- Wooloomooloo hot chocolate cake - 落柯打嘅時候,說明了朋友生日想加爉燭,結果不單加了爉燭,還加了生日字句,更喜出望外的是原來還有即影即有服務,侍應替我們影了合照後,更將合照以咭形式送給生日小姐呢!至於味道方面,亦非常好,蛋糕中有朱古力流出,伴以雲呢拿雪糕,簡直是超完美的組合

主菜是慢煮的牛脊扒,由於腸胃炎剛好,不敢吃太生,所以要了medium。牛肉的肉味偏淡,慢煮的關係,也不像炭烤的香口,牛肉也韌了點。當然午時的價錢與晚市五、六百8安士的牛扒是不能比的,雖然明白此道理,但吃到此質素的牛扒,難免會有點失望的。

I went to Wooloomooloo in Sydney and thought this one should offer equivalent or similar quality and experience. Unfortunately, it was totally disappointed in terms of food and customer services.

We ordered the following dishes:

Seafood Plateau for Two $1120
Porterhouse (half-portion is Fillet Mignon, the other half is Sirlion) $585
Side Salad - Plain Caeser $65
Fox Creek Shiraz $525
San Pellegrino $65/bottle

Total include service charge for 2 person: $2,596-

We had high expectation on the Porterhouse, and found the quality is just so-so. The Seafood Plateau was awful too. It contains oysters, few slice & dice scallops, lobster, crayfish, clams, shrimp and jumbo cocktail prawn. All in semi-frozen status. You cannot tell whether the seafood is fresh and tasty. We were very disappointed, except the stunning skyview out there and the bottle of Red Wine - Fox Creek to fill up the anger and frustration. Not value for money!

The dining area is not very deep, so you can a great view even from the inside tables. We could only see the green lasers of the light show at 8pm, it was that foggy, but the view was still very atmospheric. The Wooloomooloos on the top floor are really something special.

Our waiter was in a good mood and joked around with us, though most of his jokes fell flat and the way he raved about the food made us a little uncomfortable. Apart from that he was very attentive and made no mistakes. This was very refreshing compared to our previous experience at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse in Wan Chai where the staff was quite novice.

The other difference between a Wooloomooloo Steakhouse and a Wooloomooloo Prime is the menu, which is a bit more extensive at this "Prime". For instance I could finally order my staple, steamed broccoli. The grilled asparagus is also always good.

The New Zealand grass fed fillet mignon was perfectly cooked and the veal jus tasted heavenly. My friend's swordfish was so good that she said "this is so good" at least 10 times. Being from Italy, she loved the Tiramisu, saying it's better than anything that can be had in Europe.

We will definitely be coming back here as it really sets a high standard for steak.

澳洲榖飼連骨肉眼三十安士- 肉汁十足,成數亦做得很好,唯一可以說的是澳洲牛就是澳洲牛,肉味比較淡,始終美國牛好食好多!

開了一枝紅酒及 散叫白酒兩杯,令窄窄的枱更加窄,小侍應連番道歉說枱太窄,小侍應沒有權力可以幫我們轉枱,經理眼見成枱都係食物,亦無主動替客人轉枱!(由始至終起碼有八張四人枱無人坐)

外籍經理也象徵地跟我們寒暄一番。我覺得小侍應有heart得多!

*唯一不滿的地方,
可是那位接線的小姐,
前來途中,車子遇上輕微交通意外,
等待差人前來交待事發經過,
簡單寫下當時情形,
以致遲了45分鐘。

致電餐廳,告知原因。
並說我們就在還有5條街的距離。

問那張檯可有還留了給我們?
那接線小姐一直問:
"你地幾耐可以黎到?"
"你地幾耐可以黎到?"
"你地幾耐可以黎到?"

5條街的距離,
相信並花不了太多時間,
想那接線小姐大慨忙瘋了以致失去距離感。

只好跟她說,

那接線小姐終帶我們來到坐檯,
發覺像我們這種8人大檯,
另外2大張還是空空的沒人坐。

至11pm結帳時也吉著。

一坐梳化位不久, 職員遞上menu/drink list.
同時職員話需要keep我張credit card,但唔會過任何數, 因為security reason!!!!!!
我就問點解, 因為我見識少, 真係未試過一坐低, 未落order, 餐廳要keep 客人張credit card!!!!!
佢話, 因為之前佢地有客試過坐係呢d sofa位, 走單.

我真係有d氣上心頭, 咁等我落左order先算.
心諗我又唔係突登揀呢個lift 口sofa 位坐,
你地而家咁既意思即係我地都會走單啦?

之後無幾耐, 佢地又話我地可以坐露台,
佢地拍埋左兩張枱, 夠我地7人坐.

但我唔明佢一間餐廳, 如果發生比人走單既事故,
唔係去keep 之後既客人既card, 而係去點樣改善佢地自己既security, 睇緊d囉.

其實我食過Wooloomooloo steak 個d野, ok, 幾好.
第一次黎Wooloomooloo prime...

坦白講, 呢個感受好差, 個職員又會講得出口...
我真係點樣都唔會再去...

我亦希望呢個只係我, 極少數人既經驗.

坐定後便開始點菜, 有幾款lunch menu選擇, 我們分別點了兩款不同的前菜和主菜, 因為可以多試幾道菜
但甜點我們都一致選了芒果慕絲蛋糕, 因為另一款聖誕布丁真的不對我們口味… 餐前的麵包size夠大, 表皮夠脆, 裡面亦夠鬆軟, 本身的味道亦夠香, 所以不搽牛油仍然好好味

兩款前菜分別是煮蛋沙律和海鮮沙律, 論賣相煮蛋沙律較為吸引, 蔬菜和煙肉放底, 淋上一層沙拉油, 面放一隻半熟蛋, 瑯瑯吓呈現不穩定狀態, 上面斜斜地放了兩條露荀, 好吸引好想食, 用义刺穿雞蛋, 部份半熟的蛋汁流出, 蛋汁的香味配襯著蔬菜的清淡和煙肉的咸香, 味道好好!! 海鮮沙律的賣相普通, 三款帶殼的海鮮一字形放於碟上, 分別有帶子, 青口和蝦, 旁邊放些沙律菜, 感覺有點冷清, 味道不算十分鮮甜, 合格分數而已.

主菜分別選了牛排和應節的焗火雞批, 牛排有點過熟, 而且表面好多焦位, 肉質不太嫩滑, 有點 “粗鞋”, 比較之前在elements分店晚飯的質素明顯差了一截, 作為一間steakhouse弄出這樣的牛排是有點失望… 反而沒有期望的火雞批真的出乎意料地好味, 理應 “難口” 的火雞肉因為被切成一小口一小口的, 不覺粗糙還感覺幾彈牙!! 鬆軟的批皮配合另上的香濃蘑菇汁, 使本來較淡味的火雞肉變得鮮甜起來, 十分不錯的火雞料理.

甜品時間了, 芒果慕絲蛋糕賣相吸引, 蛋糕放中間, 上面斜斜放了一片卷曲了的雞蛋餅, 旁邊有些切開了的士多啤梨. 兩個甜品愛好者慌忙地吃一口, 蛋糕夠滑, 芒果味足, 作為餐後甜點是滿意的. 最後的咖啡和紅茶都保持一般水準, 合格分數.

飯後還可以到餐廳另一邊的露台位置欣賞風景, 亦可以拍照留念, 原來我們都想拍照, 但烈日當空的正午時份, 避免拍到面上有大大個陰影, 還是吹吹風看看維港景算了. 坦白說所有禮物在Boxing Day 前都拆了, 今天收到最大的禮物就是上天賜予我們一個天朗氣清的假日, 可以舒適地在陽光下午膳, 謝謝!! 

I was absolutely happy with the Asparagus, pancetta and poached egg salad with Bearnaise sauce. If you thought nothing is sexier than seeing yolk running out of a perfectly poached egg, try seeing it oozing onto a pile of bacon. Yum!

Love the cream of wild mushrooms soup, which was served with truffle oil and garlic croutons. Super tasty! Plus, call me crazy, but I adore the rich golden tinge of this mushroom soup, it's not the normal grey concoction we usually get.

We were a bit disappointed by the grilled Australian rib eye steak. This corner of the steak seemed nicely cooked (we ordered medium), but the rest of the steak was sadly overcooked. The roasted potatoes and vegetables cpuld use a lot more seasoning and the peppercorn sauce on the steak did nothing to save the overcooked meat.

Although we did appreciate our window seat overlooking the beautiful view of Hong Kong harbour, the heat (even in winter!) was so unbearable, we were drenched in sweat even after peeling our layers of clothing. So unsexy, it's not even funny! We did voice our concern to the manager, who joked that he should start selling sunglasses and tanning oil (I suggested truffle oil?) and he cranked up the air con immediately. We (and our sweaty asses) truly appreciated his prompt action.
