Came here for a coffee after checking out the Japanese restaurant Yagura opposite here, which has attractive prices and decoration - must visit there soon. Due to the expectation that perhaps this hotel is trying to improve their food and drinks department, I decided to give this new coffee outlet a chance to convince me - ordered a strong Caffe-Latte. The coffee base was definitely under-extracted and one could hardly taste any coffee characters, except the ash-like base and slightly over froth

The coffee base was definitely under-extracted and one could hardly taste any coffee characters, except the ash-like base and slightly over frothy 'latte' milk. Not even as good as the mediocre Starbucks. How unfortunate.
Also had a chicken pie to go with this as a pre-dinner snack. Was slightly dry at the edges and the fillings pretty boring, although the pastry wasn't too bad, certainly comparable to the local Maxim's and St Honore's cake shops. Edible.
