As for the food, I tried the veggie burger and my hubby decided to stick to his favourite lasagna. I am a vegan so I asked for no cheese in the burger, but trust me, it still tasted good. The beetroot patty tasted fresh and healthy and much less heavy than the usual veggie meat patty. The baked potato and pumpkin wedges that came with the burger were such a delight. They were very delicious yet healthy as they were baked, not fried. The lasagna never disppointed my hubby and he said it's better than many 'Italian' restaurants in town.

We tried one of their snacks, curry veggie balls. The balls tasted very much like fish balls. The best part of the dish was the curry sauce. Every dish was enjoyable!

I have been to SF several times and every time I go back, I can taste and feel some improvement in the food quality and variety. The owners, Paul and Bess, are always friendly and happy to take comments about the food and everything.

I have been there for lunch and for dinner. As far as I can tell the menue is the same for both. The restaurant is funky, and something that fits in well with the NCali theme. Food - tried the lasagna and bowtie noodles - lasagna was very good - looked like they cooked the portion separately rather than in one big pan divvied up. Bowties didn't have much taste. Lots of unusual ingredients (sorry, I am not a veggie thus not used to eating just veggies) but still a little bland. Also ordered

Also ordered the roasted pumpkin and potatoes - I liked the potatoes better and wished they would serve that separately - not a fan of pumpkin but I am sure other are. Veggie dumplings were quite nice as were the veggie balls (which was my partner's fave). Soup - carrot pumpkin - very delicious and nice texture.

Service was fast and efficient and very friendly. The owners Paul and Bess stopped by our table to chat and were very friendly. I really liked the place and would recommend it to veggies and non-veggies alike.
