BF and I tried this place simply because it was nearby and we were lack of inspiration for food after a late/big lunch on Sunday. We went in a little after 8pm, and got seated right away as there were only a few diners in the restaurant. Staff seemed friendly, a bit presumptive thou. I might appear local but I’m not and I don’t speak local language. I struggled to keep up with the waitress when she insisted on talking in Cantonese, until a guy realized that we weren’t able to communicate and stepped in. So no biggie.Food was acceptable overall, nothing stands out thou. We ordered bbq-ed ox tongue, eels, pork wrapped asparagus, sweet potato and eggplant. The eels with bbq sauce was nice as expected, but nothing to rave about. The ox tongue was quite chewy and ended up in a napkin. The dishes were priced between HKD50 and HKD100. The price didn’t sound too much but portion was TINY. There were two skewers per dish and two pieces on each skewer on average. For example, the size of two pieces eggplant together on a skewer was smaller than a business card. The meat skewers were even smaller. Fortunately we weren’t looking for a proper dinner otherwise we’d end up with a massive bill!We probably wouldn’t go back.
