Good dishes, but make sure you book table first.
Dragon Noodles Academy
2018-03-10
Overall the dinning was good; Lobster soup noodles very rich in flavour, the noodles I guess are hand made from the texture, the only short fall was I was expecting a little more lobster meat. The second highlight was ginger paste chicken meat roll, well aroma spices, great presentation. Other dishes we ordered Beef Cheek was very tender, fried pigeon was on special HK$28 per pcs, didn't taste great but it was good value when it is on special.A bit let down by the front door and a small number of waiter/ess, with rather slow response, not major though, was a good experience overall.…Read More

THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill
2018-02-12
Having been to some of the "best" steak house in Hong Kong, honestly my expectations were not optimistic to find a spectacular diner in HK.We had a group of 8 with kids, the complimentary parking (don't matter if you don't drive) was a bonus. Sat down to in front of the open kitchen, normally this would be an annoyance, but the kitchen was pretty professional, the staff knows what they are doing, the music and ambience noise was a bit on the loud side.We order 50/50 soup (half cream of mushroom and half lobster bisque) and oysters for appetizers, the oyster for the night was french, wasn't as creamy as other variants but very fresh and has that french sting it was great. We order Rib eye for the mains, I loved the hard char grill scent but my sister wasn't so fond for such strong char coal scent. I suggest if you want something a bit lighter taste you can order other items in the menu. The real gem in the sides was the mash potato, the finish was super smooth and creamy, remind me of the British style mash potato. For dessert we went for the molten chocolate cake recommended. A vanilla scoop on top of the hot spongy exterior of the chocolate cake with a spectacularly runny molten chocolate interior. That was fantastic.Overall experience was great and I love where you can pick your own preferred knife for your steak (if you know your knife work well)Highly recommended!…Read More

潮州菜呢一間算唔錯
CHIUCHOW GARDEN (Metroplaza)
2018-01-06

Spectacular dishes, but the dining experience was
Oyster & Wine Bar
2010-09-10
I called up on the same day to make the booking, in the afternoon, but the restaurant was busy, so I left the booking message with the hotel reception. Sure enough after 30 minutes one of the restaurant reception called back to confirm the booking.Arrived pretty much on time, the table was ready, and the usual business of settling in. After reading the manual for 10 minutes, the waiter comes over with the tonight’s special menu. It was a bit awkward because we’ve literally decided on what to order already. We finally ordered; (Appetizers) Seafood Sampler Q’s Size, Carpaccio, (Mains) Grilled Sea bass and Veal Chop.:)-Seafood sampler, a mixture of oysters, prawns, crabs and shells. As you would expect from a highly reputable hotel, all the seafood was so fresh, and just has the right blend of favors. For example the fresh scallops was served with a light miso sauce, which worked some magic as I’m not a big fan of the raw taste of fresh scallops (unless it’s just been freshly caught at sea).-Carpaccio, was somewhat disappointing, the actual taste was precisely what you expect (and maybe a bit more with a strong sense from the rocket leaves), but it’s let down by the dryness of the beef (not actually dry, but just not in the juicy range), and there is a lack of richness in the texture. Disappointed.-Grilled Sea Bass, served with Champagne and Fungus Cream Sauce. This was the dish that totally redeemed itself. This was a dish picked from the specials menu. As served it looks ordinary enough, a grilled sea bass chop with a cream sauce, and OMG we were in for a treat. As we took the first bite of the dish, we were completely sold… The elegant champagne and fungus sauce flavored every sense, the spice richness circulated the mouth, the sea bass texture mixed perfectly with this flavor, and to top it off a crispy skin tickles the bite into a complex yet beautiful experience. This maybe the best I’ve had for some time.:)-The Veal, was pretty decent, juicy, and full bodied, the spices balances the meat in good harmony. The only thing that was to our surprise was the general ambience noise of the restaurant, I mean it’s good to have a good dining ambience when you dine, but the level was al little over the comfortable level to our liking. Secondly, the waiter/waitress made the place a little more tense than usual, they were pretty much rushing about all night, it’s good to have some urgency but maybe a little over the top.…Read More
