Both Godbro XO and I suffer from premature gray hair, and I've been dyeing my hair forever.  XO has skin allergies, so he cannot dye his hair.  Recently, he was introduced to a shampoo that can aid his problems but has trouble finding the shampoo, so I told him that we could try looking for it in the famous drug store in TST.

Since we were already in TST, I said I wanted to pick up some Korean seasonings and snacks, and we also decided to pick a restaurant for dinner in the area.  After I was done shopping in the Korean grocery store, we looked around and I caught the famous dessert place around the corner, and then, across from it... The science geek in me deviated towards the lab... Well, LAB EAT Restaurant that is...

XO and I were seated by the window across from the bar, and when I looked up, I saw this pretty chandelier.

While we were browsing around the restaurant, the Oyster and Daily Special Menus caught our eyes, and we decided to order from these two menus rather than the Set Dinner Menu.  Our server, Jacky, recommended a few items to us and explained that they are testing out these items before adding them permanently to the menu.

There was a promotional card for the moscato on the table, so I ordered a glass.  The moscato is sweet and bubbly as usual.

The bread is supplied by an outside vendor, but the restaurant warmed it up, which is a nice touch.  Other than the butter that came with the bread, there was also oil and vinegar on the table for those who prefer oil and vinegar over butter for their bread.

Then, came our oysters... They were served with a genuine cocktail sauce with horseradish in it, but I'd prefer less black pepper in it.

The Gillardeau had a light and crisp flavor and a thicker flesh.

The Tasmania was more briny and the meat was not as thick.  I prefer oysters with stronger flavors, so in this case, I liked the Tasmania better.

Next came the baked oysters, XO had the Rockefeller and I had the Kilpatrick since I'm the bacon lover!

The baked oyster was filled with sauteed bacon and onions, which added a great flavor profile to the plump oyster.

The biggest difference between godbro and I is that I LOVE salads and greens, and he stays away from green stuff!

Our garden salad came with a vinaigrette which was well-balanced between sweet and acidic.  The greens in the salad were fresh and crunchy!  It also came with kidney beans that makes this salad a good option for vegetarians.

The Paella is listed at $168 on their special menu, which felt like a good deal for paella, so we ordered it to split between the two of us.

The paella is a true good deal because it had plenty of seafood in it!  There were mussels, scallops, shrimps, clams, calamari, and chorizo in it.  The seafood was plump and not overcooked.  However, I would criticize it for its texture, since the rice was a bit too mushy, but they might be catering to the locals that do not like dry firm rice.

A meal is not complete without dessert, so we had the daily dessert which is a green tea cake.  The cake itself was moist, and the cream was fine and smooth.  The best part of the cake was the red bean paste, which was perfectly sweet and mushy.

Overall, LAB EAT is a nice restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle of TST that serves fresh tasty seafood!
