I was planning to try this restaurant for so long, literally years! Mention to try it whenever passing by but always pick whatever in front. I was thinking of a local Shanghai lunch today, immediately thought of this restaurant. No matter how far I was, I came all the way here. I was planning to try this restaurant for so long, literally years! Mention to try it whenever passing by but always pick whatever in front. I was thinking of a local Shanghai lunch today, immediately thought of this restaurant. No matter how far I was, I came all the way here.

We ordered deep fried pork chop with golden garlic served with dan dan noodle and pork and bak choi dumplings with shredded pork and pickled cabbage in noodle soup. For drinks, we picked cold soy milk and cold sugar cane water.

Both noodle portion was big. Didnt expect to be that filling😂. Noodle was thoughtfully cut. Noodle was soft and not overdone. Dumplings were huge! 😳 Thin and smooth wrapping wrapping loads of juicy stuffing. Vegetable based even saying wrapped with pork. Picked cabbage and shredded pork was alright. Not salty at all and they gave a generous amount. Dan dan noodle was mild spicy. Not peanut butter base type, but more spiced side. Not as thick. Not bad again.

Deep fried pork with golden garlic was a surprise. Golden garlic was crunchy and very flavourful. Pork was also crunchy. Batter was thinly coated. Perfect to serve with rice.

Both drinks were nice but kind of small. Anyway, it's included in the meal set.

Staff was busy wrapping the dumplings, could tell all dumplings were freshly made. Not sure if I came early (~3pm), that's why all dishes from lunch menu were available. People came in after that were told many options from the lunch menu was unavailable because the chef was off at that time. Nevertheless, the lunch menu said it's valid from Monday to Saturday between 11am to 5pm. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Just weird.

All in all, I will come back to try out more and friendly reminder to make a reservation if dinner.
