A friend and I, upon arriving, sat down and started studying their drinks and food menu.... We took quite a while to decide because we were chatting and also their food menu is pretty extensive. A waiter came up to us twice telling us to order drinks because they had a happy hour special....In the end, we ordered two juices at $28 each for hh - they were not fresh, but the bottled variety, especially the cranberry I think was oceanspray!We also ordered: A grilled snapper with spices ($158), a ro
In the end, we ordered two juices at $28 each for hh - they were not fresh, but the bottled variety, especially the cranberry I think was oceanspray!
We also ordered: A grilled snapper with spices ($158), a roti ($25), and a mongolian chicken curry ($88).
First arrived was their house bread, served with chicken liver and mashed olives. The bread had some onion and butter on it, and tasted pretty good.
The food we ordered finally arrived. The curry was very good, although I would've preferred if the sauce was thick - isn't that the nature of curries? The sauce here was soupy...perhaps this is mongolian style? Nonetheless, the roti (which was crisp and already sort of shredded), went very well with the sauce.
The snapper was very good. The skin was crisp and they gave you salt, chilli and a spice for you to adjust the taste. With a little lemon, this dish was very tasty!.
Before our food came belly dancers came out. They were both very pretty but one was lacking in dancing skills and this was very obvious...
The decor of the restaurant must also be mentioned because it was very pretty. For 3-4 people you can sit at the tables nearer the entrance/exit, which is a semi circled sofa. The diners in pairs however, were squished in cramped single-tables....
The service was not very good as briefly mentioned above. The same waiter asked us if we wanted to get another drink after we finished our juices and I felt pressured but didn't budge. The manager however was pretty attentive if not overly attentive.
Nonetheless, a very good dining experience.
