This is not your typical loud and cranky cantonese restaurant in Wanchai , although it is 'strategically' located across 利苑酒家 on Hennessy Road. First impression was that it's got the upscale 'maxim restaurant chain' decor but not overly pretentious. The staff were all friendly and not pushy at all. When we look at the menu and the signature dish, it reminds us of the good old 佳餚店 in Wanchai. Remember 士多啤梨骨?I was impressed with the tea pots and chopsticks that's obviously been picked to stand

Food came very prompt and steaming hot. We were somewhat disappointed with the luke warm plain congee and rice (although it was cooked perfectly in terms of softness)
We asked for 'free' desert and manager was kind enough to offer 红豆沙 which was one of the best I have had for a long time!
Overall we were pleasantly surprised and happy with our meal. Price tag was a bit on the high side but good value for money if you are looking for a nice ambiance with comfort food.Post
