Went here to try the rice noodle rolls recommended on a blog.
Ordered: curry cuttlefish, Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce, siu Mai dumplings, baked pork buns and rice noodle rolls- dried shrimp. This was too many dishes for 1 person- rookie error. But they did allow me to take the remainders home.
Cheap though- i spent $79HK and took home dinner.
Definitely the star of the meal was the rice noodle rolls- these were very tasty and came on a plate with 8rolls- so these were very filling.
Going here again, Id probably order the BBQ pork rice noodle rolls, the Chinese broccoli and the baked pork buns.
Don't order the cuttlefish- felt it was a bit bland for my liking.

12-1-2013 (六)是日上午回公司 OT, 然後下午與媽媽去「一點心」吃點心。排隊 20 分鐘後才能入座我們兩人共點了四款點心。真材實料,豬骨夠大件,菜乾亦頗多。味道夠濃,惜粥底米還米,水還水,不夠綿。樣子白雪雪的,鋪滿大量蝦米和蔥花,入口熱辣辣,味道可口。走過油,而且蒸得很腍,豉汁味道濃郁,鳳爪入味得來爽口。 棉花雞相當油膩,竹笙也吸了一堆雞油,過腍。整體不過不失,可以一試!

潮州粉果一直是在下的至愛,因為粉果內的饀料豐富,有花生蘿蔔免治豬肉,再用皮包著。在下之前吃過的粉果共有四個,不過在這裡吃的只有三個。即使只有三個,吃下時不感到饀料很碎,且很有口感。

整體而言,味道十分好,皮也不算太厚,唯一的是店舖小小,廚房小小。

This single congee can easily beat most of local traditional congee stores ( including chain stores) . just wonder why most of those traditional congee stores can even survive with rice+water+MSG trash.

Take out order once, waited 7-8 mins, few items sold out after 9pm, decent microwave containers: ...microwave food next day afternoon on 例湯,菜乾排骨粥, 皮蛋瘦肉粥, sand-ginger chicken feet. still excellent.

豉汁蒸鳳爪:我和朋友都很愛鳳爪,這個鳳爪不止蒸到酥爛,更近乎鳳爪表皮開始融化的地步,吃著覺得軟糯到黏嘴唇,豉汁的味道更是完全滲入整個鳳爪。而且這裡的鳳爪都個大飽滿,不會有細碎的如同殘肢,肉厚吃起來更爽,回味無窮!

薄皮鮮蝦餃$20:相比較其他點心,我反而覺得蝦餃不夠好,只是普通。四隻蝦餃的皮都已經破了,皮也不算薄,沒有那種蒸到飽滿半透明的美妙。但裏面的蝦肉和蝦膏倒還是不錯,一來新鮮,二來蝦也很完整,雖然不算太大,但兩隻蝦加蝦膏黏合,調味也算鮮美,吃起來口感並不差。

總的來說,不論是否是米芝蓮,一點心的點心確實很不錯,食材新鮮又足料,所有都是新鮮即蒸,價格也很公道。雖然座位逼迫,但侍應很快手,及時拿走吃完的蒸籠,儘量不佔用有限的桌面;添茶也都很主動積極,即使我們已經吃完,也還是會主動添茶,我們當然也很拾趣,吃完就走以免其他食客等太久。

At least one of the staff members recognise me each time I come in, a very tall guy who is extremely friendly. He goes out of his way to explain all the dishes (even though I know perfectly well what they are), and does it all in english (because i'm gwailo, even though i'd prefer to practice my cantonese).


I've bought some of my gwailo friends here to try really good HK dim sum. It gets busy, but never have to wait more than 30 minutes which is not so bad, because you can just go up the road and look at the flower markets and Fa Yuen. Inside is comfortable and well air conditioned.

Bor ley (puh ehr) tea is served on arrived, which is pretty good (not as good as the tea at din tai fung) but still nice. Ordering is done fairly quickly, the menu is the placemat and its written in english and chinese.

Anyway, this time we ordered a lot (too much), but it didn't bother us because the total bill came to $150 HKD for 3 people. That's unbelievable for all we ate. Remember that this is a michellan star restaurant, and for $50 HKD each, its crazy.

Har gow (shrimp dumplings) - beautiful thin skin, very tasty shrimps, and they dont stick to your mouth too much


Lor Bak Gau (turnip cake) - really yummy here, with a nice crunchy outside and very soft inside. I always get it served with Chilli sauce and hoisin mixed together, the best way to have it. Comes with 3 on a plate and they're huge and filling.

Choy Sum (vegetables) - not that exciting, but it's vegetables, and you need them, right?


Char Siu Bau and Baked Char Siu Bau (BBQ Pork Buns) - I really prefer the baked ones, whilst my friends prefer just the regular steamed ones. There isn't a whole lot of difference at One Dim Sum because the baked ones aren't crunchy like they are at Tim Ho Wan. The filling is still good, and that's all that matters.

Meatball in egg skin (ngau yuk) - these are SO DELICIOUS
- I'll come back just for these. They're better here than most places in HK.

Chiu Chow dumplings (vegetarian) - I really like chiu chow dumplings, the ones here have a very glutenous and thick skin which they should but the filling is so tasty. I think they're much better than other places like Tim Ho Wan or Dim Dim Sum in MK.

Overall - go there, you wont be disappointed. Exit A of prince edward station, and then a short walk up playing field road. OR you can just walk from Mong Kok up Fa Yuen or Sai Yueng Choi, its not far. The wait is definately worth it, the place is consistently busy, the staff are friendly despite being run off their feet and its dirt cheap for some of the best dim sum in HK. You don't need to go to a huge yum cha hall (aka expensive) like maxims palace to have really good dim sum, it's all right here!

Had a great take away meal from here yesterday. Will probably keep going back here a lot because it is so cheap and yummy! I had the Deep Fried Sesame Balls, never tried these before. They're not my sort of thing, but were quite nice.These are the BBQ pork buns and the prawn dumplings. SO GREAT. And I got some steamed chinese cabbage that was really good.
