we bought the coupons from a groupbuying site and yes we understand there shouldnt be too much expectations for what we are paying. However it was not only the level of service and food that disappointed us but the whole dining experience, sadly, nothing was up to the standard......We first called up one day in advance to make a reservation (as requested on the coupon), the person who answered the phone sounded very unfriendly and unwelcoming, after knowing we got coupons the immediate answer i
However it was not only the level of service and food that disappointed us but the whole dining experience, sadly, nothing was up to the standard......We first called up one day in advance to make a reservation (as requested on the coupon), the person who answered the phone sounded very unfriendly and unwelcoming, after knowing we got coupons the immediate answer is "we are fully booked tomorrow"(which really surprised me as tmr is a monday, not friday or sat!) so curiosity got the better of me i continued to asked, what about tuesday, the grumpy voiced said very reluctantly they still have one table left i need to decide now or it will be gone.......i ended the conversation by saying i will ask my friend see if we can make it on tuesday and call back then....
so we thought monday would be fully booked and decided to switch to another place....however, around 7:40pm on monday when we are heading to the other place, we thought why dont we give Adagio another try? So we called the number again, this time we simply said we would like to reserve a table for two, do you still have any tables available for tonight? (NOTE: without mentioning we got coupons!!) , the answer was yes, what time will you be coming? we were surprised and said how about 8pm (same night!!), obviously they are not full and told us no problem just come! i was like, what?! i thought you were fully booked? whats worse is when we got there, what we saw just totally make me want to say the french word again! they have about 12 tables in total, and only 3 were occupied! We just want to use the coupon we mistakenly bought so we sat down and had the worst dinner ever, the service was "cold faced"all night, the oyster tastes nothing like oyster, the salmon was as thin as a piece of paper, the goose liver, i only took a bite then decided to give up...(really not sure whether it was liver from a duck or sheep or a pig or a fish, the colour was grayish white, tastes NOTHING like what i had in any other restaurants!!!)
So that was a big fat lie about how they were fully booked! i dont care how bad the location is or how crappy the food can be (they really managed these two!) , the first thing is they shouldnt lie to their customers like this, and it was just so obvious that we feel being fooled and been treated like a 3 year old! We are not blind, we will see it is not even close to being full when we get there! Why bother lying to us?!
I thought the marketing scheme of using groupbuy site is to attract more customers not to drive them away!!
To conclude this dining experience in one word: Nightmare!
