If you like a clubby atmosphere, large comfy chairs, and no nonsense British food, this is the place.For appetizers, they serve a huge piece of goose liver pate with chopped aspic, large enough for two. It is ideal for sharing if you like this dish but are a bit worried about the fat content and cholestrol. Unlike most restaurants who tend to use duck liver nowadays, they use goose liver, which gives a much more refined taste. It is great served with buttered toast.For mains, I go for their roas

For mains, I go for their roast beef, which is a huge portion and again ideal for sharing unless you have a large appetite. Unless you specify an English cut, it will arrive as a thick slab of meat. Their Indian chicken masala is also of a huge size, although the taste is average. We also ordered bangers and mash once but it was nothing special.
Service is old world excellence! They take good care of you in a very personalized way. Charming!
