經常喺銅鑼灣出沒o既契妹一發現以其雪糕三文治聞名o既「Elephant Grounds」於區內開設分店，就急不及待捉咗小肥契哥陪同一試 。店子側旁有個亮白o既餐牌列出多款雪糕三文治o既口味。外牆與室外座位o既枱櫈裝修全為木造，極富大自然氣息。室內則好夠光亮 ，四邊牆身都咁白雪雪。直入門口右邊先為水吧及收銀處。柱上有個木造o既咖啡餐牌。樓底高o既餐廳正中央排出一列打對面o既高櫈吧位。中間掛有幾盞吊燈，感覺簡單整齊。左邊吉空o既一角為矮枱位置，可能望落都已經唔多舒服 ，結果全晚都冇人坐。食客大多都選擇坐後面正常高度o既二至四人四方枱，我地兩個都唔例外。餐店左右兩邊o既天花同以一片倒掛草皮作裝飾，第一感可能都幾健康，不過望多幾眼就開始驚有野會跌落黎咁，有啲驚驚。「Elephant Grounds」門外及紙餐牌上都講名餐廳主打雪糕三文治，點知分店新開張期間卻冇主打甜品提供 ，甜品只有一款餐牌上都未有o既西多士，講真都有啲反感架 ！！！冇計啦，既然一早預咗入黎食甜品，所以都叫咗客西多黎試，結果居然等咗成大半個鐘頭先有野食 ！等待期間服務生曾經俾咗兩杯水我地飲，不過飲完一杯就冇再添過，

 等待期間服務生曾經俾咗兩杯水我地飲，不過飲完一杯就冇再添過，唔知係咪唔高興二人只叫咗一客甜品分，一杯飲品都冇叫呢？！

 廚房唯一烹煮o既甜品其實只係兩塊厚厚o既西多士，又乾又嚡
，反而西多上面o既焦糖雪糕就好夠香滑濃甜，契妹形容得非常貼切，當真「妹仔大過主人婆」！

 可能因為要望住幾幅唔多吸引o既畫食甜品啦，其中一幅不但血腥味濃，亦印有粗言穢語，加上服務生o既面口又唔多友善，小肥進食時頓覺食慾不振，情緒大受擾亂
！

 「Elephant Grounds」於銅鑼灣新開分店，卻未能提供主打雪糕三文治，直令人失望萬分
。食店於食客不多o既時候都唔可以有效率地煮出推介甜品，簡單o既西多就連XO仔都煮得好食過佢，服務生更看似不甚享受工作，欠缺熱誠，要俾$88去令精神及肚皮不快，個人覺得絕對唔抵呀
！

    High expectation, big disappointment

    Early last month, I walked through Fashion Walk and saw the signs that Elephant Grounds would be opening soon.  Then, after I returned from the US this month, I walked through Fashion Walk again and saw that it has opened.  Knowing that godbro XO loves to try new places, I told him about the new restaurant, and we decided to meet up at the burger place next door for dinner and have dessert at Elephant Grounds afterwards.Elephant Grounds has outdoor seating, and on the other side, you can see the

     Elephant Grounds has outdoor seating, and on the other side, you can see the ice cream offerings.  I was hoping to have an ice cream sandwich, but they were sold out already.  The hostess actually told us that they have a French Toast that is not on the menu yet, and she even showed us a photo of it from her phone.  It looked pretty good, so XO and I decided to split the French Toast for dessert.

     The hostess seated us inside, and I noticed the greenery on the ceiling immediately.  The general decor is nature-like with wooden chairs and tables.  However, the pictures that were on the walls were uncalled for to say the least.  I realized that the photo I took of the paintings contains profanities, so I decided not to post it.  You can call me uptight for getting offended by that particular painting, but I just don't appreciate that kind of satire in this setting.

    The hostess placed our order of French Toast as soon as we were seated.

     The menu is the soft opening menu at the moment, but since we already decided on the French Toast, we didn't order anything else.

     The waiter gave us each a glass of water, and also gave us 2 plates since we were sharing the French Toast.

    The water was filtered water and tasted a lot cleaner than the tap water that most restaurants offer.

    However, one of the plates they gave us was dirty with food scrapings stuck on them.  I scraped off the food that was stuck on the eating side of the plate, then flipped it over and saw more stuck on the bottom and decided to take a photo of it.

    We waited for about 20 minutes, then we asked one of the waiters how much longer it would be, he said he would check on the order, but he never came back to tell us anything.  Then, another few minutes later, we asked another waiter, and this time, he came back and told us they are preparing the French Toast, and it should be out soon.

    XO and I checked our photo timestamps and verified that the French Toast took a half an hour to arrive from the time we ordered.

     The presentation of the French Toast was pretty good.  The salted caramel ice cream that came with it was excellent.  However, the French Toast was terrible.  The first bite on the edge was good.  They dusted the toast with cinnamon, and the toast is coated with egg mixture.  The egg mixture didn't penetrate the toast at all, and the rest of the toast was so dry that I had problem swallowing it.

    I had high expectations for Elephant Grounds since my friends have been praising the other branches for months.  I would probably come back and try the ice cream sandwich, but I would definitely stay away from the French Toast!  Hopefully, I won't be so disappointed next time!

     When we asked for the check, XO signed to the same waiter who didn't come back to us when we inquired about the status of our order.  The waiter didn't acknowledge us, but he just yelled to the cashier that our table wanted the check.

    There is no service charge included, but we decided against tipping because the service was not up to par.

     As we were leaving, we saw this "Training in Progress" sign, and one of the waiters definitely needs more training in customer service.
