To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. Food is good quality and well-prepared but portions are small for the price. Service is quite poor though and extremely slow. We got the set lunch and we hadn’t even received our main course after one full hour. Staff not very responsive with requests and often appears to avoid eye contact with customers. 另外因為farewell同事的關係,我們特意在電話告知希望在甜品上寫上字句。到最後waiter完全不用問到底是那一位,便能憑經驗準確地放到那位同事的位置上, 十分細心😌

Really impressed with the whole meal experience. Ambience is calm and relaxing, unlike a typical Chinese restaurant which is bright and noisy. Dishes are innovative and delicious. Service is impeccable. Yes the bill was high but it was a great experience. The only (minor) down side was that the lift that took us to the restaurant actually took us to its back kitchen which obviously wasn’t too welcoming. She did not smile. Just horrible. With her service I would rather go to Peking Garden or Monogamous, instead of coming back.


The other southeast asian waitresses were upbeat and smiley, way more better. Everything else was good.

整體來說這裏的食物除了桑拿龍蝦之外,其他都是偏凍的,應該將上菜的時間溫度控制返會比較好。食物質素方面算中規中矩, 環境氣氛就相當唔錯,服務質素都是普通的, 不過如果行開中環,三五知己到這裏食飯飲野都是一個不錯的地方。

整體來說這間餐廳我是推薦的 尤其是那個菜螃蟹鱈魚餃值得一試再試。

When doors open and you walk in the dining room, the restaurant oozes a grand, elegantly posh atmospheric feel. Kind of takes your breath away. The aircon is kind of weak at our table, it felt hot (~25 degs). Told the server, but it remained the same.

Our server was grumpy and unhelpful from the start. I felt she was kind of dismissive to several of my requests, and it just made the ordering process kind of uncomfortable and awkward. I thought, “Hmm we’re paying around 2K for this dinner, why do we have to tolerate this” so I requested a server change and the manager quickly did so. Our new server Sonia was terrific.

The food is good, basically novel spins on traditional Cantonese food. It wasn’t amazing. The plating was creative and artistic, but food wise nothing blew my mind, it was just like, “Hmm that’s interesting.” It wasn’t bad; tasted good, but it just wasn’t revolutionary or really attention grabbing. “Good” would be an apt descriptor, nothing more nothing less. Can’t pinpoint a standout dish, and we ordered 7.

The staff was responsive and helpful, sans the grumpy server. Since it was Mother’s Day they offered complimentary dessert and a gift chocolates box. Chocolates were good.

Worth going for the grand yet understated atmosphere/ambience. Food was decent.

Restaurant was told about our friend’s allergy to seafood. Half way into the tofu soup, my friend asked if the soup was seafood free. He said it was a vegan soup. Then my friend questioned the orange topping and wanted to confirm again. He finally went into the kitchen and checked w the chefs. He came back out and told us the topping was “crab roe”. My friend freaked out and immediately left the restaurant and headed home for allergy pill. They were apologetic but a bit too late. Servers need to know what goes into each dish to avoid fatal incidents...

Decor was excellent, very classy. Great for entertaining. Lighting was in places a bit too dim and music was at times a bit too loud.

I would make the pointed observation that we both found it strange that our wait staff addressed us every time with “dear” (“what would you like dear? Here’s your smoked prawns dear. How has the food been dear? Every time). We think that would be ok and appropriate for a casual eatery but is inappropriate for a classy restaurant (such as Chinese Library). In my >20 years of eating at fine dining restaurants I have never experienced similar kind of inappropriate befriendment. I hope the restaurant will take it as constructive feedback.

We just ordered a dessert for 1 as we are both full yet I would like to give him a surprise. Since I remarked it will be a birthday celebration dinner when I book the table, they helped me to write a big "Happy Birthday" on the dessert plate
Sonia delivered the dessert and a manager passed a birthday card to us on behalf of the restaurant and the Aqua group. They also took a photo for us, printed it out and framed.
