It was very hard to eat it at first as I was afraid of all the toppings falling off due to the height and some sauce was already dripping off the bowl 😅. However, I ate some toppings first and that cleared a path to the rice which slowly progressed and then I could mix everything together.

The mushrooms were an assortment with brown mushrooms, shimeji and oyster mushrooms as well. There is also a lot of it so it was very filling. They were all crisp with their distinct bouncy texture as well. The sauce was also very well distributed and coated each and every mushroom.

— 🍚🥗 —

The brown rice and salad mixture was perfectly balanced. The rice was chewy and firm but with a natural nutty flavor and aroma. The salad leaves were all lettuce and they gave a really nice crunch to each bite. The portion of rice was perfect for me (someone who doesn’t eat a lot of rice) and enjoyed how I never got one bite of plain rice, there was always another topping ☺️.

For toppings I ordered cucumber, edamame and cherry tomatoes. The shear amount of cucumber and edamame was extraordinary. I felt like I was always finding and eating cucumber 😂 (I am a cucumber lover, so I was very happy) the edamame was also given generously and all were crunchy and nutty with a smooth aftertaste. The tomato’s were smaller than ordinary cherry tomatoes and less round, but the taste was the same and gave a nice pop of flavor and texture. There was about a handful of tomatoes which was more than enough.

I added an additional avocado for $12 as I wanted to have that creaminess in the dish as well. It was served on the side so it was quite hard to eat it at first but then after I mixed everything together, it was delicious and creamy.

For dressing I choice their ‘nutty sauce’ and it was sadly unnoticeable in the dish, I don’t know if it’s because the sauce they covered the mushrooms in is too strong or they only added a little as I could barely taste nut in any bites 😞, it didn’t make the dish bad but I tried my mother’s bowl with ‘wasabi yogurt’ and it was very prominent and obvious there’s wasabi.

— 🧄🌶🥜 —

I ordered all seasonings except salt. The only one that was noticeable was the crispy garlic, it was really obvious in the dish and gave some bites an exciting twist. Also contested nicely with the mildness of this dish. The chilli flakes I asked to be served separately so I can add to my taste and I ended up using all of it 😂. Adding chilli flakes definitely moves the dish up a level and some bites with the chilli seed made me pant a bit 🤣.

Deep Fried Lotus Chips (炸連藕片) $48

We also separately ordered fried lotus chips from the snack section because the taster one they give you on each bowl was absolutely delicious. Crunchy and crispy with a light salt seasoning.

The basket of chips they gave us definitely surprised me with the volume. There was a lot. They also changed the seasoning and added spice to it, which made me even happier. The chips were freshly fried so it took 10-15 minutes and it was, fortunately, served hot and not oily at all. 👍

💬 Overall,

The ambiance of the restaurant was really pleasant, with Cantonese music playing in the background and not too many people chattering. I also love how they have the option of brown rice without the additional charge like other poke restaurants do. The vegetarian option being cheaper also made me happier to eat there.

The only problem would be the staff. It took me many ‘excuses me’s and arm waves for 2 waitresses to notice me. So long that another customer glanced at me and gave me a sympathetic smile 🙂.
