【Vintage Hong Kong Theme】Popular Dim Sum Restaurant!
With a decor inspired by the old Hong Kong of the 1960s and 1970s, this dim sum restaurant has branches in Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan, and Tai Po. It specializes in Traditional Layer Cake made with the traditional method, incorporating lard-infused ice pork for an extra rich and flavorful taste. 終於試到呢一間成日排隊嘅小店,啲點心好好食唔怪得知長期都要排隊啦,叫咗八個點心全部都唔錯。鯪魚球冇聲未難得難得。鵪鶉蛋燒賣最勁係粒鵪鶉蛋冇噏味,雖然出面唔係好多地方食到鵪鶉蛋燒賣,但係印象中食親都係有浸噏味嘅。牛肉球冇乜肥肉又係好難得。潮州粉果一籠有三件呢個真係好食,出面啲潮州粉果塊皮成日都係一pat pat,呢度就唔會,同埋呢度潮州粉果入面啲餡好新鮮好好食,沙葛同花生都正。炸芋角反而就一般,可能唔夠熱。鮮蝦腐皮卷發腐皮炸得好脆,腐皮卷入面嘅餡料亦都好新鮮。香滑米黃腸其實真係齋腸,好好食,好滑。叉燒包啲餡好靚,有叉燒肉而唔係叉燒醬。 continue reading

實在很久沒去過大埔了,這一天中午來到,碰巧看見這間在元朗薄有名氣的「老馮茶居」分店,店內滿是茶客,外面也有不少人在等位,心想這裡的點心應該不錯吧!但剛已吃過午餐的我也不以為意,便隨即離開。到了下午接近黃昏時段,我又再次經過這點心店,這時正是下午茶與晚餐之間的時分,店內人潮已散,只得三兩檯客人正在用餐,既然不用等位,我與太太又已經有點肚餓,便入內吃過早吃的晚餐。店舖環境是頗有gimmick的,兩面牆上都佈置成傳統的香港舊式舖頭模樣,令人感覺到有點回到昔日老香港的時候,讓人可以懷舊一番。「古法千層糕」($26)是最讚的。這道老馮招牌懷舊點心,店家說是限量供應的,不過這天我差不多黃昏才來幫襯,就仍然有得吃。這以冰肉、鹹蛋黃、糖冬瓜等食材層層堆砌而成,面層再下了椰絲,手工繁複的老派甜點,味道複雜有層次,甜中帶鹹,口感鬆軟可喜,我實在很久很久沒吃過了,這天再嚐,份外回味。「蟲草花燉雞湯」($42)還不錯,湯味都算清甜。已經愈來愈少見到的鴨腳紥下了柚皮和鮑汁變成的「鮑汁柚皮鴨腳紥」($30)輕易地取代了我一向喜歡的雞紥,成為這天繼「古法千層糕」後我另一道點選的懷舊點心。可惜這鴨腳紥的好吃度未如我的預期,柚皮腍得來有點過鹹,鴨腳也不算多肉,水準只是普通。一籠三粒的「鵪鶉蛋燒賣皇」($30)說是燒賣皇實在太名不副實,充其量只是一般而已,談不上出色。太太喜歡吃香口的煎炸類點心,懷舊點心之一的「五柳炸雲吞」($30)是她喜嚐之物。這兒既有,當然要點來試試。炸得都幾脆的炸雲吞,在這天的點心當中,已算是較為好吃的一款,夠香口,五柳甜酸汁也頗開胃。另一道煎炸類點心就點了「金牌炸芋角」($18)。這道價錢經濟的點心水準一般,芋頭味是濃的,但較實,而且也不太夠熱。同樣價錢相宜,但一籠只得兩個的「金牌叉燒包」($18)本是她的最愛,但她的評價卻是甚低,而且只是吃了一個便沒有再吃,還說我倆久不久便會幫襯,在油麻地、旺角、佐敦等地區都有分店的另一間點心店的叉燒包好吃得多。這叉燒包我雖然沒有吃,但聽她的評價,我想都應該水準欠佳了吧!在這天我吃過的點心裡面,最差的就要數「香滑牛肉腸」($25),腸粉皮厚得嚇人,牛肉死死實實的,而且欠缺肉味,在我吃過的腸粉之中,這牛肉腸都可算是數一數二不濟的出品。「高湯菜心」($18)灼得還好,總算正正常常。其實這天我點的很多都是店舖推介的點心,結果卻有一半強差人意,有些甚至極差,基本上只有「古法千層糕」最好吃,這天,我可是中伏了! continue reading
