粗菜館,顧名思義賣的不是什麼精緻菜,而是如客家菜般的平民菜式。粗菜並不代表做法簡單,有些菜式如炒豬什其實十分花時間準備。粗菜館九龍城店及佐敦店碩果僅存,主力售賣家鄉風味小炒,有推介菜式圖文並茂。薑蔥蜆蚧炒牛肉從小只知蜆蚧用來點炸鯪魚球,原來亦可用來炒牛肉。薑蔥大火爆炒,牛肉嫩滑鮮甜,入口無渣。香煎蓮藕餅煎鯪魚餅加上蓮藕碎,熱辣辣的彈牙有口感,煎蓮藕餅內有髮菜碎,近年已經很少見。微辣秘汁炒蜆豉椒炒蜆火喉十足,醬汁微辣,容易接受。蜆肉大多離殼,洋蔥及彩椒清甜爽脆。
