My evening at Firebird was a whirlwind of flavors, and every dish I tried left me grinning like a kid at a candy store.I started with the Volcano Salmon Roll, and let me tell you, it’s a showstopper. The salmon was so fresh it practically melted, with a slight sear that gave it this smoky edge. Decoration was very modest and simple, looked like a local neighbourhood noodle shop inside a shopping mall.So when I ordered the "crown dish" of the shop I wasn't prepared to be mind blown!The "beef monster" noodle was made up of a huge 7-8 inch split open femur bone. Thick cuts of beef shank, beef balls and thin seared and caramelized beef.Ingredients were generous and high quality. All well prepared, bone marrow was baked to perfection. It was the most creamy and tasteful bone marrow I've had thrown in a bowl of noodles like this ever. The bone marrow itself can match even the fanciest restaurants which will cause u likely 5x the price just for the bone.Beef shank was soft and not boiled and marinated to death. The integrity of the muscles are still there. Beef balls were tasty and chewy, there were definately traces of meat integrity still in the beef ball and not jus factory beaten pulp balls. I booked the "獨家 Staycation 優惠: 帝苑酒店 The Royal Garden 住宿連餐飲" inclusive of dinner and breakfast buffet.The dinner buffet included in this package is compulsory for guests to start the buffet at 8:15pm. At the time of booking the buffet, I thought there would be 2 rounds of buffet and 8:15pm time slot would be the second round as a common practice in many hotel. As it turns out, there are no second round and the buffet is just a continuation since its start at 6pm for other non-package customers. As you'd expect, the food was 80% gone, presentation of the food looked like its leftovers from other customers, refilling was awfully slow. Cold bar and seafood had already been left there for 2 hours and the hotel is just feeding you scraps. I cannot understand why, as a paying customer I had to suffer from this treatment. The package is not cheap and there are no reason for package customer to be forced to eat leftovers and scraps from the dump. Be warned of this horrible arrangement. Had a super nice feast at Yahataya, genuine quantity and quality! A few days ago I saw Yahataya's promotion on social media platform. As long as you leave a message for "half price", you can enjoy a half price discount for two people and one person at once. All you can eat for 180 minutes, and the discount is about $320 per person.I went at 6, but by the time I left the restaurant was already jammed packed, make sure to book before you go!As always the sichuan hotpot. The staff served the hotpot as soon as I got seated, wasting no time at all and can start eating right away... unlike some of the restaurants I went in the past which took a good 15-20 mins before you can eat.
