Visited the Lobby Lounge at Island Shangri-La with my colleagues for afternoon tea since she had coupon. .We shared two sets of Spring Afternoon Tea, which included the following dishes:-Sakura Raspberry Topped with sakura petals and whipped cream, the dessert looked cute and was fruity. -Strawberry Rhubarb Roll CakeThe cake looked delicate with strawberries, flower petals and cream on it. -Sakura Raspberry
Topped with sakura petals and whipped cream, the dessert looked cute and was fruity.
-Strawberry Rhubarb Roll Cake
The cake looked delicate with strawberries, flower petals and cream on it. The tartness of the rhubarb intensified the sweetness of the strawberry, and the amount of the cream was just right, making each bite balanced.
-Pistachio Cherry Pavlova
Topped with cherry and whipped cream, the pavlova had a fluffy base and a soft interior. The pistachio flavour was not that apparent though.
-Smoked Salmon & Radish Sandwich
This combination was super savoury. The smookiness of the salmon paired exceptionally well with the radish, presented as a well-layered sandwich.
-Green Pea Éclair
The choux pastry offered a slightly salty and eggy taste, while the green pea filling had an earthy flavour. I am not a great fan of green pea, so I was not too into it.
-Lobster & Cream Cheese Wheat Bread Roll
Topped with fish roe, the bread roll was succulent and had a rich, sweet flavour of lobster. Pairing it with cream cheese produced a smooth and velvety texture.
-Scones served with Clotted Cream and Jam
The sconces were absolutely remarkable and memorable. With a slightly crumbly and dense texture, the scones were buttery and mildly sweet. The rich clotted cream added a creamy touch to the scones, complementing their subtle sweetness.

-Selection of Shangri-La Tea or Coffee
I chose Darjeeling, which had an intense floral aroma and muscatel flavour. It was sweeter compared to other black teas. My other colleagues selected Earl Grey, Arabian Nights and Chamomile.

The lobby lounge is designed as a vintage tram called the Shangri-La Wonderliner, creating a retro and unique ambiance. We were lucky enough to be assigned to one of the "carts", allowing us to dine and talk in a more private space. There were a live band performing music from time to time, enhancing the classic and elegant experience.

The staff was nice and attentive, helping us take photos and serving us patiently.
