Passed by this < Soft Thunder > the other day and was attracted by its simplistic bright interior as well as its pastries.
Different from local bakeries, Soft Thunder serves pastries that lean towards the West. Cinnamon rolls, croissants, cupcakes, palmiers, scones, madeleines, canelés, custard tarts - you name it. Don't forget their signature unicorn puffs too, which are actually inspired by the indulgent cream cone, a traditional pastry found in the old Hong Kong.
Unicorn puffs here are cones - made with croissant pastry - filled with custard. They come in different flavors - Original (Vanilla), Chocolate, Matcha and Hazelnut.

The making of croissants - as you might be aware - requires the folding, rolling, freezing of a dough and it takes a lot of hand work as well as time. But Soft Thunder does not outsource this process. Instead, they prepare croissant doughs in their shop!

走在堅尼地城北街,發現了這家裝潢簡約、櫥窗裡放滿西式包點的《Soft Thunder》⚡️
包點大多以酥皮製作,例如牛角包、蛋撻、蝴蝶酥、玉桂卷等,還有這裡最引人注目的「Unicorn Puff」🦄️
要把牛油麵糰對折、壓平、冷凍靜置,重複這樣的過程幾次,才可以製作出酥脆可口的酥皮
而Soft Thunder的酥皮就正正是在店裡的自家工場製作的,可見心思🥰

其實這品項是受港式懷舊麵包「忌廉筒」所引發的,不同的就在於內餡:這裡的是用上吉士醬做內餡
有四款口味:原味(香草)、巧克力、抹茶、榛果
看網上報導說,店家將麵糰搓成 486 層,讓酥皮更鬆化
每一口都是在吃店家的心思啊❤️
這是冷吃的,咬下去可以吃的到酥脆的外皮,而內餡甜度剛剛好,不會太膩
內餡份量足,吃到底還有👍
