Food wise:
Oysters were labelled coffin bay type. I'm not experienced enough to know whether they were real but it was nice although small. Same goes to the long Crab legs. The lobster cut in half was bad, so disappointed, no taste at all the meat- extremely bland and I tried on 2 different visits just to double check.
Th Fois Gois on piece of toast is as tasty as it should be (phew!)
The big piece of beef was not cut to biteable size and our knives were not steak cutting knives so pretty tough to cut haha.
The sashimi and sushi was limited but the tuna Sashimi was ok quality.
There was Chinese cuisine in the buffet, the usual duck, BBQ Pork and salty pork meat. That was only OK. There were 2 massive fishes cooked and by the time we arrived, half of those 2 fishes were taken by other buffet participants. BY the end of the buffet, the same 2 half eaten fish was still there; I believe it was too unappealing for anyone to grab a portion of. There was a hotpot kind of aparatus for vegetarians of which 2 of the female members on our table preferred over the meat.
There was a truffle mushroom soup or Tom Yum Gai to choose from. The mushroom soup was better although no way could I taste the truffle.
Dessert:
Definitely the best part of the buffet! Unlimited Vanilla or Chocolate Haagen Daz with the occasional Strawberry one's also ;p The bread pudding with cream was tasty too.
All in all, we were asked by the waiter how the food was and we were frank. The waiter didn't seem to unsuspecting of our feedback, he apologised and left. We got 15% off the buffet after having 10% service added on so still HK$500 odd for the buffet.
It definitely did not reflect on our parties initial expectations of an Infamous W Hotel quality dinner buffet
