To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 本人於10/6/2020 光顧屯門美心皇宮酒樓,當晚人數不太多,但是服務卻是意料之外。因為美心集團通常都會有某某信用咭優惠、套餐等等。於是在點餐前便多口一問,有沒有信用咭優惠,怎知職員回應是什麼咭都無用,現在已7折了,語氣非常之不好。朋友於是繼續點餐,由於還有朋友未到,點餐完畢後並跟職員說「叫起」!怎知不到10分鐘,菜便到了,職員間還在推卸責任。到朋友到了,起菜時,竟然漏了之前來的魚,經三番四次催促才到。 到最後,朋友稱要拿蛋糕出來,職員拿來時問是否現在進食,我們答是,職員稱要收50元,我們問為何不一早通知,職員沒有理會。怎知有名高級職員,相信是經理,回覆,東海堂或美心就不用收,我們問為何。不在雪蛋糕時通知呢?當時沒有人回覆!於是大家不歡而散!最神奇的是離開後查單發現收取了外賣盒及膠袋費用。不可思義,這麼大的集團,區區小數目也弄不清楚!
